Shiny hunting in Scarlet for me so far has been:

Deliberately looking for something specific and you have a sparkling + encounter lvl. 3 sandwich active? No dice, no matter how many Pokemon in question you defeat with auto battle.

Just wandering around aimlessly? Here's two random shinies within walking distance of each other.

On one hand, still haven't found a shiny Scizor. On the other hand, found a shiny Charmander (the other shiny was Smeargle).
