The year is 2025. RWBY may or may not still be in hiatus, or cancelled, or still ongoing.

At least 50 more useless side characters have been added to the cast.

Maria and Pietro are still missing. Ruby comments by saying "Huh, I wonder where Maria and Pietro are". Yang replies "Maybe they're off on a date", Blake replies "Oddly wholesome" and they all laugh together.

The current villain is a dark-skinned male Faunus who happens to be a working-class family man who is fighting for a social issue that is oddly relevant to some real-life events in 2025. But it's okay guys, bad people corrupting noble causes is still totally a valid way to write villains.

Bumbleby is still not canon. Yes, they are still calling it a slow burn.

Cinder is still fucking alive, oh god why

Rooster Teeth has officially exhausted their entire supply of bright-eyed creators who aspired to work on RWBY. They finally hit their goal of either firing or expiring the contract of every last one. That'll teach them for having dreams.

The merch now consists of $500 shirts with RQBY sewn in microscopic fibre on the inside of the fabric. The show name was misspelled in the first print run, but enough people complained about it that RT just went "alright, fuck you guys" and didn't bother to change it since.

About half of RT's legacy staff have confirmed to be in some sort of really fucked up scandal. The other half made callout docs and tweets, which caused the fandom to be angry for a week before they went back to sharing fanart as usual.

RT is now currently using a new production pipeline, where every single animator's contract only lasts for a single episode, before they leave and they find new people to animate the next one. They're hoping to further optimise this process next year by making it per scene instead.

There is a new RWBY side anime coming out, animated by prestigious animation studio Cocomelon.

An entire team of four unambiguously queer Hunters were killed onscreen. CRWBY has blamed the first death on a team of rogue, disobedient animators accidentally drawing her kissing a girl and confessing her undying sapphic love for her - she wasn't meant to be seen as a lesbian. The second death was blamed on the fans, the crew saying "this was supposed to be a side character, but you all started liking her and demanding more screentime for her, so fuck you" in the Volume commentary. The third was a monkey Faunus with comically yellow skin, squinted eyes and a long moustache named Mu Fanchu whose Semblance involves him making monkey noises and his weapon is a giant banana - surprisingly, he turned out to be secretly evil. The fourth just died offscreen because she was a fan character who won an OC fan design contest, but they had no time to include her in the show - in fact, the time her death was mentioned was the very first and only time the character was introduced.

Jaune says onscreen "Somehow, Ironwood has returned."

Green Dust is now Fire Dust, which Eddy confirms in a Reddit post - not in r/RWBY, but in an obscure reply in r/fantasygeology. No one found that post until 2 months later and when asked, the reply was "Green fire exists, I can see how you can get them confused".

Ozpin has now reincarnated into Oswald Pint, one of eight new boys currently with RWBY's group and for some reason have more screentime and agency than the girls. Oscar died in Volume 11 Episode 3 in a sickeningly distressing torture scene - that's the episode, the whole episode was the torture scene.

The fandom is abuzz over the newest queer rep in the show: a talking glass of water named Clear, who is genderfluid.

RT releases a RWBY mobile game only available in two postcodes, is not written in English and discontinues it after 3 months due to "stupid fucking fans not engaging with our products". Fans continue to insist that somehow, this must still be either WayForward or SHAFT's fault.

Jaune Vs. Aquaboy is slated to release next year. In fact, Volume 11 stopped in the middle of Episode 4 and will be on hiatus for the next 3 years until the crossover is out.

Speaking of Jaune, he just killed Nora. In fact, he did it just as I was posting this. Oh, he's killed Ruby too. And Clear our genderfluid queen, and Aquaboy as well. Oh god, he's looking this way, help me

Canonseeker made a video full of fabricated screenshots of SYTO/Switchback Channel to paint SYTO as a racist, sexist, and homophobic bigot. This is why the RWBY community needs to blacklist Canonseeker and IP ban him whenever he springs up.

