I decided to go on a Hiatus because I want to step back from prsk fandom buat I need to say something about this take (warning for Ensekai leaks)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Translation is fucking hard
What's impressive about this scene is Tsukasa specifically use BOKU (僕) and not his preferred pronoun ORE (オレ) to call himself
The emphasis is there so the JP readers could understand how impactful the fact that Tsukasa is not even using his preferred first pronoun because he's actually not being himself but being RIO EVEN IN HIS OWN HEAD
Tsukasa isn't being himself. On the contrary, he's completely, 100% become Rio at that moment
While English has a lot of third person pronouns, Japan has a lot of first person pronouns (compared to English measly "I"). Just like Western has their preferred pronouns, so does Japanese (of course their 1st person pronoun is interchangeable in the context of social interactions). Too bad that this nuance for Tsukasa's dialogue can't be replicated in English. I argue that putting emphasis on the "I" actually do Jack Shit because the emphasis is on the DIFFERENT PRONOUN IN JP. It's like when you hear someone calls a person as a "he" for a long time but then one person suddenly calls that person as "she" (I think, I know western are kinda sensitive on their pronouns but I can't really relate). Anyway it's THAT jarring
The second line is where the tl team kinda needs to wrack their brain, 届かない. No subject, no object. The scene before the sentence flashed back to Tsukasa crying after remembering how he felt how unreachable his own Phoenix is, and it's how he understands Rio's helplessness right at that moment. Using "it" actually makes the sentence sounds pretty vague. What does "it" refer to? "The level that he wants to reach?" It only applied to Tsukasa and not Rio. "The phoenix"? Kinda rude to call the phoenix as "it" though. Besides, using EN pronouns, Tsukasa's phoenix is a "he" while Rio's phoenix is a "she". That's why JP can have that sweet ambiguity while the EN translators need to think super hard about the implied object here.
There's two nuances happening here, and the Ensekai tl team decided to translate it by context of Tsukasa AS Rio: "I can't reach her". I'm guessing that they agreed that the flashback to that scene in chapter 7 means that Tsukasa at that moment completely understands Rio, HE'S RIO BECAUSE HE USES 僕, so they decided that it's Rio's thought and not Tsukasa even though the text box says Tsukasa and the JP implied that Rio and Tsukasa become one. I think the the EN line is okay, kinda missing some deep nuances but that's what translation is. You can't expect to be able to translate all those cultural nuances.
Maybe the alternatives might be "I can't reach my/the phoenix?" More straightforward but we can have a nice title drop lol

Hi i just wanted to add abt the being swallowed by the role thing: after curtain call, one of the area convos he has with rui after has them practicing their next show and rui comments how kasa’s acting unnaturally stiff, and kasa says some of the habits of the android he played must have remained
its…..a little foreboding i think 😭
Tumblr media
Woah, I forgot this area convo exist, nice catch anon!
So Tsukasa being too deep in his role has been a problem since way back since curtain call. Now that I think about it, from how Tsukasa always refer to his role as Torpe whenever he talks about the start of his progress as an actor make me wonder if it's also the starting point of his current problem...
Torpe is the first role where Tsukasa had to step out fron his comfort zone, acting a role that is really different from how he he usually is. And he succeeded because he realized that him and Torpe weren't that different after all, but maybe... he projected Torpe too much? It's difficult because for all Torpe is unlike Tsukasa, that role is actually like him on a subconscious level. And because his role as Torpe is so successful, he thinks that putting the same amount of devotion for all his roles just like he did for Torpe is the way to go. And the problem with that has apparently been hinted since after curtain call.

what do you think about how tsukasa acting ? is his procedure some kind of method acting ?
(spoiler for protagonist story event)
during his acting, rui is commenting with concerned face about him "becoming" his character and tsukasa got "too involved" today (rui also think about the practice before, that tsukasa is doing fine with balance of his charatcer's shining but yeah he got too involved on chapter). i just think that if the story it has anything to do with this ? not just balance and ability to read the flow of the show but with tsukasa's procedure. method acting is such a risky procedure btw.
tbh i doubt that pjsk will touch this issue but still wonder what will be tsukasa's conflict during this act (plus the world link that gonna come around like march 2024, maybe SEKAI related conflicts ?)
Oooooh boy I was like clapping my hands when I saw that. Especially when Tsukasa was monologuing in his mind, the name in the text box is not Tsukasa but Nakayama. Like, holy he managed to be him. Good for you, Tsukasa! Nakayama is really alive! This feels like Rio all over again woohoo!!
But then Rui is like "oh this is bad" because Tsukasa's acting is too good he destroyed the balance of the stage. In other words, a supporting role needs to be in the background, but Tsukasa is too eye-catching so he just unnaturally stood out. Whoops. (Kato director also said that Tsukasa is a man who had light in him but an actor needs to learn how to tone it down and we know Tsukasa is anything but that, especially because he usually plays as the main character).
