1 Year of Drarry

I’ve been reading Drarry for 4 years now (and boy am I upset I never thought of looking up HP ff before then), and I just can’t help but think of how much joy its brought me. It’s such a rich fandom, filled with talented authors, artists, and enthusiastic readers. The sheer number of fics available to read is so massive, I feel spoiled — not to mention blessed by the outrageously fantastic quality of the works!

On this day last year, I took the plunge — after years of doubting what I could bring to the table — and posted my first ever Drarry fic.

Since then, I’ve posted more on AO3, done fests (which I’d never done before), as well as little microfics and ficlets on here. It’s been such a fun journey, and I’m glad I did it.

This post didn’t really serve a purpose other than me being much too sentimental, butttt I don’t care!!!

Anyways, I love it here (and im always looking to make more fandom friends but I’m shyyyy 🥹) and here’s to another year!!!

Remember, we’re posting headers on our Tumblr, with weekly round-ups and the final masterlists posting on both tumblr and dreamwidth. All content will be hosted at our AO3 Collection, where you can also leave comments to let our amazing H/D Erised creators know how much you’re enjoying their work.

A few quick reminders for our wonderful participants:

Please comment on your gift as soon as you can after it’s posted. Your gifter put a lot of work into creating something extra special just for you, and they are likely waiting anxiously to see your reaction.

With that in mind, if you see your gift has posted, but you know you won’t have time to read or view for 24 hours, it’d be awesome if you could leave a quick comment letting your gifter know, so they don’t have to spend the next few days worrying.

Draco can’t quite unsee it.

Madam Pomfrey removed his tattered clothes the moment Severus had rushed him up. But there are still moments — mostly when visiting hours are over and all Draco has is his thoughts — when he looks down and sees his pressed white shirt shredded and marred with his own blood. Still tastes and smells the coppery tang of it.

It’s nothing short of mortifying. Quite frankly, though, Draco secretly thinks he deserved it, wishes Potter had finished him off.

Saint Potter.

Can’t even kill Draco without mucking it up or feeling guilty. And Salazar help him, Draco knows Potter feels guilty.

Whether it be a very strong Disillusionment Charm or some other form of magic available only to the Saviour, Draco knows it’s Potter sneaking about the Hospital Wing. Curtains drawn back of their own accord, a stray chair screeching across the stone floor — Draco is absolutely certain it’s Potter creeping about.

As if the bruises and scars on Draco’s body mark him as Potter’s just because the oaf put them there.

Moonlight pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, drowning the hospital in a blanket of silver. A creak from the heavy wooden entrance doors draws Draco’s gaze away from the blank canvas of the midnight sky.

The door opens ever-so-slightly before closing again. But no one is there.

Right on schedule, Draco thinks, smiling to himself.

He might detest Potter, but there’s certainly a thrill that comes with seeing him worry over the bad guy.
