You either are or are not autistic. There is no such thing as high/low functioning, functioning levels regularly fluctuate within individual autistic people. A verbal person may become nonverbal. Stimuli that a person may handle well one day may be intolerable the next. Autism is fluid and it can be very hard to predict how you will function from day to day
