End the Innovation Obsession
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/07/opinion/sunday/end-the-innovation-obsession.html
Great article on how, too often, we’re focused on innovation for the wrong reasons.

Quote
I believe that working for something larger than yourself is the greatest thing a human can do. A family, a cause, a company, a country—these things give shape and purpose to an otherwise mechanical and brief human existence. The downside about things that are larger than ourselves, of course, is that we who have the privilege of serving them ourselves are fungible. It is the fundamental definition. You can’t have the grace of the one without the other.

Two Great Articles on Amazon
Amazon has been an unbelievable force in disruption and has had a huge role in changing consumer behavior and expectation. Here are two recent articles I’ve read on them.
The Inner Bezos - Wired: a 1999 article looking at Jeff Bezos’ life. It has some predictions that have come scary-close-to-true.
Amazon’s Antitrust Antagonist Has a Breakthrough Idea - NYTimes: A Yale Law School student takes on Amazon (and other big tech) with new thinking about antitrust.