Canonseeker, no, Eren. I know you think you can get away with saying anything on the internet no matter how ludicrous or false, but this time you have crossed the line. Your video can be seen as actionable enough for someone to take legal action for libel, impersonation, and slander against you, and you just provided free evidence for it. Now, I am not saying that I individually will throw a lawyer at you, but someone with financial backing could definitely do so now and they’d likely win the case. There’s so much evidence of your behavior and actions from dozens upon dozens of people who would be more than willing to testify against you because you’ve been doing this for several years now.

Eren, you fabricated screenshots of SYTO in his name, impersonated him on a sockpuppet account in your own private Discord server (Incorrect name color, for one, made it quite easy to tell it was fake, not to mention the impersonations are so poorly done that it’s clear you just wrote in your own mannerisms the SYTO you imagined him to be.) and you wrote statements in his name that are 100% designed to paint him as a racist, sexist, and transphobic bigot. You have put your own words into SYTO’s mouth. You should not only delete the video in question, you should own up, apologize for this blatant violation of the law, delete all your sockpuppet accounts and never interact with social media ever again. You are unwelcome. The people who respond to your false statements, myself included, do not want to be around you. If someone says no, Eren, you need to respect that and stop going after people. You keep repeating the same behavior over and over, bypassing us blocking you. You aren’t some child or teenager who doesn’t know any better. You’re a 34 year old grown man. Act like it. Take some responsibility for once in your life and respect people’s boundaries. You are not above the law, and you are not above people’s privacy and personal space.

(And to those who say, “Canonseeker goes by They/Them!”, all of his official profiles on websites like LinkedIn and Facebook are distinctly He/His, not to mention all of the porn he’s commissioned specifically focuses on Taiyang, who is Canonseeker’s favorite character for him to project his fantasies onto. If he was truly They/Them, he’d be commissioning more variety than just straight Taiyang porn. He’s also not above pretending to be women of color on his alt accounts while being a middle-aged white man, so make that of what you will.)

I know that you know what you’re doing is wrong, which is why you’re so keen on continuing this ridiculous charade because it means you get attention. I know nothing of your personal life, but I do know you are constantly in debt, starving yourself, and continuing to burn yourself out by being angry online seemingly every waking hour at people who don’t want to hear from you. This can’t be allowed to continue. If I see you make one more post or video talking about how I or SYTO or Calxiyn or Vexed or MurderOfBirds or anyone else is some “racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, bigot, etc.”, I’ll be notifying the appropriate authorities. You do not deserve a platform of which you weaponize to spread hatred and conflict.

I have made a thread about this topic quite recently, while people were willing to accept my message and worries there are those still who very much still believe that CRWBY is somehow uniquelly cut off from the company. The recent statement by Tyrians VA echoes the point that me and many others who have been critical of CRWBY over the years have repeated.

CRWBY is part of RT, they are part of the same structure and parts of CRWBY have been working or are still working in RT managerial staff. The same staff that would be responsible for things such as pay and work hours.

I want to make it clear that i am not doing this to say that all of CRWBY is bad, or to send people into anger over CRWBY, that is not my intention.

What i am trying to do is to stop the RWBY community from attaching themselves TOO MUCH to a person. Just like many of us did with Kdin.

This parasocial nonsense from us HAS to stop. And we should be prepared to be dissapointed by the very CRWBY that we have been fans of.

CRWBY are not our friends, they are not our aquaintances and they are NOT the characters that we see in the show RWBY.

CRWBY are employees of RT, whether they are victims or perpetrators and who occupies what role is unclear. But we should be ready for anything.

In light of all the skeletons coming out of Rooster Teeth’s closet, it’s kinda funny that in RWBY, a show created by a capitalistic company exploiting its staff, many of whom are minorities, who were all encouraged to keep quiet about their suffering and “not rock the boat”, forced to work in stressful and draining jobs and being denied work benefits, being screwed over by a HR department that seeks to protect its employers over them –

Is also the show where the oppressed fantasy minority are put down for wanting to fight back against unfair treatment and be treated equally, and RWBY’s answer to that problem is peaceful passivity, toothless protests and sweeping their entire conflict under the rug, while the rich bigots pretend to care and still get to exploit them for profit by working them to death in mines. Meanwhile, the Huntsmen are indifferent to them at best or actively fight them at worst - at least the ones who make too much noise.