I think the reason why Tsukasa was able to balance Nakayama the supporting role and Nakayama the person in practice is because there is no audience. We know that Tsukasa always strives to be the best for all his audiences, so he just... got into too deep with Nakayama because he wants his audience to feel that Nakayama is alive. Bakuno also plays the supporting role because he wants them to be in the spotlight, but Bakuno himself naturally doesn't stand out that much and he thought of the supporting roles as companions. On the other hand, Tsukasa naturally stands out, so when he plays the supporting role as the main character and he got too deep into his role the supporting role also stands out.
I also think that his approach to acting is shifting now ever since Phoenix? I've read about method acting before (and I agree Tsukasa employs that tactic too), and I think you're right while Tsukasa is making leaps and bounds of progress he's also slowly going down a slippery slope. He's literally endangering his own health in his own quest to understand Rio after all and it's not... a really good thing imo. Somehow it feels like... Tsukasa is being swallowed by the characters? Like, he doesn't make those roles as his but he's the one that becomes them. I'm glad that Tsukasa has a strong sense of identity so he could go back to being himself after he stepped off the stage but what if one day he took it a bit too far? Like, in his own quest to perfect a role he hurt himself or others, or he internalized a character too much there's a shift in his personality or habit. Imagine if he plays as a horrible person and he's too deep in character? God, that would've sucked.
I don't know if proseka would discuss it but I hope they would at least discuss how to balance yourself and your characters with Tsukasa's plotline.
I discussed what I think WxS world link event would be in another ask, so maybe you can read that one too, anon!

hi ! i really like your analysis ! thanks for great analysis on tsukasa and WxS. tbh, i'm really exited about how WxS World Link Event could be ?! like, it will effect the SEKAI somehow. i would like to hear if you have any opinion on WxS World link ! it's always fun to read your opinion and analysis.
Ooooh! WxS World Link Event!!
One thing I have been curious about Wonderland SEKAI and the plot for WxS is how much WxS is all about the future (goals, dreams) and yet their (or Tsukasa's SEKAI) is about the feelings that he have held since he was young, which is "wanting to make others smile". But now that Tsukasa is striving higher (world-level star) and it's not only a dream but something he could realistically aim for, where in the SEKAI is his ambition reflected in?? I mean, in one of the area convos Nene and Rui said that Wonderland SEKAI is so big they thought there are areas they haven't known yet. So, maybe rather than a new location appearing, the VS just decided to show them said area because now they're working towards the same goal as an independent troupe and not just a bunch of friends working together, and they also think that it'll help Tsukasa in the long run if he knows about it too...?
Soooo I think World Link Event will open up an area that will reflect his ambition one way or another. My evidence for that is:
The above about how Wonderland SEKAI reflects Tsukasa's wish to make everyone happy but not his current goal which is to become world-class star--something that has been his main plot point ever since Pop in My Heart. Also, we need to clear it up that WxS is created from Tsukasa's feelings alone because unlike how intertwined Mafuyu's plotline with Empty SEKAI is, people who didn't read WxS main story thought that Wonderland SEKAI is WxS' collective SEKAI or even Emu's because of how whimsical it is and how it doesn't reflect the current Tsukasa.
The many contents for WxS!MEIKO recently (cards and com songs). I have a running theory that she represents(?) Tsukasa's ambition and boldness because most her appearance are always in events about the future (she first appeared in the Christmas event where WxS got their first 'rival'; Island Panic, Pop in My Heart, Phoenix Sky, and Our Happy Ending events are also related to the future of WxS).
There's a JP twt post about how the new stamps for 25 are related to their World Link Event story (Mafuyu thinking about how she wanted to be with everyone still, Mizuki about how they also needed to think about what they'd do after running away, Ena decided to face her struggles head on now that she knew she could help, and I haven't read Kanade's yet but probably about how she wishes for Mafuyu to be happy), so I believe all groups' (including WxS) are also related to their world link story as well
Tumblr media
With that in mind, I want to guess that the chapters will go Tsukasa -> Emu -> Nene -> Rui. Maybe it'd be obvious that the feelings that create whatever-the-new-location-is is not from the feeling of wanting to make everyone smile. So when confronted with such a location in SEKAI, Tsukasa is confused about what it means for him (and finally accepts that it's his feelings ALONE that created Wonderland SEKAI) because he doesn't understand why whatever-it-will-be is in his SEKAI in the first place. And then Emu comes to the rescue, telling Tsukasa not to think about his own feelings alone and that they'll figure it out together as WxS. They talk and then come to the conclusion that the new location is a reflection of Tsukasa's ambition to aim for a world-level stage. So Nene renews her resolve again, because she thinks of Tsukasa as a fellow rival and she doesn't want to lose to him in terms of feelings. And lastly, Rui promises Tsukasa that he will draws out Tsukasa's potential as the best director Tsukasa can ask for, now that he knows how big Tsukasa's ambition is.
So... I guess the short version of the what I think WxS World Link event would be is: Tsukasa reflects on his present feelings, Emu and Rui resolve to support Tsukasa (and Nene), and Nene resolves not to lose against Tsukasa.

Hiii I like ur Tsukasa posts! I was just wondering abt your thoughts on the WxS section of the Sekai no Oto album, I think both songs are really interesting, especially in comparsion to each other & their portrayal of (Tsukasa’s) passion
ShowtimexAudience seems to be more about the past and regrets, while LEADER is abt struggling towards the future? I don’t wanna ramble too much so what do u think abt them?
