100 Hirumamo Prompt Challenge

I want to breathe new life into the fanfic sphere for Hirumamo because this ship has me in a choke hold & refuses to let go. I've come across some great stories but I got a problem - new fics are few and far between. Don't get me wrong, it's been a long while since anyone has seen Eyeshield 21 or has read / re-read the manga like I have. But I think that we can breathe new life into this ship's content sphere with this - a fanfic prompt challenge!

Each of these prompts that you so choose to create must be at least 1,000 words at the bare minimum.

Fanfiction on Tumblr vs. Fanfiction Elsewhere - The Struggle is REAL

OK maybe it's just me, but I can't stand reading fanfics on Tumblr because of the fact it can be a pain in the ass to find new content for your ships when some of the same stories just constantly show up multiple times when you scroll down nowadays. The only way I find a good curation now for my fanfics is through the search curation on Archive & Fanfiction.net.

And I know that there are literally TONS of fanfic writers who post full chapters here on this website but they don't post on other sites because of reasons. I get it. It's a preference. That's valid. I would just prefer to read your stories on a site better designed for fanfics. Especially when it comes to rare pairs and small fandoms. You have no idea how precious it is to fans around the world to find stories of their favorite OTP that nobody else writes for on a fanfiction site until you're in that position where you're actively providing new content for that new ship because you couldn't find any new content yourself.

So in conclusion - Sharing your fics around on other sites helps people discover your writing and it helps broaden your audience. It also provides a backup for your stories in case something happens to your Tumblr account.

Room Update

This year I decided to make my bedroom more relaxing and more spacious so after work I can just chill out. There's so much to buy and get set up but I know the end result will be fantastic. I will absolutely post pictures of the finished project once I get everything settled and moved around.

So far I've bought:

A New Captain Bed

A New Desk

A New Jewelry Armoire Mirror

A New Laptop Mouse

I still need to buy some picture frames, blackout curtains, Drawer organizers for my clothes in the captain bed, a small bookcase for regular books next to my desk, and some new bedsheets. However as time progresses I will start to get a better picture at what improvements I need to make next. I just really want to make a room that is 100% relaxing and more suited to my age honestly since I haven't done a major renovation to this room since after my high school graduation because...you know money. It still works for what it is but I really want to get that glow up for 2024.

Kalim’s Desperation & Brokenness

I don’t think people understand how traumatized & broken Kalim is.

“What’re you talking about? Isn’t he the most sunshine-filled characters in Twisted Wonderland?” I hear you ask.

Let me explain.

While Kalim isn’t a prince, he still comes from a long line of influential and powerful merchants that have family members connected to the royal family of the Scalding Sands. He’s the eldest child and the heir to the family business that he will take over once his father retires. Because of his claim, many assassination attempts have been made on his life. From jealous extended family members to rival merchants. He’s 17 years old and he’s developed the ability to identify poisons. That’s not normal. That’s not something a normal teenager has to worry about or needs to develop. He’s been poisoned enough times that he eventually began to question everything he’s been given to eat except for the food and drinks that were prepared by Jamil. Because he trusts him that much. Did anyone stop & think about the fact that Kalim grew up thinking the next meal could be his last? That he grew up not wanting to eat anything regardless of who made it until Jamil started to cook for him? That’s legitimate PTSD he has that just gets glossed over.

Also because he is the number one target of his family’s rivals and jealous family members, he never got to make legitimate friends aside from Jamil. Jamil was his first and only boy in his age group not connected by blood that he was able to socialize with and hang out with. Jamil got to go to a normal school while Kalim had to be tutored away from the other kids. Jamil got to enjoy festivals among the crowds without the worry of being kidnapped, while Kalim had to attend the family gatherings / business meetings first before he was allowed to go celebrate with the others. Even then he was under constant supervision. It wasn’t until he started attending NRC that he started to make friends in his own age group outside of his family home. That’s depressing as fuck. So of course he’s going to try to get people around him to enjoy themselves and be happy. There’s a desperation in his happiness that doesn’t get pointed out by others but he’s not a robot that only knows joy. He’s not dumb. He knows that the world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. He’s been the target of several assassination attempts and he flat out says that Jamil could’ve killed him at any point in his 17 years of life. He trusted him with his life on a daily basis, if anyone had the chance to kill him it’d be Jamil. But Jamil didn’t kill him, he wanted to be free of the caste system that bounded them as Master-Servant.

Kalim has been able to bluntly point out to people their concerns and their thoughts about people / topics. Although he’s oblivious to some social situations, that doesn’t mean he’s not adept at reading social cues. Especially since he was one of the first to realize that Vil was starting to act like Jamil before he overblot.

The students at NRC don’t see him as being selfish and uncaring, quite the opposite. A lot of the dormmates see Kalim as almost a brother-like figure and they’re all willing to let Jamil have a second chance at being Vice Warden after he reverted back to normal because Kalim asked them to give him a chance. In terms of the main cast, he’s fun to be around and he’s very sweet. But they’re not afraid to tell him “no” just because he’s from a prestigious family. That’s something I believe he’s been craving more than his freedom from his own house.

