This area is a death sentence without transportation. I'm running out of food, I can't get my prescriptions, can't flee in an emergency, and me and Syd have been freezing for like, a month, aside from the past two days because it's been surprisingly warm out for October. But November is around the corner, and it's gonna get cold. Fast.
I don't have the funds to repair my van, or the furnace.
Eventually, I'm gonna go homeless if the taxes aren't paid, but the van and furnace are extremely pressing matters right now.
If you can afford to donate, I'd appreciate anything you can spare. If you can't, that's okay. You can still help by sharing this campaign! Please don't donate if you can't afford to, but please SHARE no matter what!
OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON IT. YES, I AM BEGGING. I'M TERRIFIED.
Gfm requires at least $5 donation, so if you can't swing that, you can send less to:
ven.mo: https://account.venmo.com/u/rroche90 pay.pal: [email protected]
Edit, 11/7/23: And we also don't have hot water now either. When the plumber came to give me an estimate on the furnace, he found that the hot water heater had a bad leak, so that was turned off to reduce damage.
Edit, 11/12/23: Septic problems now, too. Sinks are backing up. Woo! Still no heat, btw. It's been a month without heat and it's getting colder. Friend bought Syd a bigger hospital cage, but it hasn't arrived yet, so poor girl has to continue to suffer. Still no transportation, either. HEAP has said they'll pay half the furnace bill if I'm on the deed, which I can't and won't do until the taxes are paid off. I'm not about to inherit that debt.
@sydthetiel is being kept in a tiny hospital cage in my office with a space heater. Not ideal, but it's keeping her warm at least.
We're really not okay.
Edit, 11/16/23: Still no heat or hot water. Plumber isn't even actually getting back to us lmao. Mechanic got back to us, though, and they've found that the brake lines are rusted and need to be replaced. They want an extra $3500 for that. So it'd be roughly $6,000 to get my van repaired. Or I can just fix what I can fix at $2,000 and take my chances with rusted brake lines, and be an accident waiting to happen because I'm desperate to not be trapped in a freezing house with no meds or food or water lmao. Or I just don't get to have transportation back. Or I have to buy a new used vehicle, for like, $15,000+. So... mostly there's just no hope left for me. I'm ready to just give up. It's too much to fix, and my odds of survival are at 0 anyway. I won't last the winter here, and I can't even leave.
Edit, 11/22/23: That plumber ghosted us. We got a new plumber. He came out yesterday and got the furnace rigged to work, just in time. As he pulled into the driveway, it started sleeting and snowing. Throughout the night. The problem is, the furnace isn't fixed, so it could crap out at any moment. The water heater is off, but still leaking, so it's time sensitive to have it replaced. But he's pointed out another problem with that; Rex's hoarding. We need to be able to get rid of enough of her crap to get the equipment in and out. He can do it, but it's gonna cost. Additionally, the chimney isn't in great shape so we have to do something about that, or it's going to defeat the purpose of these replacements. Waiting for the quotes on everything.
As for my van, it's ready to be picked up, without the brake lines being finished. We found a new place that said they'd charge between $700-$1000 to replace the brake lines. A lot better than $3,500, but still not money I have. So until I can do that, it's a risk driving it, but I really don't have a choice. I can't stay living like this, trapped in the middle of nowhere. It's defeating me mentally and physically. But there's another problem too, that won't be covered under warranty. A knock sensor. No idea how much it'll cost yet, but it needs to be replaced in order for the van to pass inspection in December.
I'm feeling incredibly hopeless. I can't even run, because I have Syd, and I'm not going to abandon her. She's my kiddo. She's in a bigger cage now, happily. But I'm at such a loss of what to do. We're not going to survive the winter here without these repairs, and fleeing is going to be really difficult, and I may not have a home to come back to in Spring if I did manage to leave for the winter with Syd.

Happy Halloween! (Or, it has the potential to be?)
I'm stranded during my favorite holiday. So this is me, officially trick-or-treating. A dash is a theoretical door. So with your help (sharing,) you'll bring me door (dash) to door, asking for, instead of a piece of candy, a $1 donation (you know, less than the price of a candy bar.)
Please try to help me fill my bucket (the gofundme goal,) or even overflow it so I can get back on my feet. I'm even in costume, as Negan! Syd and I are freezing here without heat, and I can't get food delivered, and I don't even have access to my prescriptions because they won't mail them and medical transportation won't stop at the pharmacy. I need my van back, and we need our furnace fixed so we can have heat again. Any surplus we get will go towards paying off last year's and this year's taxes.
go.fund.me has a $5 minimum, so if all you can spare is $1, you can send it to:
ven.mo: @rroche90 pay.pal: [email protected]
Love you all, and have a safe, fun, and happy fuckin' Halloween!
*knock knock knock* Trick-or-treat!

