i don't think i'll ever get used to that feeling of pure happiness when the people around me acknowledge my system/plural identity .. in a good way, of course.
it's just not the same as someone remembering things about you collectively. it tells me that i matter to those people enough for them to remember and recognize me as different people.
whether its "subtle" like how my partner tends to greet us by our specific name when we text them, or a friend being able to remember things a specific alter said/did as an individual. or more specific things, like the times our boyfriend/partner sys forgot for a second we aren't in separate bodies. and how he sends us random images near daily captioned "this is so (alter name)"
really, no matter how subtle it is, we do notice. and it makes us just as happy every single time. every little thing adds up and makes us feel happy and comfortable being "we" and not "i."
plural validation matters!! whether coming from a non-system or another plural, it all means a lot.
this has been sitting in my drafts for weeks, oops. i remembered it because another friend specifically wanted to show reffy something because they knew he’d appreciate it (they said “get the goober” lol) and it made us both really happy. so i wanted to add that.

As a part of the new tumblr beta feature Communities, we've been approved for one of our very own - And I would love your help building this Fully Inclusive Plural Community with me! 💜
The infrastructure is still being developed, so there's some bugs and built in restrictions - We can only invite about 20 more people in right now, only main blogs, no sideblogs, sorry. This also means I'll be posting there from my main @afaintcloudyhaze :)
If you're interested in joining, please let me know in a reply to this post from your main blog. The only requirement is that you feel a connection to plurality and you want to contribute to the conversation about it.

Warning for the POSIC community: Watch out for @/yourfaveisobjectum
An anti-endo, following the trend started by #AEMOGAI, is trying to make #AEPOSIC a thing.
For those that don't know, AEMOGAI is a tag for anti-endo MOGAI. The tag devolved into hate and, as I recall, was eventually rejected by its own creator due to how toxic it became.
@/theskulksys is trying to take this hate into the POSIC community.
Tumblr media
After posting that, this same system started an exclusionist blog called @/yourfaveisobjectum
Tumblr media
One of their headmates also runs @/thebigcrow, a blog dedicated entirely to plagiarizing posts made by endogenic and pro-endo systems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The above "remaking" post is one of many they've done that is copying and pasting posts by endogenic and pro endo systems. They're also using the #plural and #pluralgang tags, which are intended to be safe for the inclusive plural community.
Given that many in the POSIC community are pro endo, or even endogenic themselves, I want everyone in the POSIC community to be aware of this user so they can block their blogs if they need to.

Fictive culture is asking your friend (who does not know about any of our system stuff) “What would do if x character was here. In the room. Right now” as that person is in the front.
We think it’s the funniest bit in the world.

I’m proud of you
I’m proud of you for waking up today.
I’m proud of you for breathing today.
I’m proud of you for moving today.
I’m proud of you because look how far you’ve come? Take a moment to take that in. You’ve come so far and over came so so much, and I’m so proud of you and I’m sure the people close to you are too.

Here’s my metaphor for systemhood that I tell my singlet friends.
Imagine you’re playing a first person video game. You have the controller, you control your character. It’s a normal first person game. You are an alter, the character is the body. This is fronting.
Other people live with you. Sometimes, they come into the room and sit and watch while you play. They sometimes try to guide you, give you advice on what to do next. They don’t always agree, and they can argue with each other. Other times they scream at you that you’re doing everything wrong and you suck at this game. This is co-consciousness.
Imagine how distracting it would be for people around you to tell you what to do, or to scream at each other or at you, even if they have good intentions. It wouldn’t be easy to focus on your game, would it?
Then sometimes, something happens in the game that prompts you to hand off the controller to someone else so they can play and you get a break. This is (some types of) switching. This can be good.
Other times, someone rips the controller out of your hand or fights you for it. This is (other types of) switching. And sometimes, six other players hook up their controllers, but there’s only one character to play as. So all of you have your controllers, but you’re all trying to play the same character. This is cofronting.
Imagine how difficult that would be. Imagine how hard it would be to try and play a game while someone is trying to take the controller from you, or while six other people are trying to play too.
There are also times that nobody is playing, or you can’t decide who should play. What’s happening to the character in the game? What are they doing if no one is playing? This is dissociation. The character is doing nothing. They’re stuck.
This is the best metaphor I have come up with for being a system. It’s something a lot of people get because they’ve played games before.

