i am crying so much at this marius needs to be a record store hipster and ppl might think it’s because he’s pretentious or smth but it’s actually because he was not allowed to listen to the music he liked out loud at gillenormand’s house and one day he’s playing a record in the apartment (im picturing it being no one is alone from into the woods) and getting emotional at the lyrics and courf comes home and marius scurries to turn it off being like “im so sorry i didn’t mean to be playing it i didn’t know you were coming home” and courf is just like “dude??? its fine??? i love this album turn it up” and marius instantly bursts into tears and falls into courfs arms crying because he truly is not alone

no I wanna hear your thoughts abt Marius

marius likes polaroid photos and coffee with lots of sugar but no cream and cheeseburgers with no tomatoes and he steals courf's scarves in the winter and cosette's sunglasses in the summer and he says it's because he really doesn't wear those things enough to justify buying his own but truly it's because he loves feeling near to the people he treasures most, even if they're not there. i think he's shy and awkward and goofy and doesn't realize that that makes him charming. he wants to know the world and his place in it, that he actually has a place in it. he is trying to find out his own way in the world and how to be a man by his own standards. he feels independent and sometimes that makes him lonely. he's curious about language and etymology and music, he loves sunny days and dreams of having a lovely little garden where he grows roses and carnations and wildflowers of all types and there will be a little bench for him and cosette to sit and and drink their tea and watch the birds gather at the birdfeeder. he is fiercely protective of those he loves, is terrible at small talk, wears almost exclusively button-up shirts and oxford shoes and knitted bowties. he cries at almost everything. he feels deeply indebted to the amis, courfeyrac in particular, and tries to make himself as available to them as he can be whenever they need something. he loves the beatles and stephen sondheim and always smells like soap and coffee (because he usually finds a way to spill a little on himself). his biggest insecurity is his inability to grow substantial facial hair. he plays the piano. bahorel and courf turned him into a regular weed smoker. he wants to learn how to knit. he’s gentle and tender. he has seasonal allergies and celiac disease. his favorite colour is green and he rides a bike around town and always drinks tea before bed. more than anything he just cares about the people in his life more than anything and wants to feel secure