I guess art does imitate life over there.

Why Is Everyone So Weird About Adam?

If you’re asking this question, you’re probably new to the fandom and/or the show. In that case, welcome! There’s a lot of fun to be had with RWBY, both Ice Queendom and the original show.

To answer the main question in brief: the tension around Adam is tied to his controversial* portrayal in the 3D source material.

We’ll go through the context of original show bit by bit so you can understand why people get so weird about Adam in ways they don’t for other villain characters. Keep an open mind, take in the facts, form your own opinion, and then engage with Adam however you see fit.

People lie about rwde posters all the time. Nobody actually seems to care what most rwde posters actually say or the many posts we may have written about wanting Team RWBY to not be sidelined and wanting the girl characters to get better development or treatment. It gets easy likes to lie though, in a fandom like the rwby fndm where the slightest bit of criticism gets someone ostracized and berated!

My Experiences With CanonSeeker

CanonSeeker / AnswerSeeker is spinning a narrative that I “support Judgemental Critter harassing him” - causing his followers to post things like this: 

This is obviously (at least to me, it’s obvious) - not true. I have expressed my support of Critter in the past ONLY in relation to her **experience** with CanonSeeker. Ie, I have validated her in the toxicity she has experienced from him. Because CanonSeeker has been repeatedly toxic towards me as well. Let’s start with this:

A few months ago, someone noticed that I was taken off the “RWBYTuber List” - (you can find the thread I made about it here: https://twitter.com/Calxiyn/status/1468722451328733189 ). Instead of being honest with his followers, CanonSeeker said that *I* had an issue with my inclusion on the list. He lied. The truth was, he took me off because I criticized the “disclaimer” I was given and the “Us vs Them” Mentality he had in his descriptions of people on his list (my full post can be seen in the Tweet)

This is just one lie of many that CanonSeeker has spread. I confronted CanonSeeker about this, under the post where that person made the “No Calxiyn?” comment in fact, and he apologized multiple times for the “misunderstanding” and “added me back to the list.” In truth, I didn’t care about being on the list or not. However, I did care that he was lying to his followers about me. 

Fast forward:

CanonSeeker comes into my Discord Server to vent about how he’s being “banned from other Discord Servers because of someone impersonating him”. He says people are spreading lies about him.

I point out that at this time, just the other day he reblogged someone’s Tumblr Post which had misinformation about my Cinder Rewrite video, spreading again, more lies about me to his followers.

CanonSeeker again, apologies and deletes his reblog. While spreading all this information about me, CanonSeeker posts on places like Twitter about how my Rewrite is “nice and respectful, it’s great!” and leaves me a YouTube comment saying so. But behind my back, he spreads misinformation about the video.

In between all of this, CanonSeeker under his many Twitter Alt accounts gets into fights with other people about the RWBY Critics. Under one of my videos, he brings up how it’s “so much better than Vex Viewer’s” without any prompting. I tell him how toxic that is, especially for me, for me to post a video and instead of hearing praise towards me - have him shit talk Vexed Viewer and other people. This happened A LOT. I would post my regular content, and he would take the opportunity to make it about himself, his crusade against the HDTM and talk negatively about other RWBYTubers.

This brings us to the most recent situation. On Twitter, Critter called out the fact that CanonSeeker said he was taking Raijin off the RWBYTuber list for his video about the RWBY Fandom Toxicity. A video where Raijin was nothing but respectful and kind. I chime in with my support for Raijin and the other people who have experienced this sort of behaviour from CanonSeeker - where as soon as they say anything he doesn’t like, he turns on them.

This is where things start to get really strange.