(sorry for the late reply, I may come back to edit this later)
Oooh, I agree about how ShowtimexAudience is leaning more towards the past struggle and LEADER is more about the present struggle and future.
I think that both stories is about how the VS see Tsukasa's struggle and their wish to support him. ShowtimexAudience, just like SekaHaji, has a very cheerful tone but has some downer lines, while LEADER sounds more dramatic and still has some downer lines . (I haven't seen other groups' image songs yet but damn L/N!Miku one is such a downer for most of the song).
I feel like ShowtimexAudience feels more childlike, and it has this feeling of loneliness and anticipation for a more fun future. On the other hand, LEADER is more reflective(?), and there's this feeling of anxiousness and wish for a happier future. I like how both songs put emphasis on the future they hope for and someone's struggle both in the past and the present.
And 1 point I love about both songs is that they talked about "that someone" crying and their reactions to it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tears in ShowtimexAudience didn't really mention why "that someone" was crying. But taken from the whole song it's probably because he was suffering alone, giving up on so many things, losing his own confidence, and thinking that his dream was only a dream. But the song also said that Miku would celebrate with that crying someone, to let him know that his tears and struggle in all those time are not in vain.
Meanwhile, the tears in LEADER is more about the tears being suppressed. If we looked at the previous lines, that someone is probably crying because he felt anxious of not being able to reach his goal just because he felt pain. So, the tears in LEADER is more about his pain in the present now that his dream has become his goal. KAITO wanted that someone to be able to accept that pain and not toss his pain away, and so KAITO guides that person.
So from both songs, Miku and KAITO want that certain someone to not deny his past and present pain and struggle, and that they would be there with that person---guiding him, lifting him up, and loving him.
Also, another thing that both songs share other than future and tears is love. ShowtimexAudience talks about doing things that you love, how because of love that someone gets farther away from his own dream, and how Miku and that someone will use love as nourishment for the next show (in this song love use the words suki and daisuki). LEADER talks about how his heart burns with love for the bright future, and how his and that someone's love for others' happiness will echo throughout the world/SEKAI (in this song love use the words ai). Several JP blogs say that the difference between suki and ai is more about the perspective--you use suki to show your interest in something/someone but you use ai to show how much you cherish something/someone.
So yeah, in a way that's why ShowtimexAudience feels more childlike compared to LEADER. That love is still something that's interesting for that someone, but it grew into something that that someone cherishes and nurture. Fitting, because like you said ShowtimexAudience is more about his past struggle connecting to the present and LEADER is more about his present struggle connecting to the future.

hihi!! i've been wondering whether tsukasa had known the sekai existed like wayy before the wxs main story (but he forgot abt it for some reason) idk mainly bc of the vs version of 88☆彡?? it really seemed like miku and kaito were singing to tsukasa (or younger tsukasa) maybe the sekai had been formed when tsukasa was only a child when he was suffering from loneliness and kaito and miku kept him company then!! just wanna hear your thoughts (,, . ̫. ,,)
I'm sorry for the late reply! (/□\*)
AND THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO LET ME GUSH ABOUT 88☆彡!!!
Nothing has been confirmed about when a sekai is created (including wonderland sekai), but it's a popular fancanon in both EN and JP fandom (that I also agree with) that wonderland sekai is created since Tsukasa was young. And 88☆彡 is also added as another evidence like you said. And I also agree that they want to snuggle the lonely Tsukasa with warmth just like Tsukasa did with Saki and Toya (and later on WxS)
Anyway, I agree with you that 88☆彡 is a song from WxS!Miku and WxS!KAITO for Tsukasa, both the younger and older him (because I think Tsukasa still had some "habits" from his childhood). Well, my headcanon is WxS!Miku is the imaginary childhood friend, a cheerful and fun big sister to cheer up young Tsukasa. When Saki's hospitalization keep getting longer and Tsukasa felt the absence of their parents more (specifically middle school), WxS!KAITO appeared as the imaginary adult proxy, a gentle and dependable big brother that young Tsukasa admired to be (because WxS!KAITO appeared at the half-end of the song).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shot of Miku standing alone before a lone piano and empty theater hall in the beginning is shown with the lyrics of "You smile/laugh". It kinda feels like Miku is seeing the old lonely Tsukasa, isn't it? I think I have written in this blog before how the piano is a symbolism/metaphor of the loneliness and sadness Tsukasa felt. And just like Tsukasa, Miku is the "pierrot" who never wavers to make everyone smile. Even if there was no one to hear her music, she could keep smiling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another shot of the VS' backs, but this time Miku isn't alone! It feels like with age and experience, Tsukasa's world has expanded. And with it, another VS appears--KAITO, the troupe leader that embodies who Tsukasa wants to be. The lyrics "This isn't enough, right?"/"Of course, it's not." / "He can go further, right?" Just feels like the both of them have a conversation that wonderland sekai will keep expanding and they'll be watching over it with anticipation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the piano is still standing alone in an empty theater hall, so Miku the pierrot brought KAITO the chairman to that place. Now we see KAITO to be the one to play that piano, to fill the emptiness and the silence just like Miku did. The older Tsukasa didn't want nor need Miku's childish tricks anymore to cheer him up anymore. He needed guidance and advice from a reliable older figure to move forward towards his dream. The stage is brighter, yet the seats are still empty like it was before. While we were shown how Miku smiled when she heard KAITO's, KAITO's face wasn't shown here, unlike Miku. I wonder if he could smile as well... What did he feel about the hidden loneliness and melancholy? KAITO embodies Tsukasa's feeling to keep moving forward, so I wonder...
