im a massive taylor swift fan (well not massive but like. at least a 7 on a scale of 10) but i just can't get over how SLEEPY this album sounds. every song sounds soooooo sleepy and same-ish. im no music person so i can't put my finger on it exactly but the songs are just all kinda blending into one for me.. except Florida, i like that one a lot

but yeah in general like.. folklore and evermore were so sonically interesting? and this album just sounds like a bunch of taylor swift leftovers with such similar types of instrumentals and choruses n stuff.. im sorry but this album feels like such a drag to get through.

not to mention that the content matter is getting less and less interesting because like. it's still about her exes and her love and whatnot but now it's not even PUT IN A CATCHY WAY. like it's just SLEEPY. idk what else to say about the content because what isn't about her exes is about some petty fucking drama and im not invested in her life enough to care about that im sorry.

all in all like why is this so bad. she was on such a hot streak with the re-recordings and folklore and evermore and now it's just b sides the album. i cannot imagine anyone finding this appealing after the age of like 16.

the "came back wrong" trope except like... they didnt. like this mad scientists wife died, and so he studied necromancy, brought her back, and she came back and it all worked. like she came back exactly the same as she was before with literally no difference. but the scientist guy is like "oh no... what have i done.... shes Different now!!!! she came back Wrong!!!!" and shes just like. chilling. reading a book. cooking dinner. shes just so so normal but in the guys mind hes like "oh shes soooo weird" but shes just normal

#i just don't know how to manage. my low self esteem anymore #i realized today how miserly i've become #i don't spend on anything more than the essentials and even there i cut costs #i see other people spending money on themselves and i just feel perplexed #on their hobbies and stuff too. i cannot fathom spending money on things which don't enhance my “productivity” #i feel like i don't deserve it and i just can't consider my happiness important or put effort into it without feeling guilty as hell #i feel it all kinda stems from how i was raised and how my parents rarely spent money on me outside of what's needed to “advance in life” #and i was called a spoiled kid and made to feel ashamed by my dad for wanting more than my books n stuff #i still feel like im extorting someone or taking advantage of them whenever i have the urge to buy something for myself #even though it's my money now #i just wish i could enjoy pointless things without guilt #personal #vent post