This is Canon Seeker’s account. However, in this screenshot you’ll notice he’s taking about himself in the third person.

The focus of this conversation was talking badly about Critter and defending himself.

However, you may have noticed something by now - RedIsBetterThanAsh is the account I posted discord screenshots of previously. That’s because “Red”, pretending to be another person, is actually CanonSeeker. You can see he responds to me calling him Canon in the other screenshot, and I have more screenshots of his user history on Twitter.

So CanonSeeker, using his CanonSeeker account, attempts to trick my members into thinking he’s a third person who is “going to send Answer an ask on Tumblr and recommend they remove the negative talk about YouTubers”

My Moderation team decides to talk to him in order to figure out why he’s pretending to be another person when we can all see his user history. He says he “wants to change” and pretended not to be himself so he could “learn what other people were saying about him”. But the moderation team is tired by all the times CanonSeeker has promised to change his behaviour.

While we are deciding what punishment to give him, we notice that an account that was created yesterday deleted all their messages and miraculously disappeared. Suspecting this is yet another puppet account by CanonSeeker, we confront him about this. He lies multiple times and says it is his friends.

He also a Tumblr account claiming that it was his “friend”, but then deleted it. They said that it was the account of someone called: Instant Panda Crown https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/instantpandacrown

And wouldn’t you know it:

That blog has now entirely been deleted.

So why am I posting this?

I wasn’t going to speak of what happened in my discord server publicly. But seeing CanonSeeker continue to spin narratives about me supporting Critter harassing him on his Tumblr - after lying to me multiple times and “promising to change” - really annoyed me.

They have pretended to be other people, lied about “wanting to change” & planted fake discourse about RWBYTubers they dislike. And now he’s STILL DOING IT. Neglecting to mention anything about him ban evading from The RWBY Reddit Discord using the Hawaiian account, or why he was banned from my discord server, or the constant negativity he has blown my way.

And I also ask this of the Tumblr RWBY Fandom: stop believing things without evidence just because “your mutual” or “your friend” is the one who posts it. This person is a chronic liar and manipulator. How many times are you going to let someone promise you they “really want to change” before you stop giving 4th, 5th and 6th chances? This behaviour is obsessive, unhealthy and more toxic than anything I have ever experienced from the so called “HDTM”.

It’s always amusing of how, every time someone lists a shit ton of “crimes” the Atlas Military did in RWBY, most of the items listed either aren’t even their doing.

Like, I’m pretty sure “Run a bunch of companies that are discriminatory towards faunus” and “Run a mine with no safety regulation, killing everyone inside” is the Schnee Dust Company’s doing, not Atlas Military.

And “Belittle and mock beacon and vale for the events of v3“ is something only one person did, and she wasn’t even part of the Military but rather the rich Atlasians.

“Allow Child Slavery” comes off as extremely stupid because this implies that the Atlas Military is bad for not overriding authority when most of the discussion about Atlas, as well as its theme, that Atlas overriding authority is a bad thing.

Lastly, “Create a robot army to fuel their military.“ is made to sound entirely evil, but that’s only because the context for why a robot army is being created is removed. Yeah, fuck you, Ironwood, for wanting to remove humans from the battlefield and prevent them from dying unnecessary deaths.

The entire RWBY fandom needs to see this right now. The only thing y'all are doing is making it look like you obsess and care more about critic opinions than what you're actually supposed to be a fan of. It's really not a good look for what is *supposed* to be the positive side of the community.

So I’ve been seeing a number of people criticizing the Ice Queendom redesigns and generally worrying about the changes the anime might be making to the characters and story of RWBY. And while I can totally sympathize with the concern and trepidation there, I also can’t help but be a bit concerned that people will be going into this anime expecting to hate it or something.

Like personally, one of the big reasons I’m so excited for Ice Queendom is precisely because it’s going to be different. RWBY as a franchise has been made by an American creative team looking at Japanese anime. Now we’re seeing the creative-cultural lens turned around. RWBY Ice Queendom represents a Japanese anime creative team looking at the work of an American creative team who were in turn inspired by Japanese anime.

