Butterball by Lush
This is the next bath bomb from the batch I recently ordered from Lush. It's one of their popular classics, so I was very excited to try it out (it's also one of their least expensive!).
Tumblr media
As far as looks go, this bath bomb is fairly unassuming, being a simple white sphere that bears Lush's logo. It's also much smaller than many other Lush bath bombs - only about half the size (about 3 oz).
Tumblr media
The bath water it creates is also a bit lackluster. The water does not change color at all. The only effect is the cocoa butter that gave the water a sheen as the bath bomb dissolved (they can be seen in the photo as yellowish blobs floating on the surface of the water).
Don't let the lack of visual experience prevent you from trying this out though. What it lacked in that area, it more than made up for in scent and moisturization. The scent was a lovely, light, warm scent that was very relaxing. Plus, despite its small size, thanks to copious amounts of cocoa butter, this bomb was probably the most moisturizing one I've ever used. I will definitely be using this again (I may even get two next time to use simultaneously to see if that adds to the relaxation and moisturization effect)! My only complaint is I wish that Lush made a larger size to pack in even more goodness!

Golden Wonder by Lush
I got this bath bomb as a gift a while back (it's a seasonal Christmas one). It wasn't one I would've picked out myself (I prefer floral scents and this one is more warm, sometimes likened to champagne), but I was excited to try it nonetheless.
Tumblr media
First off, it's really on theme with Christmas, being gift shaped and all. The name "golden wonder" is a bit offputting, but it fits the color well. At least on the outside...
Tumblr media
Placing it in the water revealed the bath bomb was actually teal at the core, with small accents of magenta, bright yellow, orange, and bright blue. It was certainly a surprise from the appearance of the exterior.
Tumblr media
The golden wonder did stay true to its name with glitter accents and golden stars (all biodegradable - no microplastics!)
Despite my preference for floral scents, this bath bomb honestly blew me away. I loved the scent and found it warm and crisp. Truly a wonderful gift. It was also mosturizing and I personally loved the glitter clinging to my skin after the bath (though I know many do not, so fair warning)- with it being the holiday season, why not?
Overall, this bath bomb was visually pleasing, smelled amazing, and did a good job moisturizing. The surprise of multiple colors inside was lovely, along with the small golden stars. I will absolutely be buying this for myself if Lush brings it back next winter, as well as possibly as a gift so my friends can experience this as well. I cannot recommend it enough.

Floating Flower by Lush
I recently ordered a batch of bath bombs from Lush since I had a gift card and knew I would be spending a lot of time at home in the coming months. This one is the first of the multitude I used. I chose it due to its promise of floral scents (which I love), plus I thought it looked really pretty.
Tumblr media
I mean, the sky blue color, the flower in the middle - just gorgeous. It did crumble a little during transit, but that didn't ruin the beauty of this bath bomb one bit.
Tumblr media
Once put in the water, it began to fizz and dispense color immediately (characteristic of Lush bath bombs). The end result caputured here shows how it turned the water a lovely opaque sky blue with fizzy white bubbles reminiscent of clouds.
Tumblr media
As the name of the bath bomb suggests, the chrysanthemum covered in cocoa butter did float after the rest of the bomb had fizzed away.
Visually, this bath bomb was striking. From its initial state to the color it turned the water, it was lovely all the way through. It was also intensely moisturizing with the inclusion of cocoa butter. However, to my disappointment, the smell of the bath was kind of chemical-ish. I was expecting a mix of floral/herbal scents based on the description of almond and lavender oils used in the bath bomb, something close to the "crisp, clean laundry" suggested. I got more of a strong perfumey, almost artificial impression. It wasn't bad, just did not match my expectation or preferences.
Overall, this bath bomb was spectacular visually and was excellent at moisturizing. However, the scent fell flat.

I'll leave you with an image that shows how well the flower stuck together in spite of being in the water for around 20 minutes. It fell apart a bit but was largely intact, making cleanup from this bomb easier than expected. It was also just a lovely addition. While I likely won't be buying this bath bomb again, I do recommend using it at least once for the visual experience alone.
