Before the start of the day, Trigger had woken to begin his work. 

A few things needed to get done before they would allow him to go free and so he'd kicked Gully into action as well. Dragging the older sphintz out despite his bellyaching, but promised to cover Gully the next time he decided to sneak off to see his little girlfriend. 

 "Chff! I don't sneak off..." He argued around a yawn and stretched his arms up and over, folding them behind his head while they walked. The marketplace was still in the midst of arrangement and the daylight program had yet to kick into gear, leaving the overhead dome transparent to the eternal night skies beyond. Gully squinted sourly at this, thinking it a primordial sin to be up so early. Especially after a night of drinking 'til some unspeakable time and hardly catching more than three hours of sleep before this cretin thought it a good idea to haul his ass out of bed. 

It was when Gully glimpsed in his direction that he saw Trigger side-eying him in that dubious manner, which made Gully look away. Guiltily. "... Well, I don't always." He corrected himself, then a thought occurred to him. "Why are you in such a bitch hurry to get this shit done?" Now it was Gully's turn to eye the smaller sphintz, craning his head in Trigger's direction to further emphasize his question. 

But Trigger was as cool as a cucumber and responded without missing a beat, "I want to go to the library." 

Gully exhaled a long, drawn-out groan, "nnnnnoooooooOOOOoooo! There is NO WAY! What the hell kinda book would you need, to be there at the crack of FUCKING DAWN?? Are you expecting a queue?? Is it the Book of Kur? Is there some kinda book signing?! This is fucking BULLSHIT!" His tone grew more irritable the more likely it sounded to be one of those things. There was no telling with Trigger. The guy couldn't lie, but he sure as hell made up for it with how vague he could be at times. 

Gully needed food and while he squabbled with himself, Trigger went ahead and collected a couple of hot wraps from a stall. Gully couldn't function on less than minimum sleep, and even less so on an empty stomach. So when Trigger presented the steamy, meat filled pocket, he quieted down and grumpily accepted the offering. 

"You're like a child," Trigger sighed while he nibbled at his own. He didn't need as much as his partner and after consuming a third of it, he offered what was left to the bigger sphintz.

Snippet: Victory

At the end of a HUGE battle, corpses everywhere, Zintkala ascends from the debris and her eyes glaze over with tears. She tries to fight them and desperately swipes her hands over her face as an overwhelming amount of relief washes over her. 

Dal Mardig and Anugrah watch her from a distance.

Anu: There’s your princess.

Dal: Mm.

Anu: Victory looks good on her. She-

Zintkala throws her head back with a wail and proceeds to ugly cry.

Anu: Uh...

Dal: She’s beautiful.

Anu: ... I wouldn’t call her that.

Side Story: Hush

Gully hungrily kissed the length of Behr’s pale throat while he dragged at the half-kur’s clothing, exposing a white shoulder, which lifted with sensitive tension. Behr was both nervous and excited at once, tilting his head back with a gasp as his partner ravaged the untouched skin.

Behr was straddling Gully’s lap, mostly clothed except for the layers Gully was in the midst of peeling off. Gully himself, was already stripped down and ready, his hide still damp from a shower he’d only had minutes before. He smelled fresh and scented by some unknown soap brand, and the impromptu cleanliness was something Behr appreciated.

This was a situation that had been steadily building over the last few months. Neither one of them could root out when the feelings between them had changed or why, but somehow, somewhere along the line, what had started as passing glances and affectionate touches, over time had turned into firm fondling and deep kisses.

Of course, Gully was more forthcoming with his willingness to pursue this new found territory, and even though Behr was sometimes the one to instigate their make-out sessions, he was also apprehensive about the intimacy. Only allowing Gully to go so far and no more. Behr liked to call the shots and needed to feel in control, even if Gully was able to coax him ever so often into letting things progress just a bit further. “Baby steps.” The sphintz called it, even though it was aggravating to find himself blue-balled and left to resolve the problem on his own once Behr had had enough. It drove Gully crazy, but he tried to be understanding. The last thing he wanted was to deter Behr from it completely, and lashing out would do that.

So, Gully was patient.

His erection already stirred from its sheath and the firm length lifted against the rear that bore down on it. Occasionally, Behr would grind against Gully’s lap and this only served to urge Gully on. His breaths were deep and mixed with the sound of his lips passing over Behr’s skin; his fingers hooked into the hybrid’s clothing as he managed to haul the layers down to Behr’s narrow waist. Gully wanted access to the rest of him and soon pulled the hacker aside and onto the bed with Gully looming over top of him.

Their gazes met and before Gully could say something, Behr pressed his fingers to the sphintz’s mouth. “Don’t ask.” He murmured, already sensing Gully’s question.

To which, Gully responded with a kiss.