And frankly, I think that is fascinating. What does RWBY look like when filtered back through the creative-cultural lens that inspired it in the first place? This isn’t even a case of things coming ‘full circle’, because of course there was no ‘original Japanese’ version of RWBY. I am very curious as to what to what this show is going to do different. I’m even more curious as to what’s going to be the same.

Do I expect to like all of the changes they make? No. Do I expect to like this anime more than RWBY-proper? Of course not. But that doesn’t mean I’m going into this anime expecting to just ‘hate what they’ve done to RWBY’ on principle or something. Or already trying to make some kind of list of what differences are ‘bad’.

IDK, I guess when I see people worrying that Ice Queendom is ‘being made for people who hate everything that came after Volume 3′ or something like that, I get concerned that we’re going to have a lot of people going into this anime with a purist 'this adaptation did something different, therefore it’s bad’ stance. And frankly, that’s not going to be fun for anyone.

Literally ALL of this. Some people in the fandom straight up don't want others to think that Adam was a very real victim and it's the most ignorant and disgusting shit.

Adam’s a pretty meh character for me, but seriously, the take saying he’s a ‘deconstruction’ of White Savior narratives is just complete brain rot.

IT’S SO WILD BECAUSE YOU CANNOT BE A WHITE SAVIOUR IF YOU ARE PART OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING “SAVED”.

IF ANYONE IS A WHITE SAVIOUR, IT’S FUCKING YANG IN EVERY OTHER BB STORY IN THIS GODDAMN FNDM

And this meme really does just highlight the ultimate thing, amongst others, that is wrong with Adam and his character. He is part of the oppressed race being demonised because he’s gone on the “slippery slope of protesting turning into terrorism”, but he is literally one of the only Faunus, along with Ilia, in the show to have suffered from humanity.

Not only suffered, but suffered in a way that is uncomfortably similar to how black slaves were treated, and given how much MK took from the black civil rights and their history, this is really fucking racist. Because we have this character who’s the only character to be shown suffering from this, and they decided that him being a racist and abusive incel was more important than a mentor who’s views differed from Blake’s.

And this also bleeds into Blake’s character, because her beliefs don’t matter anymore. Her story isn’t her and Adam having differing thoughts on how to help their people, most of it now is based on their relationship and how shitty Adam was to Blake. 

They decided that was more important to tell than how different people and their beliefs are even when they’re in the same boat. Add onto how Blake is now essentially a princess of an ethnostate, who could go home at any time, and it’s just ugly reading all around.

Ah that's right, you're the same troll that was defending Canonseeker outright lying about Fixing RWBY and the crew in my post exposing him. I'm just going to drop Tumblingxelian's Adam post and my response for the sake of others and ignore your existence now.

Me: Reasonably lays out how the writer's focusing on Adam to move the WF plot forward was it's undoing, and that Sienna should have been the focus from the start.

These people are so transparent, they always pretend as if they actually care about how harmful and disrespectful the WF plot was to us, but always reveal themselves to care more about weirdly wanting Blake to be abused than anything else. And it very much IS about their desire to fantasize abuse, as when you bring to their attention how part of Blake's V5 arc was her overcoming and defeating Adam in V5, that's not enough for them.

They wouldn't change a thing about Adam, ignoring the fact that him being written the way he was is the main part of what screwed over the WF plot in the first place. I wish they would just admit they don't care about people of color and our struggles. It's the fakeness in the fandom that gets me.

The reason why I got into an argument with the guy I showed in the screenshot is because him wanting Blake to be abused is exactly what he was saying yes. He was preaching that Adam shouldn't be changed in any way because him being abusive to Blake was good for her character. I'll let the screenshot from his post below speak for itself.

Just the fact that Adam was compared to Jacques is all you need to know about how ignorant people like this guy are and how much they don't care about the consequences and issues with the WF narrative, lip service be damned.
