Review: The Never Tilting World

★★★✩✩

The Never Tilting world, was an interesting read and I had some mixed feelings. I love the concept and the living goddesses, and seeing how the world would be in both never ending sunlight and never ending darkness. The magic system was not completely unique it was mostly elemental magic as well as healing and disease magic. The way the magic worked and how people could only use the type of magic they were born with was interesting as well as the fact that some of the magic was useless or suppressed in different landscapes. I ended up loving the world but it was shown mostly through the story which I struggle with sometimes. The story also changed perspectives which I love, but I got confused a few times and thought the perspective changed when it hadn't. This happened only a few times though and it didn't take away from the overall story and I would still recommend it.

Review: Shadow and Bone

★★★✩✩

I finally caved and bought Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo and I liked it a lot more than I expected. I was afraid going into it that it wouldn't live up to the hype but it definitely did. It has such a unique system of magic and the people who have magic, while they have better lives than most, they are not the ones in power. Alina's journey in finding and accepting her power and her love was captivating. Leigh Bardugo did an amazing job in making the characters relatable and made a unique political and magic system I haven't seen before. I am giving it three stars though because I didn't really enjoy the love interest and I am hoping I like them more in Siege and Storm.

Review: Ever Cursed by Corey Ann Haydu

★★★★✩

Ever Cursed by Corey Ann Haydu is a amazing book. I did find it a bit predictable but it is definitely worth reading. The story follows Jane and Reagan. Jane is one of five princesses who were cursed with a Spell of Without by Reagan. The Spell of Without made it so Jane was not able to eat, and each of her sisters had a similar curse Nora can't love, Alice can't sleep, Grace can't remember, Eden can't hope and the Queen who is frozen in a glass coffin . The story follows Jane and Reagan as they try to break the spell together and Jane learned what happened that caused Reagan to cast the spell. Despite it being predictable I believe its an important book to read especially for girls who are trying to learn to find their voice. It was incredibly empowering.