Tumblr media
When we see his expression when he's playing the piano, he's smiling. However, the piano isn't in the dark theater hall anymore--it's in the middle of the colorful world that was born from Tsukasa's feelings. In Dazzling Stage, Tsukasa remembered his how lonely and sad he felt, yet he brought out those feelings to be able to reach for his dreams. No wonder we can see KAITO smiling here. He's happy that Tsukasa's loneliness isn't tucked away somewhere no one could see anymore. Tsukasa has grown enough to realize that he needed those feelings in his world.
And then this sequence appeared.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All this time, Miku is always shown to be smiling. Whether she's alone, with KAITO, or seeing how the balloons fly freely to the sky, there's always a smile on her face. Yet the only time she's not smiling, the time her "pierrot" act breaks is because she's surprised that something that she's been "waiting for" finally "makes an appearance". And then she smiles again. There's always a fragile happiness to her smiles all throughout the MV, but her smile at the end is at first gentle, carrying a feeling of "he'll be okay", and then joy as she reached out her hand for the sun and the bright future now that those loneliness and pain are freed from isolation.
Just compare that sequence and the sequence with the same lyrics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She smiles when she knows whoever she has been waiting for makes an appearance, but the shot is kinda blurry---not everything has been in the open yet. The future was still filled with so much uncertainty. After all, she and the piano are still alone in that theater hall. But it's fine. When she opens her eyes, the shot isn't blurry anymore. She's the pierrot, so she can keep smiling even though the light that she reached out for were artificial... Only an imitation of the brightness of a blue sky.
...But talking about WxS!Miku song and its relations to Tsukasa, did you know about the the songs in SEKAI no Oto? Showtime x Audience is the WxS!Miku's image song and there are some interesting lines in it that maybe kinda hinted that Wonderland SEKAI has been around for a lot longer, one of them are the 2nd chorus (with a kinda rough translation):
最初っから全部わかってたのに 思い知らされて (Even though [I] know from the beginning, [I was] reminded)
一緒に面白がってくれた友達も “卒業”して居なくなった ([of] the friends who shared their fun together and has "graduated" and gone too)
続けることが一番難しくて 諦めたこと、たくさんあるよ ([I] have given up on a lot of things because keep going on is the most difficult [thing] to do)
後悔する時間もないステージだ (This is a stage where there is no time for regret)
It's a song about Tsukasa obviously, which I think span across from before the main story to Sky's Edge/Phoenix, but what of the friends who "graduated" and gone? Thinking of the song, this part is probably related to Dazzling Stage, and we know that it's the closest event where we know (a part) of Tsukasa's struggle in the past.
Most likely the things that Tsukasa used to make a show for Saki. I still didn't understand how he "had given up a lof of things to keep moving forward", but maybe because remembering them too much is painful?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of the things in that sekai are the things Tsukasa had forgotten about like Usa-chan, some of the posters, and most notably the song the flowers like to sing that KAITO had said to be important for Tsukasa but when Nene asked him he said he didn't remember. He did remember some things, but there are also things that he had no clue about. So where did his strong feelings are related to those things came from? Well, the most probable answer is his childhood.
He was surprised at first when he remembered Usa-chan, but when he remembered some of the things in sekai he didn't look and sound surprised anymore, he was... upset? Definitely an unusual reaction. But it also tracks with the next line about how he "didn't have time for regret". It somehow tracks with how he forgot how lonely and sad he felt back in middle school and focused on wishing Saki to get well soon and cheering her up. He "gave up" on feeling lonely (among many things) so he could keep moving forward. Maybe the items in his sekai are related to those he need to discard to be able to presevere back in middle school.
L/N still remembered how some of the items in their SEKAI are related to their fond childhood memories together, so no wonder those items were there in Classroom SEKAI. But Tsukasa didn't. The most likely thing is that young Tsukasa cherished those things so much so they appeared in wonderland SEKAI but as he got older he forgot about them. The older Tsukasa clearly didn't have strong feelings for them anymore, so it's unlikely those items just appeared when he's a high schooler.
(My headcanon is that the plushies and other items/song keep Tsukasa company, but because those things reminded him of the lack of Saki & their parents at home he decided to throw/put them away to be forgotten. Or maybe there was a big cleaning time before Saki was discharged from her long-term hospitalization and Tsukasa threw them away cause they're old and might compromised Saki's health no matter how fond he was to them. Or maybe they are somehow related to bad memories at the end like maybe Tsukasa thought Saki was forcing herself to smile when he performed for her with thoae items and he felt like a huge failure because of it.)
.....and I'm rambling again lol.
