The first time Chan held your hand, they were as smooth as a baby’s skin. He tried not to think too much about your reaction as he looked forward, heat crawling up his neck. A tinkling laugh comes from you as you link your fingers in between the crevices of his tightly, the beating organ in his chest rapid. The park is drenched in gold, kids playing and dogs wagging their tails. He admires you then, glossy lips pursed as the sun colours your irises vivid. You sway your linked hands back and forth as you continue walking, his feelings for you as clear as the day sky. Underneath the cloud-littered dome, with hesitancy in his tone, he asks, “it won’t hurt for a second date right?” And your agreement to the proposal causes his heart to bloom.

The second date quickly multiplies into more, your feelings for Chan flourishing in spring. Your fingers tangle in his soft onyx strands, the picnic food packed up clean. The sun was kind enough to not be as searing, a soft breeze causing the tree leaves to sway. Gentle fingers guide yours away from his hair as he kisses your wrist, heat blossoming on your cheeks at the action. He pushes his sunglasses up, eyes the shape of crescent moons when he grins at you.

“Go to sleep, Channie. Could see your eyes trying not to close through your glasses,” you encourage, bringing your fingers back to his hair.

“I like it when you brush my hair. Feels nice. Soothing,” he murmurs as he links your hands together.
