hmmm i hate anti gaylor posts for so many reasons but let’s talk about a few. 1) like i said in my last post, people who believe conspiracy theories need to believe conspiracy theories because it gives them community they otherwise don’t have. 2) yes, taylor mentioned gaylorism in her 1989 tv prologue, but she’s also mentioned people obsessing over her boyfriends many many many times and i don’t see posts about how invasive that is! it all makes her uncomfortable! 3) swifties will absolutely ignore facts if it doesn’t match their rpf of taylor, which basically every swiftie takes part in. that’s not exclusive to gaylors. 4) when hateful rhetoric about gaylors goes around, it absolutely has consequences for the queer people in this fandom as a whole. sure, you as a queer person might be different from a gaylor, but the swifties who hate queerness will not see a difference. great example is in 2020, when taylor said betty was a song about a guy and a girl, and people who hate gaylors started doxxing the entire swiftie queer community, especially minors, calling their places of work or schools or parents to out them. that happened. a lot of swifties deleted tumblr or wiped their blogs just in case it would happen to them. at least one doxxed swiftie said that they were in an abusive household and they were now unsafe. when i say “hateful rhetoric”, i’m considering everything from ableist slurs to telling gaylors to take their lives, which happens all the time btw.

i just think we either need to be kinder to or more critical of everyone in the fandom. you pick! i won’t judge you. but be consistent