So, yeah! SekaHaji, 88☆彡, and now Showtime x Audience kinda hinted that maybe, just maybe, Wonderland SEKAI is the oldest SEKAI (while the newest one might be Street SEKAI because they need Kohane to gain access/complete it).

Okay, now my appreciation post for WxS digest anime
I love how theatrical it is!! But first, have some of Tsukasa's poses first
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And some of his pathetic expressions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes I wonder why I even like him, but that's okay, he's adorable.
I love how it opens with a curtain and WxS!Miku greeting us (and the blue balloon before the title), and how the curtain and the close-up of Tsukasa's eyes are showing the viewers parts of the play--the prologue, the conflict to the falling action, and then the denouement. Very neat, and no wonder they shuffle the game's prologue to when Tsukasa realizes his feelings in the main story (chapter 13) because it is supposed to be the climax of the play. And the music!! The fun orchestral part only plays on prologue and denouement, while it's very quiet in the middle to build the atmosphere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tsukasa definitely looks pathetic and embarrassing in the early parts of the digest anime, but I don't think his ridiculous expressions can defeat that meme-able Akito's expression lol
And it was really obvious compared to other units digest anime, but Tsukasa is definitely the star of the show (pun intended). In L/N main story, Ichika is not present for one of the most important moments (Honami & Shiho) and everyone have their moments to shine. In MMJ and VBS, Shizuku & Airi and Akito & Toya have their own plots where Minori & Kohane take a backseat role.
In WxS main story, Tsukasa is the protagonist who moves the plot along (and Emu as the deuteragonist). He's the main character who gets invited by the weird girl, invited the rest of the cast, makes the unit fall apart, finds the strength and will to make it all up, and gathers all of them together again. This digest highlights it by showing no two characters interact together without Tsukasa (except the hiding Nene and WxS!Miku).
And the climax, god, how much the flashback focuses on Saki's smiles makes me feel so much warmth. Tsukasa is focusing so much on Saki's smiles that he wants to make her smile as bright as that too. I also love how it shows how Tsukasa just duct-taped some cardboard as makeshift wings for a show for Saki. You can see how much effort Tsukasa did to make her smile, and even though it looked pathetic and shabby, he didn't care as long as she smiled.
........It's the 88☆彡 reference again.... the early lines...
"I’m sure somewhere along the way, I realized (this is…) Just a child’s play (La La La~ sparkling, twinkling) You showed your smile"
In that hospital room, Tsukasa knowing that it's just a poor imitation of the wonderful play that they saw together, but he didn't care because the important thing is that Saki is smiling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love them.
I like (most of the) scenes that they choose, and I like how over-the-top the scene between Emu and Tsukasa in the beginning, and Nenerobo is also adorable.
Everyone is adorable, actually, even the 180 cm Rui.
Actually, Rui's solo scene in his garage just goes to show how disappointed Rui was by what happened. He's not only just angry at Tsukasa for blaming Nene so harshly, but he's also sad because his hopes of having friends to do shows together became naught again. In the beginning where Tsukasa asked him to do shows together (12,000%), it's obvious that Rui didn't really trust him but deep in his heart he wanted to trust Tsukasa. Rui saying "you can't become a star" to Tsukasa might hurt him as much as it hurt Tsukasa, added by the pain of having his trust betrayed by hurting his dear childhood friend.
But the Emu and Nene capture Rui together scene is very adorable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And have this Tsukasa reaching out to Rui with the light behind him.
As expected of a future star.

OOOOOOOH THE DIGEST ANIME IS GREAT!! I'll do an appreciation post later, but first let me say this:
Why did they do this
Tumblr media
I don't remember if they shuffle the scene in other group summary videos, but by doing this they cut a Tsukasa & Emu moment? Just ending it on a very sad note about Emu saying she gives up?? Without animating Tsukasa's pep talk?? WHY!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have Tsukasa asking for Nene and Rui's hands but not Emu?? Why?? I love the ferris wheel scene, that's kinda the time Wonderlands x Showtime begins for the second time again, so why???
I know that maybe they want to connect Emu's line about how everyone's smile disappear to Tsukasa's realization about how he just wants to make Saki smile at first, but by cutting Tsukasa & Emu moment?? That's foul!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, this is the order of what happened in the game and I think it's totally fine, because everyone is doing some sort of self reflection before Tsukasa apologizes to everyone and asks them to do shows together again.
SO IS THERE ANY REASON TO SHUFFLE THE FERRIS WHEEL SCENE?!?!?
Edit:
Like, this is 20 seconds (speeded up a little), so the final runtime would just be the same as vbs digest anime. The flow of the scene can be "Emu saying she gives up" - "Tsukasa's flashback" - "Tsukasa encouraging Emu". I wonder why they didn't add this, they don't even animate this in Gunjo Sanka. At least let us see Emu smiles for taking Tsukasa's hand too... (╥﹏╥)

You should watch "Tsukasas theory of happiness" by zen and the "Pierrot" animation by setsumi.22 on yt! to be frank they both made me tear up a bit lol, but id like to hear your thoughts! theyre both very nice and i think the lyrics fit tsukasa well!
