"If you had a disorder as serious as DID, we would notice."
You did notice, you just called it by a different name.
When you noticed us acting different, you called it
childish
standoffish
unpredictable
too sensitive
insensitive
dramatic
manipulative
intentionally being difficult
When you noticed our amnesia, you called it
irresponsible
flakey
forgetful
not listening
not trying
unreliable
lying
When you noticed us dissociating, you called it
spaciness
daydreaming
not paying attention
not caring
stonewalling
acting stupid on purpose
wasting time
being lazy
People love to say they care about people with mental illness, and then disbelieve anyone who has one because they've already passed judgement on them.

Fictive heavy systems, I have a question for those who are comfortable sharing their experiences.
Is the reason you believe you're fictive heavy because your trauma created a disconnect between you and real people, leading to an early comfort in media?
This is a loose theory based on our experience as a system and it's something we've been curious about for a while.
(This post is for traumagenic systems only, endos fuck off)

As a fictive I want to say:
• don't say "I want to be your friend" just because you simp for them/they're source.
• some fictives have source memory.
• some don't.
• some fictives identify with their source.
• some don't/identify partially.
• and again, don't act like a simp just for the source because it's weird.

Experiences I have related to DID that I forget are literally because I have DID
- Feeling like my identity / sense of self is fluid & ever changing
- Being absolute ass at a specific thing and then being good at it later
- Thoughts / inside voices being fuzzy , distant , like a distant conversation
- Having fluctuating feelings toward friends/families/my partner
- Getting suddenly dizzy and finding it hard to move
- Realizing I’m not wearing what I originally put on
- Feeling zero emotions or feeling every possible emotion amplified 100x
- A lot more that I can’t remember right now, also because of DID
Me after realizing everything I do and feel is related to having this dissociative disorder 😦😦😦😦😦

Feeling quite sad tonight so I will say this.
I love you non human alters
I love you monster alters
I love you scary alters
You're not faking or lying because you're something people consider "unreal" or "based in fiction" I love you and you're very real and very valid.

shout-out to people who fit the demonised DID stereotypes seen in movies & other media:
if you have violent &/or aggressive alters, i love you.
if you have complete blackout amnesia between alters, i love you.
if you have little to no communication between alters, i love you.
if your switches are overt & "distressing to witness", i love you.
if you've ever been called "scary", a "freak", or even "evil" for how your DID presents, i love you so much.
your experiences are real. you do not have to sugar-coat your disorder to make it more palatable for others. your brain helped you survive as best it could, so i hope you will find peace & healing when the worst is over. 🤍

Shout out to the twenty two year old who can’t get a job. Shout out to the twenty six year old with a caretaker. Shout out to the thirty year old who can’t buy their own house.
Shout out to young disabled people. We exist.

Plural Culture is oh my gods the hosts friends can never know I'm not them, and that they haven't fronted in weeks now
Being worried about the sorrow and possible anger they could feel towards you because their friend isn't there any more

Hello Tien! Nice to meet you. :) I was wondering if you knew Tien means "ten" in Dutch, or it's just a coincidence? Either way, cool name!
Woah! I think it's just a coincidence but my friend who helped give me the name is a huge language nerd so it could be part of it! :3