new tutorial, this time for "fake" medals you can use to decorate your jacket or any stuff really.
give yourself a weird award you yourself came up with, coorperations do it all the time!
Tumblr media
stuff you will need:
-scissors
-variation of pliers
-a stencil, the shape you want the fabric part of ur medal to be, make it a bit bigger so youll have room to sew
-piece of fabric two times the size of your stencil
-sewing needle
-sewing thread, i use dental floss
-safety pin
-paperclip, or just iron wire, around 1 mm Ø
-bottlecap
start with cutting out the two pieces of fabric for your medal using a stencil
Tumblr media
pin em to eachother, with the sides you want to be on the outside, facing inwards.
sew along the side but keep the top open, so you can flip it inside out.
Tumblr media
now you can flip in inside out, and fold the top around the safety pin, and sew it down
make sure the side of the pin that doesnt open is the one being sewn down. the opening part should be on top.
Tumblr media
bend the paperclip into something resembling the shapes in the pic below using the pliers, doesnt need to look good, mine sure dont
Tumblr media
bend the edges of the bottlecap to the inside, and pin the hook part of the right iron wire thing down under the edge
Tumblr media
connect the iron wire hoop you made (left in picture) to the piece of iron wire on the bottlecap. fold the point of the fabric part of the metal around the hoop and sew it down.
Tumblr media
should look something like this.
Tumblr media
now you can add decorations, you can paint the cap aswell as the fabric part, using patterned fabrics can also make ur medals look nicer.
ive seen people advise using modgepodge to seal the painted cap, instead of nailpolish, i dont have modpodge where i live but use that if youre able to get ur hands on it.
i hope this was clear, let me know if you want tutorials on any other stuff. i like doing them a lot.

if someones undercharging for commissions dont tell them they could charge more just tip them.. some times we put prices so low so we can draw in a bigger crowd esp if we need money.. if you are happy with your results even an extra 10 or 20% can help a lot and also makes us feel rly good about our art ^_^

Syd Update 2/17/23:
Syd’s had two lupron injections up to date, and just completed her sixth doxy injection today! Specialist says that’s it, until a follow-up and bloodwork in a month. She’s definitely feeling better. She’s eating normal again, and throwing tantrums when Daddy doesn’t share his food. She whines when she wants to eat but Daddy hasn’t sat down yet, because she waits for Daddy to sit down before she’ll eat. So, I think it’s safe to say she’s still missing our Tazzy boy. I’m her man now, and she’s a social eater like me.
I definitely still need help paying off my care credit, and I’ve been dealing with a whole bunch of other misfortunes. Taxes still haven’t been paid and they’re about $5,000. I just had to replace two tires on my van, plus an oil change and inspection, bringing the total to almost $500. With no public transit where I live, neither of us can survive without a functioning vehicle.
Now that I don’t have to worry about her health for a month, maybe I can focus on my own. I haven’t been doing good at all, but haven’t had time or energy to take care of my own health by time I took care of all my other responsibilities and Syd’s health. My birthday just passed, and I didn’t even get to celebrate at all. When I finally had time to make plans to do so, we ran out of fuel, because my mom isn’t doing her part in paying for bills, costing me more in emergencies (had a shut off notice on electric last month because she didn’t pay, after letting me believe she did. She hadn’t paid since October, and blamed me for why our bill is so high. Honey, those are late fees, not me running the bill high. That’s you, not me.) So I did my best to keep us warm while we waited for another emergency fill up. We have our heat back now.
linktr.ee/helpsyd
Thank you again, to everyone who’s shared our posts, interacted with our tiktok, donated, or prayed for my girlie. She’s on the mend, and we couldn’t have done this without you. We love you all <3 Please keep doing what you’re doing. It gives me a little hope to hold onto while I struggle to find any in my situation.
Tumblr media
throwback to when they were little beebs (roughly 4-5 months old. Tazzy’s the one chewing the bars.)

