walking through the halls on the way to answer lady hokage’s request for his audience, suddenly he was diverted with a pull to his wrist and slammed against the wall. a muffled sound of surprise lodged in his throat. eyes moved quickly towards the person behind the assault, his eyes met with that of a certain blonde male.

absurd.
who would not know of the well known black booked ninjas who joined the akatsuki?
if this happened prior to him meeting naruto, he would not have hesitated to attack. the taunts were unnecessary as he is now a different person than he was. it would take too much provoking before he would retort to killing.

he more or less had an idea what the uchiha was here for. is is uncharacteristic of the akatsuki to send someone not from suna for the bijuu within him. wasn’t that how akatsuki likes to play the game? sending their members to their ex affiliating village to obtain their bijuu as an act of stirring up past wounds and making it ache more...?
...the very people who left their village is back to throw it into chaos?
was this another move with a hidden motive? he couldnt tell. nevertheless, he is prepared to protect the village even if it costs him his life...then again, he refuse to fall into the hands of the enemy easily.

an akatsuki...have they come for me? now of all times? is it wise to send just one man? are they underestimating my capabilities?
he has heard many things about this uchiha and it is not likely he would be sent here alone. he might be a genius but the drawback to his excellent perceive and act skills would be his lack of stamina while gaara had much to dispose. if he could draw this out a little longer, he will be fine.
“there is no need to get the villagers involved. what is it you want, itachi uchiha? depending on your answer i will choose to kill you or not...”
