I’m getting a book published!

It’s official!! My YA Fantasy novel is being published by Parliament House Press and will be out in Spring 2022!

I’m so beyond excited (and nervous, and terrified) but my book is going to be out in the world! IT HAS A GOODREADS LISTING AND EVERYTHING

I can’t wait for you all to meet my characters and my world. I have an underground city, deeply platonic relationships, a corrupt council, magic dreams, and wheelchairs.

Haven’t been here for a while

My usual therapy for when I’m sad/in pain/struggling like today is to write through it (a lot of my fics get written like that)

I even have an idea, several ideas

But today I am in too much pain to hold my arms up to my laptop even with my wrist braces on, so no writing for me xD

So, I’ve noticed that some folks are big mad about that love is love tweet.

“Love is love” literally is an assimilationist statement. That is the entire point of the slogan. It was literally created as a shorthand and catchy way to say that there is no difference between straight and gay love/relationships/marriages.

I’m not saying that it’s bad or that it shouldn’t be used. Hell, after the marriage equality decision, I put “love is love” and “love wins” stickers everywhere. Still have a bunch of them.

What I’m saying that “love is love” leaves a lot of people behind. I won’t ignore that.

“Love is love” is “We’re just like you! We won’t disrupt the institution, we want to be a part of it!”

I don’t want access to the bells and whistles of straight privilege, I want to destroy straight privilege. I want to live in a world without heteronormativity.

I don’t want to carry banners that say “I’m just like you! Don’t abuse or kill me because we’re really the same!” I want you to respect that we’re different and I have the right to exist too.

I’m not only concerned with the freedom and rights of monogamously married couples with 2 children, a dog, and a white picket fence. I care about all family types, all relationship types, chosen familes, non-nuclear families, all kinds of family.

“Love is love” leaves behind a lot of people who don’t or can’t emulate the heterosexual norm. It isn’t enough for the same reason that marriage equality isn’t the be-all and end-all of LGBT rights.

I don’t want to copy heterosexuals in hope of gaining their approval. I want to create and be a part of something better. I don’t want to leave anyone behind.

If that makes me too radical for you, then fine, that’s good with me.

Logically, from personal relationship experience and also thinking specifically of dnp, I’m p certain they don’t hug one another every time one comes home from being out somewhere.

i don’t think anything makes me happier than phil’s coming out video… like i love dan’s more than any video i’ve ever watched and it’s so so good and important but it’s also kinda like getting repeatedly punched in the gut so i can’t rewatch it all that much. phil’s? equally as important but lighthearted enough that i can do nothing but just smile throughout the whole thing. i love them both so much. fuck dan and phil for making me soft for them.