Ooooh, I've seen those two videos and yeah, I'm not just tearing up, the tears ran down my cheeks (>︿<。)
The lyrics for Ayano Koufuku Riron and Pierrot definitely suit Tsukasa, and I like how much focus the Ayano Koufuku Riron animation has for Saki, Toya, and Tsukasa's dynamic pre-main story because it's definitely related to how Tsukasa forgot his true feelings (three of MMJ members forgot their true feelings due to painful experiences, and the double combo of sad Saki and Toya might be that for middle schooler Tsukasa). But the ending of Tsukasa fighting alone in Ayano Koufuku Riron might probably be a metaphor of how difficult for him to open up about his insecurities and negative emotions because he wants everyone to keep smiling ala Emu-style, just with more success.
I also like how the Pierrot animation have Saki comforting Tsukasa instead of WxS, because that right there is his little sister who canonically noticed how lonely Tsukasa was before he met WxS. And speaking of forcing a smile, the fact that Saki also did that when she's hospitalized and then telling Tsukasa that she'll cry with him in the animation is just beautiful. Saki is healing, and she wants Tsukasa to heal too. It really tracks with their canon solo storyline, but I think Tsukasa only wants to cry tears of happiness in front of Saki. Other than that, he'll probably try to hide them as much as he can from her.
Also, my impossible wishlist is a Tsukasa & WxS!Miku cover of Kimi no Kamisama ni Naritai because the lyrics just fits.
"I just... want to sing a song that will save someone." "I want to sing a song that will protect someone." "I want to sing a song that will save you." "{But} it’s impossible,"
"I know you can become happy, of your own accord, through your own means."
Like, I think it fits Tsukasa with Saki and Toya! Just Tsukasa wanting to make them happy and well, but in the end Saki and Toya managed to do that just fine without him. And even though it hurts he still wants to be by their side and protect them. Not only for his relationship with Saki and Toya, it also fits with how Tsukasa looks at himself? Even though he's confident, he has worries of never being enough, and yet he keeps shooting higher so he can make others smile. If Kanade got a duet with Niigo!Miku AND a solo for Inochi ni Kirawareteiru why can't we get the same for Tsukasa's Kimi no Kamisama ni Naritai?? Please colopale, sega........

opinions on any prosekai ships? or is the hellhole that is the shipping fandom something you wanna stay away from? lmao
Any shipping discourse in any fandom is a hellhole lol
But yeah proseka shipping discourse is something that I'd rather stay away from Σ(゚Д゚;)
Tbh I don't really ship characters romantically and/or sexually? But I can enjoy any r-18 stuff as long as I like the drawing/writing. I'm definitely more about platonic/friendship/familial ships tho. Idk I think there's something more poignant about loving/dedicating/sacrificing yourself to someone without any romantic/sexual feelings in the mix. Sometimes that pure love can't be put into words and it's just *heart clenching*
I like ships in the sense of their dynamics/how they bounce with each other, and proseka is no exception. So more of platonic ships? I like everyone/Tsukasa (this order is non-negotiable, but I've been making compromises for NL ff lol) and I'm neutral for any other ships. I also don't have any NG ships (yes that includes ANY ships) cause they're all fictional characters for me, so idc about people's preferred shipping as long as they don't attack/shame others' preferred ships (which happens a lot in proseka fandom). I've been in jp fandom space since the time people ship royed and elricest so I guess nothing fazed me anymore lol (つω`*)

This is just something i glossed over with a couple of friends, but now its really got me thinking,, do you think sekais ever "end"?? not with how large they are or anything of that sort but would they ever just disappear? since i think we're to assume everyone becomes successful in their passion later on in life and turns it into their careers, would that be like a conclusion for the sekais? or would they grow even more so? perhaps if the creator(s) didnt grow to be successful, would it die out as their passion fades and eventually just. disappear? Idk. im just spitballing here lol
Oooh SEKAI lore! I'm so sorry for taking a long time to answer ( ;∀;)
Actually, the VS dreamfes side stories deal very much with this issue, specifically 2nd anniversary Luka and Miku! From canon main stories, we know that forgetting/not knowing their true feelings doesn't make the SEKAI disappear, and from Miku's 2nd anniversary card even the (most likely) death of the creator wouldn't make SEKAI disappear. After SEKAI is created, I think it would very much be there until the end of time. From information about the world link event later, we know that SEKAI would expand the more the creators' true feelings grow, so I think being successful/achieving their dreams would not make SEKAI disappear. But I don't know, by how much anniversary songs talk about growing up (Gunjo Sanka, Journey, NEO) maybe the creators would grow out of SEKAI when they learn how to stand up by themselves without the VS help (I kinda don't want this to be true though). Most importantly, if the creator throws away/rejects the feelings that create the SEKAI, there's a chance the SEKAI would detoriate like what is hinted in Luka's 2nd anniversary card. If they lost their true feelings, the SEKAI just becomes.... Abandoned.
Also, MEIKO's 3rd anniversary card kinda hints that someone can have a SEKAI without knowing they own one so my headcanon about Wonderland SEKAI being created when Tsukasa was young hasn't been proven incorrect yet.

