Remember to thank the Almighty daily for every new day He allows us to face. At times we forget that even another breath of fresh air is a blessing. Forgive us for taking things for granted. May we always be mindful of our blessings and be reminded to count them every day.

❝The Quran is not meant to decorate our bookshelves, but deeply penetrate our hearts.
You can tell the pages of a Mushaf that has been read frequently. The cover is barely holding on, and the pages have creases from how frequently they were turned. Every year I remember my Mom's Mushaf and her recitation of the Quran in Ramadan. It was 2006 that she fasted her last Ramadan. If was as if she knew it would be her last, though there were no outward indications.
Her Ramadan that year was unlike any I'd ever seen. It was as if she didn't say a word except at the dinner table, because she spent it all in the recitation of the Quran. She was averaging half the Quran a day, and ended the month with 14 full Khatms. And I think she was disappointed she didn't finish 15.
Dear brothers and sisters, the month of Qur'an is upon us. Read it, reflect on it, and grow with it. Keep your tongue busy with it, and let it's meanings settle in your heart, and it's calls be manifested in your ways.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The Qur'an will come on the day of judgement in the form of a pale man and say, "I am the one who kept you up at night, and thirsty throughout the day." (Ibn Majah)
Oh Allah make it the spring of our hearts, the light of our chests, and the reliever of our distress. Oh Allah, let it be read frequently in our homes, and acted upon in our lives. Let our mushafs and places of prostration cry for us after we die, and testify for us when we are raised. Make us people of Qur'an. Ameen❞

"All praise is due to Allah, who created man from clay.
The master and owner of judgement day.
Allah who knows what we conceal and knows what we reveal.
And what leaves may fall, and what the animals feel.
And upon His messenger we ask his salah and His praise.
And we ask to remain steadfast until the end of our days." Ameen.

❝God is a perfect being, we are imperfect. God doesn’t have needs, we have needs.
Part of having needs means that you are deficient. The person that has needs is a deficient person. If I’m perfect I am free from need. That is why God is called Al-Ghaniyy (The Self-Sufficient One).
Never forget who you are, and never forget who God is. Never forget that God is perfect and free of need. And I am totally in need of Him.❞

Just a few weeks before all the major lockdowns started, I was making tawaf around the Ka’aba with thousands of people from all over the world. Today, Masjid Al-Haram looks completely different as a result of the measures taken because of #covid19.
I can’t imagine all the people that had plans for making what is a once in a lifetime journey for most. Getting mentally prepared for weeks and months to travel to these holy places, only to have to cancel everything at the last minute without any warning. This is a trip most people can only dream about. And for some, it will have to continue being just a dream, for now.
Sometimes your blessings come up and stare you right in the face. You get reminded of how fortunate you are, and to not take anything for granted. #Alhamdulillah

❝Don’t ask Allah based on you, ask Allah based on Him.
If we were to ask Allah based on me, then my dua would be very simple. When you ask Allah you first have to think “Who is Allah? Who am I asking?” It’s not like asking somebody else.
Allah has no limitations.
Ask yourself how many things Allah has given you, that you didn’t necessarily even qualify for. Allah just gave it to you. How many of you got a job that you didn’t think you would get? How many of you got into a school that you didn’t think you would get into? Part of what you do when you make dua, is you’re implicitly telling Allah “I know you know what’s best for me.”❞

❝Truly the awliya (friends) of Allah are hidden amongst his servants. Sometimes you meet people with very little knowledge, very humble jobs, and in no leadership role. But they put you to shame with their good character and you can’t help but wonder if it’s that special connection that they have with Allah that causes them to tread the earth so lightly. Oh Allah make us amongst them. Ameen.❞
