Can you give some art tips? Your art is so good and I'm a beginner artist and it's so hard. Sometimes I wanna give up 😩 like how do I get to where you are in art?

Hi hello! I am not the greatest at giving art tips but I'll try haha:

Ok so try to experiment a bit! By this I mean try to use different techniques! Try different art styles (even if it's something as small as changing the way you draw eyes). Obviously the number one art tip is always - keep drawing and practicing - but that advice doesn't sound helpful and is pretty redundant, so constantly trying something new while practicing helps!

A lot of art and creativity is related to adaption. I'm someone who's a huge condoner for beginner artists to take heavy inspiration. If there's an artist or show with an appealing art style or color scheme or whatever, try redrawing it or copying it! (Even trace maybe! As long as you only use it for practice and don't claim it as your own ofc) This way you can slowly but surely realize what art traits suit your preference and adapt them into your own style^^ a lot of this is subconscious too! For example one of my friends liked the shading style in lmk and then subconsciously adapted it into their style :D

And to top it all off - I'll give you the corniest advice of all - JUST HAVE FUN!! Online art spaces are filled with so many talented (especially young) artists it can kind of feel discouraging to see your art not meet the standard of other artists you know and follow; we've all been there! So simply resisting the urge to constantly compare can do leagues of service. Art is supposed to be fun and relaxing! If you are constantly stressing yourself out in a kind of "oh this doesn't look good enough" or "ugh anatomy is hard I wish my art looked like x and y" - try to let it go. As long as you're drawing you are winning! As long is you are not giving up you are winning! Everything else will come naturally.

#PREACH IT LOUDER UFUGUGUGUGUHHHHH #the whole set up for lmk wukong is genius in my opinion. him being deliberately stripped of his development by all the antags #seeing him only for his flaws. and nothing more. completely ignoring how much he's improved as a person through the years. #and then to co-inside with this wukong - although being a better person now still messes up and makes mistakes #and even serves somewhat antagonistic roles in certain character narratives in my opinion #so you as the audience still can't see him as this “perfectly good guy” but the more you watch the more you desire to root for him!! #because he has come so far and you only want to see him come further! #he is genuinely one of the most morally complex and just generally complex characters I have seen in a kids show in recent years #yes. sun wukong as in the jttw character is already complex as hell but just the specific things lmk decided to use as the driving points #of his arc in this “sequel story” type narrative are so awesome sauce #It's embarrassing to admit but it took me like a solid month or two to properly characterize wukong in my head when I first watched the sho #I just think more people should do that /lh
