20, 22, 70? : )
Sorry it took so long to get to this!
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
I've definitely noticed that I use the phrase "cupping the base of (their) skull" when I'm talking kissing because it feels nice and intimate <3 also I'm aro and kissing isn't really my thing? So describing it is one of the hardest things about writing fic for me. I also use sun and dog metaphors a lot because I love themmmm
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
I wouldn't do horror horror because I don't think I would be very good at it. For fic, I wouldn't do first person pov and I absolutely do not jam with omegaverse or that weird love pollen trope. Also soulmates. Too allo for my taste. No shame for liking that though! These afe just personal opinions
70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
I have published og fiction so I have no problem telling people I write; in fact, it's what I'm probably most well-known for irl. Fic tho? No sir
Thank you so much for the ask!!! Here is the masterpost for anyone interested!!!! This was a joy to get and answer <3

“What?” Hobie’s tone is sharper. “He’d been hanging ‘round a petrol station a couple hundred miles back. Couldn’t just leave him.” “That is exactly what you should have done,” Karl says. Peter suspects his irritation is more a facade for concern. He knows the type. “I didn’t want to,” Hobie says, like he’s convincing himself of a white lie. “It’s not his fault.”

All Peter does is run away. He meets Hobie, and nothing changes.

56, 67, and 27 (sorry if you've already answered these!)
Hello hello!!!
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I like trying to convey atmosphere and I like to think I'm good at it as well! Sometimes it takes a bit of tweaking and working around to find the perfect words and phrases and all that
67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
Hmm I think they both have their places. Prompts are nice for when you're a little void of inspiration or want to write a lot very quickly, like with the monthly challenges like whumptober and mermay and such. Completely independent ideas allows for more creative freedom to go off and do whatever, but sometimes are a little harder due to the whole no guidelines thing, which is definitely a plus but can get make me very tired. Gotta say independent ideas for most of the time because of how much I get to go buckwild and do my own thing
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
My most favourite part of writing is when I first come up with an idea and I get that sweet sweet rush of all those sweet sweet brain chemicals as I allow it to consume me. The least favourite part has got to be depressive adhd burnout that occurs while I'm like. halfway through any given piece. It's actually infuriating lol

I love Spider-Man Noir because he's got such a Rigid way of thinking. I mean the first four issues develop his understanding of the political corruption in New York, but he's still stuck in this idea of clear cut bad guys and clear cut good guys. It makes him easy to manipulate. It makes him over-confident in himself. And I love Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without a Face because it shows that dismantling political corruption and fascism isn't a one and done battle. That the world will not always side with him because he's a force for "good". And so.

He loses.

7, 13, and 18 for the ask game thing :)
Thank you for the ask!
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
Oh that's a good one! I usually ask myself who has the most insight to give the reader on the story (ex. in Crying Wolf, Hobie's omniscient was chosen because he was the one infected by the symbiote, so his confused and at times unreliable perspective was good for the reader to piece together what was happening). When I use the switching format -- usually for longer multi-chapter fics -- it's because both characters have something to offer, or their own subplots that I want them to experience through their own eyes rather than another character's.
13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
The 'said' rule! I almost always use the dialogue tag 'said/says' unless I'm using something else for emphasis, because otherwise the flow of the prose is disrupted. I've also been leaving off tags entirely, so the dialogue stands entirely by itself, because it makes for smoother reading at times. Idk it's just something i like to stick to.
Oh, and the minimal adverb rule, save for when they give emphasis or are used in an unexpected context, but I find myself breaking that one more regularly.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
I'm all over the place with this. Sometimes it's in the middle or after. If it's in the middle, then I've just been hit with the perfect one and if it's after then I usually have to hunt for them. Often I'll fall back on the classic lyric titles but I also come up with a fair bit myself, sometimes taken from my own personal poetry.

17, 25, and 39 for the fic writer meme? :3
HI VOID HIIIIII
17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)
I usually just get depressed (that's what triggers it a lot of the time) but if I'm actively dragging myself out of it, I'll put writing down and read an actual book book cover to cover -- something that I've never read before. Then in a day or two the words should start coming back to me, but it's not always guaranteed. Worth a shot though!
25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
Ah honestly, I don't mean to sound ungrateful or greedy or anything like that but I wish selfc'est la vie had a little more reception. It's a stupid concept and it was written for me and two (maybe three) others really, but I spent just over two whole months on it and I'm really fucking proud of some of it so idk. Maybe throw some love for my little guys over or something
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
Y'all are so hungry for snippets damn!! I'm real eager to finish this one up and post it so I can get onto my actual long-form wips (I know I said that last time. And the time before that. But this time I am telling the truth I pinkie swear) so here you go <3
“I hope you find them,” Hobie says. “Who?” It’s startled out of Peter. “Someone who’s kind.” Hobie smiles crookedly. He gestures at Peter’s scarred face, his leg with its stitched gash. “I’m not gonna ask. But. Whoever they were, they weren’t kind.” Peter hasn’t thought about his scars in a long time. “They made sense in the moment,” he says. The words are foreign in his mouth.

As per the most recent ask game:
39 & 40?
Hey, thanks for the ask!
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
Mmmm alright thennn
“That is exactly what you should have done,” Karl says, though Peter suspects his irritation is more a facade for concern. He knows the type. He carefully doesn’t think of his scarred hands fluttering over the shoulders of a friend shorter than he; of glaring down at a gentle face split with a rueful grin; of a softer voice placating his own edge of concealed terror. “I didn’t want to,” Hobie says, like he’s convincing himself of a white lie. “It’s not his fault.”
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
Oh shit uhhh I don't really have a preference? Honestly go ham, anything you want to throw my way will be received with rabid glee. Maybe something for the first cigarette scene in take a bite right out of the sky, where the dialogue "D'you ever stay out in the rain?" is said??? (I'm just a sucker for them smoking together DON'T SMOKE KIDS DON'T RISK UR LUNGS FOR HOMOEROTICISM)

You know, it's actually funny that everytime i have freetime and free will - i draw Hobie.
Reasons? I have none, he just feeds all my needs in experimenting with colours and textures. Maybe that was the reason... idk, it's just refreshing (even if i draw him grumpy and bored, he's looking kissable in any mood)