im impressed by all the Tsukasa questions you get, hes such a strange little fellow And i also have a question about him lol
I feel like tsukasas the kind of person whose willing to confide in others about his problems (which i think hes openly said), namely the troupe, and if its minor enough, Saki and/or Toya as well. i always got the impression that he thinks he must always be the big brother/leader no matter what because thats really what he was his whole life, i mean he didnt have many to rely on as a child either, did he? Now maybe i just have bad memory, but i dont think hes ever confided in anyone about his childhood? i believe in dazzling stage he was able to sort of heal from the sorrow he felt as a child, but that was all. like. *just* him, no? i always thought the majority of the tsukasa angst written about in the fandom was greatly exaggerated, one of them being how he bottles up his problems, but what im asking is, is that really so far from how he actually is? i think the main thing he feels he just cant talk to others about is his past i feel is a very very important part of his character
i didnt mean for this to be so long my apologies 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️
No no no, thank you for the ask! I'm sorry it took me this long to answer(┬┬_┬┬)
I'm also of the opinion that Tsukasa does know how to share his problems (mainly show related), but his upbringing certainly influences how he grows up to be so independent. We know that Tenma parents love both children but I believe that concession had to have been made in the past. Like leaving Tsukasa alone lots of time, Tsukasa visiting Saki most of the time (like it took Ichika 2 hours by train just to go there iirc and she's accompanied by her mom, Tsukasa probably just goes back and forth as often as he could), etc. And because Tsukas also knows that not sharing his problem might make others worry about him even more, so he's fine with letting them know on a need-to-know basis.
And you're totally right! All WxS know is that Saki was sick and hospitalized a lot, so Tsukasa wants to make her smile through shows.... That's it. Other info WxS gets about Tsukasa's past is mainly from Saki, Toya, and Shizuku, not from Tsukasa himself.
While Tsukasa knows how to ask for help, he doesn't really confide his personal issues with other people. Like how he doesn't tell anyone that yeah he felt lonely and sad when Saki was hospitalized and how he just buried those feelings deep inside because they hurt, or how he feels so powerless because his dream just feels so far away. Heck, even in Our Happy Ending we just finally get Tsukasa admitting that parting with WxS makes him feels lonely and it's for Emu to admit her own feelings and cry in front of them. Tsukasa is being vulnerable because he wants Emu to be vulnerable in front of them as well. That's just how much Emu and WxS means to him.
And well, angstkasa definitely amped up the angst to eleven, but I personally think canon Tsukasa just doesn't think much about his problem? Canon Tsukasa problem is that sometimes he's rushing through things--partly due to his personality and partly due to how he just doesn't process his negative emotions that much. And canon tsukasa doesn't really share what he's doing/feeling as long as it doesn't hinder their shows and his family & friends (everyone is surprised when they found out that tsukasa met the otori brothers alone to ask for more opportunities outside wonder stage). I get the feeling that he thinks sharing positive feelings is fine but sharing negative feelings is something that happens just when it's necessary.
About bottling up problems, canon tsukasa tends to go like this:
"Oh, this feels painful/difficult"
Option 1: "I have to do something to remedy it myself!" & Option 2: "It's not important right now so let's just forget about it! (but it's still there)"
Option 1 usually results in him doing things himself without anyone knowing the underlying problem
Continuation of option 2: "Why is this still a problem? Damn, it hinders our show."
"Maybe it's okay to ask for some advice? Just enough so it can help our show without troubling the others that much"
"Okay, I'll try to solve it myself with your advice" => by Phoenix Edge WxS is helping and watching over Tsukasa in this step! This is progress!
SELF-REFLECTION or inner monologue about how it hurts very much but he got this! For everyone and for the show!
"THANK YOU EVERYONE" (doesn't elaborate any further)
Tsukasa doesn't do bottling up problems, he just doesn't think it's a problem while it is very much a problem. Rui realizes it in Pop in My Heart, and Emu and Nene is aware of it by Dazzling Stage. That's why they're so supportive of Tsukasa in Phoenix Edge, and how they become much kinder towards Tsukasa now (especially after the update). Unless Tsukasa being full of himself or an embarrassment, they didn't really tease/prank him that much compared to before.
I think the most noticeable evidence is how both EN and JP fandoms thought Rui would tease Tsukasa over their height difference, only for the official team to say "no, current Rui would not do that, he likes to see Tsukasa smiles". AND THAT'S A HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!! Now, WxS is learning how Tsukasa ticks--even Nene's tongue isn't as poisonous as it was before. Tsukasa learns how to be okay by himself growing up, and now WxS is learning how to let Tsukasa not-be-okay in his own pace. They've seen him being depressed and ruminating his problem by himself right before their very eyes after all, so I guess they're learning to be softer so he would loosen up around them and more willing to share his feelings if he's up for it. The problem is that Emu, Nene, and Rui is also still learning how to push, while for Tsukasa there's nothing to push (while it actually stacks in the corner to be processed later).
Besides, I think Tsukasa just thinks that his past isn't that necessary to be shared as long as he remembers his true feelings. But yeah, it's a huge part of Tsukasa's character, actually. He doesn't really share his personal feelings and past as long as it's not necessary. It's interesting how WxS story also deals about "you're not alone anymore, so don't hesitate to rely on us about anything" while the group leader is more of a "need-to-know basis" in terms of opening up lol.

