===-> Coelpts: Post the introductory art you made of your Fankid.
A girl stands in a despairingly messy bedroom. This young lady seems like she just can't sit still despite the static nature of the image above, glancing out the window and shifting her weight this way and that as she anxiously, nay, EXCITEDLY waits for...something. What something? Maybe she'll tell you if you enter a name for her!
===-> Enter name after the jump.
Oh, come on, she's heard worse- though she will give you credit for the fun word choice. You can do better than that! REALLY give her something to work with or guess her ACTUAL name! You already know it, don't you?
===-> Try again.
That's more like it!
I've been doing some roleplay recently and this girl has been on the brain and in my art. Expect more of her sooner rather than later.
Listen, if you've got a televised execution against a group of scrappy rebels trying to oppose your glorious galactic empire, you HAVE to break out the regalia. What's the point otherwise?
I'm using @icannotreadcursive's OC-tober 2023 prompt list!
I couldn't find any OC-tober prompt lists for this year that worked well for writers as well as visual artists, so I've made one specifically meant for both!
If you use this list, please tag me here @icannotreadcursive, I'd love to see your writing and art!

So far every Art Fight I've wanted to try something outside my normal wheelhouse. Unfortunately for a solid week and a half I was out of commission with a wrist sprain, meaning I felt like I sort of stagnated this year. But as the final day began to approach, I realized that I might be able to do something I had never tried before- a quick and dirty animatic with Ciel and @swan-swanno's Mikhail, an idea made over two years ago now.
This is not an animatic. In my hubris I jumped from rough sketch directly to actual animation, with full lip syncing and hair physics. I went nearly nonstop from 9:30 AM the preceding day all the way up to the hour before the event ended at 11 AM my time, only stopping thrice to eat and sleep. In total, I was working on this for nearly 15 hours.
Is it rough? Absolutely. Could some effects be better? Totally. Am I proud of it all the same? Yes, 100%. It's my very first, and I am so, so happy I was able to make it at all.
You can also check out this animation on Youtube!
I was part of Team Vampires for Artfight 2023! I hope you all had a good time this year!
This was the big attack I had planned for this year. I really, REALLY wanted to draw @swan-swanno's Iyovka and @dad-cetemol's Antonin having a domestic moment- and the idea that came to mind was the two of them getting ready for their day in the morning. This one took some concentrated effort, mainly because the image here is a reflection so I had to flip the canvas a few times to get it right, along with all the mirrored props and research into period accurate sleepwear and shaving implements.
I love how it came out, in the end. One of my favorite pieces this year by far.
@smartasspikachu, @epsilon04, Khalimar and I are in a tabletop game of Madcap DM'd by @typefourty- so I thought I'd make a little piece on what our Evil Inc. guys are up to in Acrylla on an every day basis!
I was in a short little roleplay with @typefourty, @bardofhype, and @collaberal-damage with some of our funny lil folk having a quiz show! Unfortunately for Aria, Nomh, Friday, and Cecil and have unionized.
This piece of @dad-cetemol's Omagh and my dear guy Ransan has actually quite a bit of context and symbology behind it. At some point I'll write about it properly, but for now you get Omagh with a glass of sink water and Ransan with a cup of hot chocolate ruminating on their choices.
I saw GreenPlattycat's Lisa Renard on the front page while I was trying to get back into my art groove and, honestly, I think she looks so sweet. I just had to give her a shot.
The pose, clothing design, coloration, and branding for this poster of @epsilon04's Tempos is sort of a callback to one of his very, very, VERY old pieces, dating back to the first year of his daily drawings. It's something I've wanted to do for actual years, and this year I finally got the energy and inspiration to do it!
I learned my friend @dad-cetemol is allergic to nuts recently, and had to metaphorically pry them away from a jar of hazelnut spread so they didn't get sick. This was meant to be a quick and easy shitpost doodle, and then very suddenly stopped being that. Oh well!
