Style in the time of a Pandemic is an interesting thing. With most people working from home, not working at all, and no way to shop in stores, we're left with a new approach to defining our looks. The obvious answer is shopping online however, I find the most aesthetically arousing ensembles were not purchased online. And the person wearing it... well they don’t usually shop online either. This is because the most stylish people are creatives and they shop with their senses. When shopping to see is to believe and to touch and feel yourself in the garment is the action that leads to noteworthy purchases. So what now? I’ve had a few clients reach out to me in regard to their wardrobe or lack thereof, they're feeling confused on how to properly shop online and wondering where they can even purchase the fashion that's roaming around in their minds. One of the first tools I suggest is instagram, before you go to online stores try checking out accounts where you enjoy the style and see what brands are tagged. Another platform is Pinterest which is saturated with ideas for outfits. Both of these platforms usually tag the brands and designers, it’s like a personal look book. When it comes to shopping you don't want to be in vagueness as it leads to impulsive purchases and sometimes ill fitting clothing. Gaining clarity and vision around your desired look is a good foundation to take into your online shopping excursion because it directs you to the right retailers and eliminates aimless cyber surfing. Once you've arrived to the online store of your dreams, go for the things that call to you! I have a rule, I only buy what I  love and I only buy things that deep down I know I will wear a lot. This conserves so much energy, space, and money while allowing me to create a wardrobe that reflects authenticity and my highest self. The feeling of wearing something that  you love, that fits well, and complements your inner beauty is priceless. Some of my favorite brands include: Saint Laurant, Gucci, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Other Stories, Everlane, 45 Ten, Uniqlo, Levis, and Theory. For a cheaper thrill I ocassionally hit H&M and for vintage I like What Goes Around Comes Around, Worship, and Chess and Sphinx which can be purchased via Instagram. We will be able to shop in stores again, and Sunday stroll the boutiques with our friends but until then we use the internet and we use it wisely!

I moved to NYC 12 years ago today. I didn’t know even one person and I’d only been here one other time for two days. Everything I did was by trial and error. But it always seemed to workout. I’ve had some of the coolest jobs that were beyond my wildest dreams and met and worked with people that were icons to me! 10 years ago I fell into a rent stabilized apartment in one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city and I’ve lived here ever since. Today I was walking around and despite what’s going on we were able to get rad af snacks you probably can’t find other places, and hang at Mccarren where people played guitars and played with dogs... just wearing masks and distancing. It’s very fashionable for a pandemic I guess because it’s New York. #nyc #ilovenewyork #pandemic #life #fashion #style (at New York, N Y) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_0_WC8JXWu/?igshid=1br84tqcmkrc2
