Alexa Chung.
Alexa Chung works in a ways with lines, facial features and body. Her way of working is amazing and so quick!
I came across her as I was searching for Julian Opie and I thought WOW I want to give this go myself, so I decided to mimic her face piece and recreate it to my own with my OWN FACE and it looks so good!
Why? - I decided to create my own version but not change too much because this artist isn’t someone I want to work with, it’s just something I found was really cool and decided to create my own version of it.

This piece turned out AMAZING!!!
Wow😍
This is a mix between Andy Warhol’s polaroid theme and Julian Opie’s self portrait work! This turned out so good!! I decided to mix these two artists as they both work with the ‘pop art’ theme and I can’t get enough of how well these two artists mix so good! Thinking about the way these two styles would both merge into each other really excited me, so I tried it and couldn’t be more amazed!!
I can’t wait to take this into a physical form and draw it!!
Why? - Because one artist isn’t enough, so I decided to tie TWO together because they both work exactly the same!

Looking more and more into Julian Opie I have discovered many other ways he creates his digital drawings which is in this sort of style. I absolutely love how this turned out! Working digitally in this kind of way shows a different kind of creation because it’s not EXACTLY like the artist, it my very own interpretation!
Why? - I have created this because when I spotted his work and realised how so much alike it was to Warhol’s, it gave me so much ambition to create something of my own like theirs, working like this is a different kind of digital drawing.

Working with Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso wasn’t enough! I’ve decided to do some more research on artists who work in this kind of ‘pop art, self portrait’ style and I have came across Julian Opie.
Julian Opie is know for working in pop art and sculptural work which fits in PERFECT for my research, his work has been plastered in MANY exhibitions and has pulled me in to work in his style.
Pablo Picasso, Julian Opie and Andy Warhol have given me a view of their work and I’ve decided to create my own.
Why? - Because this way of working is very eye catching to me and to me it looks like there is so much time being placed into their works.

IM SUPER HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME OF THIS PIECE!!
This is a final piece of my very first digital drawing of myself in Andy Warhol’s pop art theme, and by first piece I mean my first pieces where I used objects in my work. Using the 3D effect makes the painting stand out just that little bit more and makes it so much more abstract, its amazing what you can turn a drawing into!
Why? - I did this because I have already completed one of these of me with a 3D clay model of a cigarette on the canvas, so doing these 2 pieces merge well with the first piece I completed.

This is my first attempt at a piece where you DONT blend the colours together, I didnt know what to specifically paint so I just painted freehand a figure. I’m not too sure about working in this way as its not my ideal ‘cup of tea’, but its all about trial and error and about keep practicing different ways of working, s in the future I may do this again but think about what exactly it is I will paint.

This is my chill pill recreation of Andy Warhols and as I stated previously why its called ‘Chill pill’ to me, I decided to create the background with the words ‘DON’T PANIC’ because in fact the pill releases the pressure of panicking and helps to give me a calming feeling, allowing me to relax and ‘chill.’

Following on from my previous posts I wanted to create something a little more different and meaningful. This image ties in with the ‘Chill pill’ and relates to my feelings and emotions e.g how my anxiety kicks off and how my emotions flow through my tears.
This also ties in with one of my tasks from this blog, ‘What makes you you?’ And as I’ve stated previously the ‘Chill pill’ makes me me so this was an easy tie.

I seen an image like this and was automatically drawn to recreate the image as a self portrait version of myself. Ive tied in Warhol’s pop art theme but instead of using the dot technique I decided to change it and use more vibrant colours for my background.
Why? - I created this because I wanted to switch up my drawings a little and make it more humorous.

For this I created my own version of Andy Warhol’s ‘Mick Jagger Series At Guy Hepner’ This was quite fun to do as again its just all about experimenting with different shading and techniques. It kind of reminds me of the song ‘Somebody That You Used To Know’ and how they paint the man and woman like I’ve done on myself.
The second image is the shading I created for the first image, I loved the way it turned out and how it looked on its own, so I decided to keep it as a second image and maybe create something out of it.
Why? - Because experimenting with different ways of drawing digitally can make you better and make you learn how to adapt different skills when drawing differently and every image helps with that.

For this image I’ve tied Warhol and Picasso together again because I love the outcome these 2 themes have on each other.
For my next task I am going to use household junk items and create a self portrait of myself in Picasso’s style but using Warhol’s pop art theme. I can’t wait to see the outcome of that final piece.

Ive decided to create this look as its different from all the rest. In one of my tasks from material enquiry I was asked to look at Richard Serra and his Verb List, so I decided to tie that in with this piece of work and I chose the word ‘To twist.’ This was super fun to do as I like merging other work with present work I’m doing.
Why? - I did this because its different from all the rest of my work and it fits in with other modules and experimenting is what I love to do.

I decided to choose this image in Picassos’s style and repeat it like Warhol’s ‘Campbells tomato soup’ creation. I love how this turned out and I am definitely going to be repeating this process with more work as it looks so eye catching, and pulls the audience in to have a look at the work as its so colourful.
Why? - Because I want to try and tie the 2 artists together and creat a final piece with the style they work in. So experimenting will make my final project easier.

PABLO PICASSO
In my mindmap, I stated that I would start to look at Pablo Picasso and how he works meaning what style and media he uses, so I have started to do some research on Picasso and created some self portraits of myself in the exact same way he works. In his work, he changes the style of the original image and reforms the face and features, so I’m my work I tried it and it turned out amazing! I’m super super happy with the outcome of these images and will proceed to do many more of these!
Why? - I created these images because I wanted to have 2 artist to be able to have pieces of work from so it doesn’t get boring and feel like I’m repeating myself on work. These styles were exciting to try and I’m going to try and merge the 2 artists work together to make something out of it.

I am going to challenge myself next and create a WHOLE image using the dot technique and see how it’s looks!

I decided to take ‘chill pill’ to another level and draw myself as a portrait taking the medication. This ties in with one of my tasks i was asked to do ‘Self portrait.’
As you can see the pill is on my tongue rather than in my hand ready to take, this image can be seen in 2 different ways... Drug related or Medication related. I take the ‘Chill pill’ as I like to call it as it helps me with the way I am and make me feel safe.
What do you see the image as?
Why? - As I’ve stated the ‘Chill pill’ is medication related and I wanted to take it a step further and make it into a self portrait.
