Art Box Showcase

Good afternoon! Last Friday I was given the suggestion by @peridot-the-photographer to open up an artbox so people here can send their artwork. I thought it was a wonderful idea and so each week after taking care of grading papers and preparing classwork I will go through and see the different pieces you have sent!

Very lovely little Applin! The minimalist lines do very well to tell us what it is!

I think I've seen this before, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

Oh that is a VERY detailed eye! ... and honestly a perfect conveyor of how I've felt sometimes when drawing a full figure.

Oh goodness, this is very well done! Doubly impressive since I don't think this program allows for layers!

Also be careful not to over-water; the time you water is also vital to plant and Grass-type health.

Now that spring's in bloom, gardens everywhere are a poppin' up! This means I'll have a handful o' plants and grass types to care for.

Lots o' places now will be gettin' a fair bit o' newly hatched grass types. Always check yer gardens for those little sprouts, since certain fertilizers can harm grass types. And don't go usin' no pesticides now too. Bug types are a vital importance to certain plant growth! But if yeh want to keep 'em away, ground up coffee beans should do the trick.

Now make an old man proud with yeh whippersnappers gardens, alrighty?

People often say to me: “You draw like some kind of inhuman machine.  If I eat your brain, will I gain your power?”  The answer is yes, but there is another way. The key to precise drawing is building up muscle memory so that your arm/hand/fingers do the things you want them to do when you want them to do them.  Teaching yourself to draw a straight line or to make sweet curves is just a matter of practice and there are some exercises you can do to help improve. If you’re going to be doodling in class or during meetings anyway, why not put that time to good use?

Assuming you had the means to care for it properly, what Pokemon that you don't currently have would you be most interested in training?

Tis quite a sizable list! There are quite a few brilliant poison types I would gladly train!

If I must choose only one, I would gladly train a Bellsprout! I find Victreebel to be a most fascinating poison type! What I wouldn't give to have one at my side...

hi!! my library had a piggy bank painting event and i put applins on mine so i thought i would show you :] i don’t think i did the best job because i’m more used to digital art but i’m still proud of it

OHHHH IT'S SO CUTE!!!

I think you did a very good job, even if this is your first time with traditional media! I am far more used to traditional media, but I know it must be so much more difficult when the digital media allows you to erase any mistakes you make.

I applaud your effort, and hope you continue to try more pieces like this!
