That's right, Challengers! We have decided due to expressed interest in the project to extend our Contributor Applications to March 31st where they will end at 11:59 PM EST! Our schedule remains otherwise unaffected due to this change, as Acceptance/Reject emails will still go out on April 9th, at 5:00 PM EST.

I decided to do some background practice while also developing a little story for my ocs; I also wanted to take a swing at drawing a realistic cardinal, so here you go!

I'm working on a little story for my oc, Riley, and his best friend, Rose. What I have so far is that Rose is originally a male cardinal. Still, due to childlike innocence and self-exploration, Rose decides to identify as female! It originally started with Riley naming her Rose. However, Riley was 7 and didn't understand the difference between a male cardinal and a female cardinal and just liked the color; it reminded him of a rose. Due to this and just becoming attached to Riley exploring the forest, Rose sits down and thinks for a moment, deciding she really likes the name, which develops into something more!

This story is based on a story from when I was younger. To this day, a cardinal I named Rose visits my backyard. It is a male cardinal, but when I first saw him at a very young age, he landed on my family's rose bush. He was the same color, hence the name I gave, Rose.
