4.17.2024 — I always used to get told off for studying without the lights on when I was younger. Now I’m an adult and can do want I want. One of the little joys in my life is studying or working in a dim room with a candle lit. Whoever said it’s the little things was right. 🕯☕️

Hi!

I personally think sophomore year is really good for sort of figuring out what classes you like and what study techniques work best for your personal style (ex: physical planner or online calender, having a specified study time or place). It's helpful to know later on when classes might get harder.

I think most of all, just try out new clubs/classes and see what you like doing so you can find classes which can be more fun later on.

Honestly, I'm pretty behind on my C work- I've just been watching the AP Classroom videos and was going to try and catch their live review sessions this year. (I believe they start this Monday??)

Got some AP physics C study done this morning and had my optics test for AP physics 2. I think it went okay, save for forgetting how speed of refracted light relates to its angle of refraction.

I did notice, however, that I had accidentally left the blue rubber band from my lunch around my wrist before the test, and I ended up using it as a fidget. Incidentally, the last time this happened was during our previous test on magnetism, which I did really well on. I wonder if that rubber band will become my lucky charm?

I'm currently racing to catch up with my self studied AP Physics C work after learning its probably the most important test I'm taking credit-wise.

It's been so weird walking around the school and counting down the days till I graduate. There's a lot I won't miss, but there's also physics class with all my friends and the teacher I've best gotten to know over three years, the GSA club meetings every wednesday, and the free-period study sessions in the library. I know what's coming next will be fun, but I am sad to leave what I have now.

More of a resource recommendation than for specific media, but learning Spanish in the US, I've been using ViX: TV deportes y noticias. You can watch a lot of their shows and movies for free with ads if you make an account. I've found a lot of telenovelas there, and many other interesting shows and movies in Spanish or dubbed into Spanish and it's helped me a lot with listening comprehension!
