Sketches inspired by @minuspluvea's art style, his design for Kayne and the little voice demons are so creative, I wanted to give it a try
Regan's art style stuck with me for its fantastic movement and grittiness, how the figures fill the space so creatively like a tapestry or a fresco. I drew from memory and ended up combining his Kayne design with my own...
Here's one of those demon things on John's shoulder, (also shown below) they're expressive and melodramatic I love them so much
and here's his Kayne design. You should check out his 26-page comic of the Kayne scene in the Roots! GO GO check it out also be warned there's a bit of gore and blood! Thank you Regan for cooking up straight fire
Unfinished ideas for a Malevolent 'Jekyll & Hyde Musical' animatic
If I actually go through with this I want Arthur to look consistent throughout Confrontation, and for John to transform and grow long antlers, fangs, claws
If you followed me for my Malevolent art please read, thank you!
I now have a blog specifically for everything involving my Malevolent Animation project:
@malevolentanimated
I'll still be posting all my work here, but I'll be reblogging my Malevolent cartoons, comics, and animations on that one to keep it organized in one place. If you'd like to follow the progress of that project without having to scroll down through everything else I post feel free to follow @malevolentanimated if you'd like to
I won't post anything there that won't be seen here, so don't worry about missing out on anything. Thank you for all the overwhelming support, I suspect my progress will be slow these coming weeks, however hopefully I anticipate continuing the animatic I've been chipping away at and other unfinished storyboards
@manxmoss The Hotel podcast fandom is the smallest and mightiest I've ever had the honor of being in. You guys are so, so, SO insanely devoted and talented, maybe even more than the Malevolent madness due to the sheer contrast between the size and the vast dedication/love. Not to mention that the podcast is brilliant and a fantastic experience and I cannot praise it enough
I will not hesitate to fall back on my roots, my first love, my gateway drug into horror podcasts and draw a little Hotel art. It's been a looonnnngg time
Another signed version of my mspaint stickman enjoying its very relaxing horror audio drama series. This is a still life based on a real event when I was listening to Malevolent episode 37 in a public cafe (I don't have a phone so was listening on my laptop) However can apply to many audio dramas I've listened to in public spaces
Let me know your own public space audio drama experiences, I'm curious
It has come to my attention that people have been using my mspaint doodle as a reaction image- and I'm flattered however I realized I didn't sign it so I made a signed version. Use this one instead please and thank you!!
Drawn while listening to Malevolent, but can apply to a wide variety of horror podcasts or listening experiences. I'll tag a few for safe measure
When I'm in an "adding unnecessary visual storytelling to a non-visual medium" competition and my opponent is Raina
Saw somebody ask if the box room is in Arthur's head, which is a good guess but I was thinking more that it's a full-sized room somewhere in a pocket dimension, with window-like gateways to Arthur's eyes, through which the entity can come out as a ghostly version of himself
Man I don't even know what to call this, an AU? Headcanon? I'm gonna call it Prism AU for now, or maybe Other Side AU, here's my original post about it. Originally a brainstorm for Malevolent as an animated series and I got carried away
