the pinterest pin real artist was @/chloe3141 on twitter. though you can't check the proof due to locked acc and he/she deleted all of his/her VS art everywhere, but i can guarantee that @/chloe3141 was the artist. it's sad that the art reposted everywhere even posted as entry for vinland_fanart event on twitter.

All the Vinland Saga fanart posted by the blog vedantdistortion is stolen. They blocked me for replying with the name of one of the artists, because for some reason they’re asking reposters to credit THEM instead of the original artist 😳 This art is by Dyalexa on Twitter, for example. In this one, they’ve deliberately erased some Japanese text that was on the original image. This Pinterest pin says the original drawing was by kre326 on Twitter.

That, my friends, is an Amabie.

It's a mermaid (or merman) w/ 3 legs, that emerges from the sea and prophesies either an abundant harvest or an epidemic.

There was a story about an Amabie that showed itself in Edo-era Kumamoto, and it delivered a prophecy that after six years of abundant harvest, an epidemic will come.

It went on to say "if disease spreads, show a picture of me to those who fall ill and they will be cured."

That's why it's all over JP Twitter. A kimo-kawaii anti COVID19 ward. 🤣
