Y'all may remember last April that I fell on my patio, and as a result, I had knee surgery in May. Well, I decided that one thing I could do to help myself was GET SOME OF MY WEIGHT OFF to relieve some of the pressure on my knee!! I started cutting out "most" of the sugar and junk food from my diet and started eating healthier foods. No gimmicks, no fad diets, no pills, no surgeries... JUST BETTER FOOD CHOICES! This week, I celebrated losing a total of 70 pounds since I started my journey on April 24th. S-E-V-E-N-T-Y P-O-U-N-D-S!! My husband joined me on the journey in July, and he has lost 55 pounds. We have counted calories and stayed within a budget for each of us. Me, 1200... Him, 1800. If you are eating good, satiating food, you won't be hungry with that amount. We also work hard to drink PLENTY OF WATER!! So, yes, a little progress each day adds up, BIG TIME! Have I slipped a little every now and then?? Uhm, yes, but I just got up and shook off and started again. So, if you made a resolution to get healthier, I'm so proud of and for you. Keep it up! This is about the time people start giving up on their resolutions. I am here to tell you... Keep going and make healthy choices! You've got this! One of my many 2022 goals is to separate myself from all the things, people, places, etc. that I have tolerated in the past and become more authentic and true to myself. Selfish? NOPE!
