An AU Where...
Monoma likes to steal class 1-A’s socks, specifically, he likes to take one sock from a pair so that it drives them nuts trying to find the lost ones.

Monoma Neito and Himiko Toga are Related Theory Masterpost (unofficial)
You’ve heard “Dabi is a Todoroki” theory, now I present the Toga Himiko and Neito Monoma are related theory!
I have my own personal headcanon backstory surrounding Neito being the bastard child of the Himiko mother and another man while she was married hence the different last name but it’d be much easier to just say they were cousins or something.
I just really love the idea that they’re siblings or half-siblings.
There is a lot of potential for the sister-brother or cousin-cousin or w/e family dynamic for these two. If they were childhood buddies but then were separated because Toga was slowly being isolated from the rest of her family because her parents thought she was too much of a weirdo to let near the other children.
Also consider the possibility of the both of them going through quirk dysphoria. Due to the similar nature of their quirks, actually, they have a lot of parallel themes going on:
Neito was told he couldn’t become a hero, Toga was told that she could never be… well, herself. (One of these is a more obvious extreme).
Yet it seems neither of them really regret the quirk they were born with. To them, this quirk is their “normal” and they both refuse to feel ashamed of it. In a way, you could argue that Monoma rejects the “tragedy” of himself just as much as Toga.
Ultimately both of them said “fuck it!” Monoma did become a hero and Toga did become who she wanted to be. Soooo interesting how they ended up on completely opposite ends of the spectrum!
There’s not really any concrete evidence for the theory, but there’s not really any concrete evidence against the thory. Some extra tidbits:
- Monoma Neito was there at the Summer Camp Raid but stayed with Vlad King the entire team, avoiding any confrontation with Toga. Just somethhing interesting to note.
- Speaking of Vlad King, Monoma Neito seems to have a special soft spot for the 1-B teacher. If Toga were to be rehabilitated, Monoma would most likely ask him for some help not only because of having a quirk to do with blood as well but also his close mentor-student relationship with Monoma.
- this radiates toga energy:
- toga has the same mentality as this too:
In order for Toga to become Toga Himiko, she had “no choice” but to resort to un-human-like conduct.
- horikoshi just straight up:
- they obviously love their respective group of friends. monoma is always supportive of class 1-b and toga works so hard for the league’s sake. a large component of their backstories has been the rejection and discrimination from other people because of their quirks but instead of conforming to their thinking, the both of them just ran off to find people who accepted them and their quirks. because their quirks are a part of who they are!
man if this theory ISNT true, i think i’d be more disappointed…
thanks for listening ;) if you have any more evidence feel free to add on to this post!!!
