I feel like Halo 5 was lowkey John's "the dog bitting their abuser" by going after cortana

I need to go replay the game, but there was a scene where Kelly didn't try touching John after his vision with Cortana almost in a way that she knew that John could flinch but later Fred pats the Chief's shoulder in a comforting manner 🤔

Y'know, now that @biomecharnotaurus brings it up. It has me thinking that Spartan IIs most likely didn't walk away from the program without signs of abuse.

No matter how many battles or how often they try to stop themselves, they'll flinch, and it's always outside of the adrenaline when they suppose to be in a 'safe space'

You can't go wake up a II without them bolting up right before their shoulder is touched. And they actively move away.

Or why some IIs don't like being touched or like wearing heavier armor than others. It also can play into why they don't like taking off their armor because they can't be hurt that way.

It kinda explains why some of them are like attack dogs...

I have many thoughts right now, and I have research to do.

Y'know, now that @biomecharnotaurus brings it up. It has me thinking that Spartan IIs most likely didn't walk away from the program without signs of abuse.

Can I make this alittle worse??

Just imagine anyone raising their arm half an inch next to him, and he does a little flinch every time. Very non perceptible to those who don't know him well enough. But no matter what he tries, his body's reaction is to always flinch the tiniest bit.
