I actually love writing fun little interactions between pre canon TGS Jekyll and Hyde bc like!!! They're getting along!! They're actually not spending each moment trying to destroy the other!! They're just both enjoying the debauchery and mischief Hyde gets up to!!They're engaging in playful banter!! They look out for and listen to each other (to a certain degree)!!! More people should write them just having a Jolly time together, it's great :3

How J&H main gang smell like headcanons

Jekyll: smell of cleaness, some powder, slight scent of parfume, you might not even notice it

Hyde: smells like sewage, rot, smoke, alcohol and strong sweat odor, sometimes a tonn of fancy parfume in addition to all previous ones when they feel like it

Utterson: slight smell of ink, old books and burnt wood. A warm comforting scent around them

Lanyon: smells like medical alcohol, hospital, warm milk with honey

Spoke to a gen z person the other night and apparently the young folks don't know about the very legal sites from which you can access public domain media (including Dracula, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and other Victorian gothic horror stories)?

Like this young person didn't even know about goddamn Gutenberg which is a SHAME. I linked to it and they went "aw yiss time to do a theft" and I was like "I mean yo ho ho and all that, sure, but. you know gutenberg is entirely legal, right?"

I find it kind of funny that there have been more than 100 years of Jekyll and Hyde interpretations that (correctly) identify that Hyde, (incorrectly) seen from a purely sexual perspective, would be a sexually violent adult man whose very existence betrays that Jekyll has incredibly backwards ideas about morality and sex and consent, but that you couldn’t tell because every week or so someone puts out a tumblr post that says something like “basically, Mr. Hyde is a child that fucks”
