Right? This should be no surprise, especially where Bitchthesda is concerned. I literally made triple sure my game couldn't update because it's just common damn knowledge that whenever they try to "refresh" their games they break everything, including the game itself. They are making FO4 their new Skyrim project to try to squeeze more money out of it. This won't be the last time they do this with this game.

Even though this is stuff *related* to their content and not actual Nintendo content (which is why it's stupid to get their panties in a twist since no one is making money off of it) it is still a good reminder that if you want the real Nintendo content it is always morally right to steal from Nintendo. It is also the only way we are gonna keep shit from disappearing.

Not saying anything nobody's said before, but the way Fallout is a foundationally anti-capitalist story that got turned into funkopop sci-fi pastiche slop for morons is painful to the point of brilliance. Makes its points about greed and power that much more salient.

It occurs to me that they set it up for this big update to be around the time of the show because they knew it would bring in more fans, and the irony of it really giving them the true Bitchthesda Experience is *chef's kiss*

Oh yeah, the FO4 update just broke the shit out of mods because it broke F4SE which is crucial for 90% or more of mods. The script extender folks are saying this is exactly what happened when Bitchthesda released Skyrim Anniversary edition, they are trying to fix it, and they have zero timeline for when that will be finished.

Edit: I haven't run it. I refuse to let it update. I just went to check f4se website and saw that. I am bookmarking all the workarounds for when my headspace is willing to deal with it as I had already moved and backed up saves and mods and everything.

For those new to FO4, get used to that. Save often, use multiple saves, back it all up, and don't trust Bitchthesda with a damn thing.

Incoming personal opinion on the FO4 Next Gen Update which just released and the patch notes made me laugh. If y'all are excited, awesome. Me? Not so much and that's unlikely to change. My blog I can bitch if I want to.

Just so y'all know, GOG.com is selling the Fallout franchise super cheap. This includes Fallout 4 GOTY if you, like me, want to put it somewhere on your hard drive so this next gen update can't touch it.

It's a bullshit "update", y'all. Oh sure, performance improvements and they made it look pretty on new hardware, although Super Spouse said he's already seen some evidence of these "improvements" and they are hilarious. I haven't seen them yet, but I will.

The rest of this update, though? Remember they were like "and we're gonna give you a bunch of free stuff!"

NINE ITEMS. A handful of Creation Club shit they already tried to sell. I said when they made the announcement that it was going to be CC content, but they couldn't be bothered to gives us more than NINE ITEMS and a few quests. I mean, the CC was bullshit anyway because they were basically charging for mods. And, this update guaranteed the breakage of all other mods. You'd think for a company who has a "oh the modders will fix it anyway" attitude they'd stop breaking said mods.

I also like how they started the patch notes with all the new free content and then bullet pointed it later as "9 Creation Club Items". Thanks for showing us just how little we got.

This is fucking insulting. They just threw us a bone is all. They know the game is vastly unfinished and they also know there is a massive fanbase who are still playing and modding it. (It was second below Skyrim for most modded game, but that might have changed. Still in the top 5, I know.) .

They acted like they were going to give us a lot of content (I knew they were lying.) Fucking remnants of the Enclave? More nazis that the gamerbros love to worship? Is that what they gave us? Halloween content? Seriously? Couldn't give us some more companion content for those companions who were done so dirty like Preston or Cait or MacCready? Couldn't have made Goodneighbor a fucking faction with faction based content like it obviously was meant to be? Couldn't have put back all the library quests that were supposed to be there? Couldn't have added more life to Diamond City and make it actually look worth of "the biggest city I've ever seen" comments people make?

I am not going to allow it to update on steam until they've done the hundred necessary patches to fix the shit they just broke in the game, which is standard for Bitchthesda. Updating it will also not happen until I guarantee all my backups are safe.

Fuck you Todd Howard.