hello! i know a little bit ago you posted an interaction between tsukasa and mafuyu + a silly one between shizuku, tsukasa, and ln, which were great, but what did you use to make those? i wanna make some short stories of my own but im struggling with making it look natural, i believed yours were real until i found out they werent 😭 just curious lol
Waaah I'm sorry that it took me this long to answer ( ;∀;)
I actually just use good ol' powerpoint lol, so the template isn't actually that accurate (maybe I should just post the template cause proseka jp has a new UI now?)
I'm glad that you found the dialogues to be natural! I think it's because I'm learning japanese casually? I usually listen to how they speak in JP and try to translate it to English and trying to keep the dialogue sound like it is in Japanese. For example, Tsukasa has this boastful speak but his speech tends to be more boyish than the other guys (Toya is more neutral in that regard), so I try to make his dialogue have some pompous words in it but still keeping it down-to-earth. Mafuyu tends to be quiet and speaks in short sentences, so just makes her go to the point, etc. Shizuku has these gentle, airy speech so her words should also be light, right?
I guess the difficulty of native English speakers (especially US) when writing characters is how the writer's personality, habits, and culture bleed through the characters? At least that's what I observe from AO3. Besides, the headcanons are really strong in fanfics so I guess there's that too.
Rather than thinking "I want him to say this", I usually think about "Would this character say this?" Of course it depends on what kinda story it is and whether the characters have some kinda personality shifts from the canon or not, but it's generally that. And yeah, it's troublesome when I write longer stories cause the characters Just Keep Going Anywherw They Want, but I'm usually satisfied with the result.
So... Yeah, tl:dr try not to let your own bias shows and let the characters speak for themselves.

Sweets*Stars AU
Tumblr media
A sort-of AU where the Tenma siblings and Shinonome siblings are members of an agency-created idol group, Sweets*Stars (shortened as SuiSuta).
(Kinda) heavily inspired by IDOLiSH7 so even more messy drama than MMJ (and they already have Drama)
Tumblr media
Tsukasa Tenma:
SuiSuta leader and co-center.
A nationally-famous solo male idol by the time SuiSuta was formed.
Debuted when he's a 2nd year middle-school (he got scouted).
Later becomes a member (and the shadow troupe leader) of Wonderlands x Showtime.
Known to be a versatile idol and has a great stage presence (his loud voice helps a lot).
Other info:
Accepts the idol scout at first because he wants Saki to have the best doctor in the best hospital so she could get better faster and money wouldn't be an issue
He doesn't really have times to lament his powerlessness so he still remembers his true feeling is wanting to make everyone smile (with shows)
Usually passes out in SEKAI due to overwork. His manager keeps asking him to take a break but he wouldn't rest until Saki could achieve her dream.
Saki Tenma:
SuiSuta co-center.
People knew Tsukasa has a sickly younger sister who wanted to be an idol before she debuted.
Due to having better doctors and facilities, she got better in her 3rd year of middle school. She debuted in 1st year of high school.
No Leo/Need, but Classroom Sekai existed and the four childhood friends managed to rekindle their friendship.
Her image is a cute little sister.
Other info:
Kinda hates Tsukasa for not visiting her as much as she hoped for but also kinda hates herself for even thinking about hating Tsukasa (Tsukasa usually visits late at night when Saki sleeps because his schedule is full during hospital visiting hours)
Wants to be as cheerful and energetic as the Airi that she sees on TV, and hopes that she can become as bright as an idol.
Also besties with Minori and the rest of MMJ. Because she's back to school in the third year she found out about Honami's and Shiho's problems and managed to reunite the four of them with Ichika (and Miku's and Luka's advice)
Tumblr media
Shinonome Ena
Joined the audition on a whim and dragged Akito with her, somehow passed the audition.
Kinda hates Tsukasa for various reasons (one reason is his personality), and wants to trade Akito with Saki.
Her beef with her dad now doubled because their father didn't like how both of his children work in entertainment industry.
Still a member of Niigo, and because of that become heavily sleep-deprieved.
Her image is a coy little devil
Shinonome Akito
Being dragged to the audition with Ena, somehow passed the audition
Doesn't mind Saki but hates Tsukasa for being annoying, loud, and meddlesome
Basically know very little about idol industry, so he's The Rookie of the bunch
Still active as VBS but appear in music events less
His image is a cool bad boy
Lore
The audition that Ena dragged Akito to is an idol audition for female-male siblings
Tumblr media
I love complicated sibling relationships (Nanase twins and Izumi bros) so I make the Shinonome sibs and Tenma sibs become even more complicated
I mean, Tsukasa split his time with idol work when Saki was hospitalized so of course there'll be consequences
Sometimes well-meaning but thoughtless actions can result in undesirable outcomes, and that's what happens in this AU a lot of times
I love my Tsukasa & Mafuyu as middle school acquaintances AU so that one stays
No matter what I can't separate the OG groups, but what happens after the Shinonome sibs have even more things on their plates? Even more trouble I guess
Will Ena and Akito stays as idols with all the drama in their work and personal relationships?
the Virtual Singers:
Miku and Kaito are already there in the beginning, but now Luka joins them as the first VS.
