"The Love Flower"

A tree-like shrub that blooms in the last month of summer. It's flowers are traditionally used to confees love.

There is a festival dedicated to this flower, which is equivalent to Valentine's Day in this universe. The festival lasts a whole month (the month on which this flower blooms). During this time, a person in love may confess their love for another person by presenting them a flower. If the love is answered, a newly found couple must exchange flowers and wear them, or wear a purple piece of clothing, till the end of the month to bring luck to their relationship.

In this universe, the color of love and romance is associated with purple due to this flower and the tradition.