I believe that Kalim is partially inspired by Jasmine as well because Jasmine’s entire thing was getting freedom to do what she wanted and fall in love with who she wanted. Because if you really think about it...Kalim might be forced into an arranged marriage and that means that Kalim might not even have the chance to fall in love with who he wants.

He has a lot of development he still needs to do. But I believe his time at NRC is beneficial to that growth. Hopefully this post kind of helped flesh out this whole perspective of him.

Ace Being the Only First Year that has had a Girlfriend makes a LOT of sense

When you think about it, Ace being the only first year that has been in a relationship before enrolling into Night Raven College makes a lot of sense when you consider the following:

Deuce was a delinquent and was not the most straight A student in his hometown. He only recently started cleaning his act up when he enrolled so he could make his Mom proud and make a difference. Not a lot of girls were lined up to date the local troublemaker.

Sebek grew up in a town where there weren't that many kids his age outside of Silver. That's one of the reasons why he's comically dedicated to his position as Malleus' guard. Sure there are other girls in his town like his older sister, but we don't have enough information about the demographics for his age group outside of knowing Silver since they were children.

Ortho is a humanoid android. Baby boy doesn't understand romance nor does he desire a relationship.

Jack is a Wolf Beastman and has stated that similar to regular wolves, when he finds a mate that'll be his mate for life. He wants a relationship similar to his Mom & Dad so him casually dating someone isn't in his genetics. He's a courtship man through and through. If he goes into a relationship he's going in for marriage.

Epel is a country bumpkin and I say this with all the loving endearment in the world. We know that he grew up in a large household and he has extended family members living with him. He was beyond awkward when he was brought into the suitor rescue plan to fake-propose. But we do know that he desires to continue his family farm with a sweetheart of his own one day, so saying he's interested in having children isn't much of a stretch.

Ace is really the only one who has had a "normal" upbringing and a normal school life before entering Night Raven College. His good looks plus the fact he was probably on his previous school's basketball team makes it clear that he was a "jock" athlete. The only reason why he stopped dating his ex was because she wasn't interested in doing things WITH him. You can go to a lot of places together and do things together, but if you're not doing it WITH that person than you're really just dragging someone along for company instead of doing it for the sake of a relationship. It's actually really sweet how Ace is adamant on focusing on himself first & his friendships he's making now before he decides to look for another Girlfriend. It really goes to show that when he's in a relationship he's in it for the long haul as long as there's effort being put in on both sides.

Twisted Wonderland Ramblings

I'm 100% certain that we're getting Glorious Masquerade for October considering the length of this event. It'll easily take up half of October and the first half of November if they decide to put an event before Glorious Masquerade in order to coincide with the Halloween season better.

I'm absolutely not gonna be able to buy ANY gems for next month so I'm hoarding as much as humanly possible and prioritizing keys for October because I will get every single card for Masquerade. I will.

In terms of team building - I'm slowly getting more cards raised in order to balance out my options. I'm taking more history classes and alchemy classes in order to boost spell levels. I'm trying to get cards maxed out in order to have a fighting chance in book 7 when we start getting it in English because I know that so far it's looking to be longer than book 5 & 6 combined. My nightmare.

Which is also why I really need all the cards in the Masquerade event because all the spell types are going to be needed for the characters I choose to use on my teams.

Samaritan's Purse has helped countless families in times of natural disasters: floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, flash fires, and tornados. Just to name a few. They've also helped out internationally with many natural disasters such as the Earthquake that devastated Turkey and the flood in Ukraine.

With the devastating fires in Maui, these people need as much help as they can get. Help Samaritan's Purse help those in need in these trying times by donating to their U.S. Disaster Relief fund.

Most importantly pray for the families that've lost loved ones, pets, and items that're most dear to them in the fires. They need comfort in these trying times.

My Twisted Wonderland Updates

Finally got Book 6 completed on my iPad, Idia was a bitch to beat & I will never fight him again in his overblot form. Never. You couldn't pay me.

With Port Fest starting tomorrow, I'm praying that Jack will come home on both accounts. I will only go to about 40 pulls for my phone & like maybe 50 for my iPad because I desperately need more Fire-Water cards. If anything Book 6 showed me how unbalanced my cards were in terms of effectiveness.

Also!!! Just a heads up to people - THERE IS FURNITURE THAT'LL BE CRAFTABLE FOR THIS EVENT!!! So if you're into crafting like me for your guest room, remember to do the Crafter's Gauntlet in order to get the materials needed for it. This is the first event I think in EN that you need in order to craft something but I could be wrong. I might be misremembering something.

I'm super close to leveling my iPad's Guest Room to level 28, where there'll be more furniture available to craft, that it'll take me tomorrow and the next day in order to reach it. So my brain will be preoccupied by doing Port Fest stuff, crafting, and balancing teams. Since now I have time to kill before Book 7 comes out in EN.

They had a rough road trip on their way to the distributor. The pallets were damaged and the books arrived late, because that is just how the universe works, but the books themselves are fine! The distributor reports they've shipped most of them out already for Kickstarter backers. I've seen a number of people posting on social media that they received theirs this week, so keep an eye out!

For those of you who bought Essentials books in the Overflow sale in May/June, yours will begin shipping right after the remaining Kickstarter backer books are fulfilled.
