So I’m going to state something:

This fandom has a problem with self-awareness. All those people who say they used to be Buddie fans but no longer are? You were never a fan of Buddie. Your enjoyment revolved around Buck. Eddie has only ever been a placeholder for any dude. And now there’s an ‘any’ dude like there is current canon, you’re happy enough. And that’s totally your prerogative. Ship whatever you want.

But please don’t pretend a few mean Buddie shippers are the reason your super strong and deep and everlasting love of Buddie is no more. If you cared that much, it wouldn’t take so little. And again, that’s fine. This fandom tilts towards favouring Buck and Eddie’s journey has been deemed unimportant as a result . Theres no shame in liking something out of convenience and then moving on from it, but don’t pretend it’s anything other than that and that it’s somehow other people’s fault🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm extremely close to blocking the Buddie tag and honestly I hate that, but I've just seen FOUR posts in the bucktommy tag about how Tommy is "the teacher" on Buck's road to Eddie and how Eddie will magically figure out he's in love with Buck at the wedding.

This is Oliver Stark, who’s head canoned Buck as bi for literal years but never once said so until it was canonically true.

Oliver Stark, who literally deactivated his social media because he didn’t want to accidentally come across as confirming anything and give fans false hope.

Oliver Stark, who is now answering Buddie questions in interviews – questions that ABC has obviously greenlit – and who plays along instead of backtracking when asked about a season 10 Buddie wedding and who admits to crying over Buddie edits and who has read Buddie fanfiction and who admits that there’s chemistry there and that the Buddie fans aren’t wrong. All with a giant smile on his face.

This shift in attitude and approach is insane.

i just want to reiterate my stance on multishipping really fast. i know i said that you can multiship but of course you don’t have to. there are so many people on both sides of the aisle talking about how a lot of buddie shippers who think buck and tommy are cute together are jumping ship. that’s more so what i was referring to when talking about multishipping within the 9-1-1 fandom.

no hate to OP at all. i’m just using their post as a point of reference.

So tired of people saying “you can multiship” exactly YOU can Multiship if you want to, but I don’t ship both. I have in the past with other ships when I liked a character with more than one person, but it’s not my fault buddie is top tier and I’m positive no one will ever be better for them than each other. That doesn’t mean I hate Tommy I just don’t care for them as a couple. I gave them a chance and I don’t particularly care how long they are together. I also don’t like the argument like Buck “has to have a serious boyfriend before buddie could happen” buddie aside that’s gross there’s no wrong way or right way to be bisexual, and the way people are enforcing it like it’s a law is weird and not ok to do. Even if you’re going from personal experience everyone’s journey is different.

The reason the writers decided to switch the Tommy kiss to Buck from Eddie is because they knew that if Eddie came out first there would be NO slowburn, Buck would jump headfirst and propose marriage IMMEDIATELY. The only way to get a slowburn was to have Buck come out first and give Eddie even more Catholic Guilt™️

Y'ALL...so i really thought ppl were so shocked when buck kissed a boy because buddie was a crack ship...I did not realize that no, they played buck as straight up giggling and kicking his feet in the air over Eddie from the end of the first fucking episode he was in...these hot men with crazy chemistry are played as co parents within 3 episodes of knowing each other! And the show just, NEVER ADKNLOWEDGES THE FACT THAT THEY WANNA FUCK SO BAD IT MAKES THEM LOOK STUPID. it's so wild. If I had to watch this shit for 7 seasons before one of them was confirmed bi (not even for the ship to go canon) I would loose my mind

- the Kitchen Scene™

- after Buck helps to make the skateboard for Chris

- after the Well

- after the whole thing with the Buckley parents (not inmediately, but soon)

- after the shooting and the reveal of the will

- after the whole prison break/hostage situation

- after Eddie's breakdown and therapy (so somewhere near ep. 16-17-18)

- after the domestic couch scene in s6

- after the lightning and Buck waking up

- especially when he goes over to Eddie and falls asleep on the couch

- during the "she sees me" scene

- after Eddie's first blind date

- after the poker date (it would have been iconic)

- and in the aftermath of the bridge collapse

i realize i recently made a post talking about how amazing multishipping is and i still stand by that. i’ll probably continue to stand by that but for the love of god, if you are going to talk negatively about or trash a ship, tag your post correctly.

i’ve been scrolling the buddie tag for about five minutes and i’ve seen nothing but pro bucktommy posts trashing buddie and vise versa.

i’m happy for the bucktommy shippers, truly. i just don’t want to see it in the buddie tag. anti tags exist for a reason.