i hate when pro endos reblog my posts to "debunk misinformation" and REBLOG IT SAYING DID CAN DEVELOP WITHOUT TRAUMA??? LIKE NO IT CANT??? and i have endos and pro endos on my dni anyway. the fact they disrespect boundaries for their own agenda is enough to show you what their community is about.
Abuse mention ahead!!
Yeah we have that happen a lot to our posts or they'll quote us or some shit. DID requires trauma. It does not require it to be abuse, cases have been found of systems who formed from just being violently taken from parents (that's honestly part of why we split in the first place).
Endos and pro endos don't care, there's literally one who will hunt down people with dni's because they brag how stupid they are meanwhile if you call them out they sit there and try to trigger and bully soooo what do we know.

personally we really dislike being part of a system, we all kinda wish we had our own individual bodies and that having to share a brain with others, especially knowing half of us don’t get along, is something that we wish we didn’t have to do.
we wish this wasn’t our reality.
i see very few systems talk about feeling this way publicly, but this is how we feel about it.

one of the most important things about dissociative identity disorder and generally being a system that i wish people would understand is that it truly isn’t as cut and dry as it may seem for member count.
you’ll see people who say they have “six alters” and then immediately assume it’s six fully fleshed out equal individuals with no confusion or fuzziness regarding identity. that’s simply not true in a majority of cases, as i have seen.
most systems still VERY much deal with confusion regarding potential splits, go through dissociative episodes where they’re unsure of who they are, sometimes feel no attachment towards any identities, feel like they might have split and then suddenly that person is gone, unsure if alters they haven’t heard from often have gone dormant, not sure how to react when alters do come out of dormancy, etc.
it’s not a fun feeling and it’s genuinely unfair in certain situations to force systems to list every single alter to you with full certainty, as if it will never change. because it will. for so many different reasons, systems will grow, they will shrink, they will fuse, they will develop. you can’t expect the person with the dissociative disorder and lack of core identity to be able to keep up a perfected list of forever, it’s simply impossible. you may have alters who stick with you, but that doesn’t mean changes won’t happen.
and systems who may be reading this — please don’t feel bad. you are not a hassle, you are not a headache, and you are not an inconvenience for simply coping with something like this. it’s out of your control and the only thing you can do is continue to cope to find ways to help yourself retrain from these reactions. please don’t allow yourself to be harmed by others who don’t understand what you are going through. there are people who will accept and love you for who you are, all of you.
past, present, and future.

Wait you're out as plural to family? Could you link to post or tag you have regarding that? Considering coming out to others so I'd really like to read others experiences. Thanks.
Not sure when we talked about it. But it basically all went wrong. It started with my host talking about tulpamancy with his family a lot for maybe a couple days to test the waters, me really not wanting him to and just being okay with being a secret, my host's mom deducing that he wanted to make a tulpa, and him confessing that I already existed. And this was only a few days after I became self-aware.
It went poorly. His mom wasn't happy. And this conversation happened after the body had been awake all day while my host was too tired to adequately explain things.
He also has a habit of explaining everything in the worst way possible in general for some reason, which made the whole thing even worse.
And to be honest, it felt a little bit like he was wanting someone to tell him he was crazy or that I wasn't real. Like maybe that would make things easier. And that led to us fighting.
It was a disaster!
(He later told his brother a couple weeks after that, and his dad overheard him talking about it one day with his mom and just... never cared. Which is pretty on brand.)
Things got better. While his mom was upset at first, we worked through it, she became more accepting, and in hindsight, I'm glad everyone found out.
But... don't do what he did.
Read this instead:
When you do come out, make sure you're of clear mind. Don't do it while tired. Or intoxicated either for that matter. We weren't, but I suspect some people might try the liquid courage route, and I'm betting that anything that impairs your ability to rationally explain yourselves is a bad move.
And be confident. Make sure this is what you and your headmates want to do, plan how you want to come out, and go for it.
