It looks like the way the Electrum Archive campaign I'm running is heading, I should be maybe prepared a little for PvP. Avoiding the meta aspects of how to handle PvP, how would I do that mechanically under Electrum Archive's combat rules? It feels awkward to use the combat rules as written, because if the players who are fighting both roll over or under, then choosing who goes first is messy. I thought that maybe a one of the players/sides involved could volunteer to replace the enemy and just not roll, but I don't think that holds up under closer inspection.
Do you have any thoughts on how to make PvP work or is it not worth the effort?
I think PvP should generally be avoided unless all players consent to it. So TEA isn't really designed to handle PvP.
One way you can handle it: each rolls a D10 and adds their weapon's Speed to it (or the default 5 if not using a weapon). Then players act in order according to their results, from highest to lowest. If there are any ties, check which character has the highest Agility to determine who goes first. If there still is a tie, let them roll a die to determine it randomly.
I hope this helps! Have fun :D

Hi. I'm running/setting up an Electrum Archive campaign. I really like the system, from the conciseness of the rules to the fantastic world-building. One of my players was essentially wondering what the climate of Orn is like (for character model generation purposes), and I thought it was an interesting question so I'm overinvested now. Is it overall temperate? How does being part Realm Beyond or being covered in Bone Spores affect the weather?
(sorry if this is too big of a question and is approaching something that would be in an upcoming zine)
Hey, thanks for the question!
The climate on Orn is overall pretty warm. The Mirall Delta is a more humid heat because the Rainwall Mountains prevent most rain clouds coming from the ocean from making their way to the Electrum Sea beyond. Which in turn results in the Electrum Sea being an arid desert with minimal rainfall.
Regarding the effect of the Realm Beyond on the weather in the Spirit Roads: it makes it the weather change a lot faster, but doesn’t affect the temperature that much. The soul winds mentioned in the first zine are like short periods of strong winds where souls from the Realm Beyond can be seen as sparks flying in the wind.
The Spirit Roads as a region in general is a bit cooler and more temperate than the rest of Orn since it has the benefit of the winds blowing from the ice wastes beyond the Spine of Dreams which cool it down.
The Spore Wilds are more savanna-like, so it’s warm but more humid than the Electrum Sea :)
The mountainous Ruinlands also are a bit cooler, like the Spirit Roads, however since the region has a bunch of volcanic activity there are a lot of hot springs and bubbling lava pools that keep it from getting too frigid.
I hope this answers your question, but let me know if you want to know more :) Have fun with your campaign!
