William Russell, who played First Doctor companion lan Chesterton during the 1960s of Doctor Who, has passed away at Age 99. (1924 - 2024)
He played lan Chesterton, one of three of the very first Doctor Who companions, he appeared in the first ever episode 'An Unearthly Child' opposite William Hartnell in 1963, and through till 1965. He returned to the show after 57 years for his final appearance in 'The Power of the Doctor' (2022).