Long day today. Syd had her second doxy injection, and since I'm having car troubles that idek if i can afford to repair, I had to place pickup orders for groceries, so I was up all night doing that. Waiting for the last pickup. My inspection is due this month, too lmao.
Vet suggested getting her a smaller cage with a removable bottom tray for recovery so I need to rely on someone donating one, or donating the money for me to buy one, on top of the rest of her visits. This vet recommends hormone blocker implant over injections. Will discuss with specialist in 2 weeks.
Since we're treating this like psittacosis (bird chlamydia, not like std) we also have to test me because it's transmittable to humans, and I may need treatments too. Lovely, eh? I don't even have a primary care physician because mine left and my case worker hasn't done a single one of her jobs.
My mom's been moved from the hospital to another nursing home, further from home. If she stays longer than 35 days, she'll be considered long term and they'll take her check. That means I won't be able to pay any bills and I'll end up losing everything.
Every day is such a struggle. Idk wtf to do anymore. I'm so exhausted.

Online Shopping... or not.
So I think this is really important to share, for those who might not understand what it’s like to survive in a shitty area. I’m disabled. So this is what online shopping looks like when I’m snowed in, or if my vehicle is in the shop, or if I really just don’t have the energy to get out. We do not have public transit where I live, and taxis/ubers are unaffordable. I do not have someone in the community that can shop for me.
Some of these are things I currently need again, and some of these are things I buy frequently for survival. Honestly, I encourage you to reblog this to spread awareness. This is what it’s like in America now.
In stores, I buy GV pizza crust mix, for like $2. As you can see, it’s not even available in this list. But it’s $9 for Martha White (which sucks tbh. Always sticks,) and $12 + $10 for shipping, for betty crocker. That is OUTRAGEOUS. (I’m not looking for the GF so that’s like, out of the question in the first place.)

Disinfectants? Paper goods? Unavailable to ship. So I can’t clean my house, or dishes, but I also can’t buy disposable cups or plates. Go figure.

Easy carbs. As a person that’s frequently hypoglycemic, carbs are key to survival. Bread, bagels. They’re easy. Every last one is unavailable to ship.
Tumblr media
So maybe I’ll try chips for carbs. That’s sustenance. Miserable sustenance, but susten- oh right. Unavailable to ship.

Other snacks. Let’s try other snacks. Hmmm… $17 for a jar of salsa I just paid $5 for in store. I think tf not. Beef stick? What’s that say? $155/lb? It’s almost $10 for that little bit. After other results, I’m kind of surprised it’s not $20 for a single stick.

Drinks. Let’s try drinks. Soda will give me sugar so I don’t die. But let’s see what’s actually available to ship. $18 for a 6 pack of sprite. $5 in store is pushing it, but $18?! You’re joking!

I have one bottle of water left. Hydration is important. It reduces the risk of blood clots, (and I have a blood clotting disorder,) and y’know, keeps me alive. But I can’t drink tap water. It makes me throw up. Same with certain brands of water. Poland Springs has been a pretty safe water for me to drink. Let me get some… or maybe not? Over $30 for a case of water? Guess I’ll dehydrate.
Tumblr media
So let me get this straight; I can’t hydrate, I can’t get soda for sugar, I can’t get chips or snacks. I can’t even get bread to make pbj sandwiches. No bagels either. Or pizza crust mix, to even attempt to make my own bread or meal or anything. I can’t get dish soap to wash my dishes, but I can’t get paper plates or plastic cups. I can’t even get disinfectants to clean my house. Hell, I can’t even get tissues to blow my nose after crying from an extremely failed online shopping trip.
And Amazon isn’t any better when it comes to this.
So what’s a guy to do when I’m snowed in? Or if I’m in too much pain to go shopping? Or if I have car troubles? We don’t have public transit in my area.
What am I supposed to do?! How is any of this okay?!
And you wanna know the worst part?
I was supposed to go shopping today, but I really just couldn’t function. I went out for dinner. It took me 4 hours to just manage to do that. My brakes felt a little off. A little clicky. It’s been really cold, and since this wasn’t consistent, I assumed it was just that. The cold. However, when I turned my car on after dinner, so I could go home, this is what I see. So I guess it’s a good thing I couldn’t manage to make myself drive 30 minutes from home for some groceries, but now I’m stuck without anything in the house.

So the reality of not having access to a vehicle is yet another issue I have to face. (ABS & ESC OFF lights, as well as speedometer temporarily not working) I don’t know what the problem is, if it’ll be covered, if I’ll be able to afford the repair, or how long it will take. @sydthetiel has a vet appointment on Tuesday. I couldn’t get shopping done. I need help taking the trash out. And now I may need to beg for a ride just to take my girl to the vet. I literally don’t have anything to drink, and I don’t have carbs, and I don’t know if my van is safe to drive.
2023 is off to a great start, huh? Now what?
