An angst thought that's been running in my mind.

What if Mirabel had fallen in Bruno's room after failing to swing across to his vision room or when the sand pushed her out she got pushed over the edge?

She could have cracked her head and died or been gravely injured after such a great fall and the only one that would have know would have been the rats and the toucan.

The rats and the toucan can only tell one person about Mirabel and that is baby boy Antonio who clearly sees Mirabel as a sister and is closest to her.

Just imagine, day 2 of being able to talk to animal and they are scrambling to tell you that your favorite cousin that makes you feel safe just fell to her death or is dying after trying to save the magic.

OR

Maybe you're Bruno who just watched the niece you left your family and life to protect. Plummet into the darkness of your room trying to fix the family.

What I want from the Encanto TV series season 1 (because I have chosen to live in a pretty world where this is a thing).

The major through line of the season is Mariano’s dawning realization of just how over his head he is with the family Madrigal. Like, he comes over for a nice chat with Dolores, and suddenly he’s enveloped by a pile of friendly animals trying to eat his hair while his prospective mother-in-law screams at her hail cloud.

This, of course, climaxes at the end of the season with some beautiful flashbacks about the Félix/Pepa and Agustín/Juilieta romances from the guys’ perspectives as they try to reassure him he’ll survive. (maybe)

Bruno and Camilo bounding. Seriously, they’re the only magic guys in the entire family of matriarches and matriarches in training, not counting the toddler. They deserve the report. (and I joke about my baby Antonio, he wiggles his way into bonding time too)

More flashbacks about the triplets being young adults!! Let’s see the stories of this generation!!

Isabella has decided to take up painting. And is horrible at it. She’s aghast; her flower sculptures were great, she doesn’t understand why it doesn’t transfer. Dolores eventually suggests she try talking things over with Mirabel, who’s the other visually creative person in the family. Isabella has - a familiar response. (we get some insight into how Isabella though Mirabel “had it easy,” being free of expectations and allowed to express herself and just be “the baby of the family”)

Meanwhile, poor Mirabel is reenacting the ending of the opening song, trying to hide from the villagers who have decided she’s Abuela 2.0 and now going to her with all their problems. Mirabel ends up bonding with Isabella about being the focus of the villagers’ attention, and encourages Isabella to go abstract.

Luisa and Abulea respectively having quiet breakdowns being encouraged to “step back” and “take it easy,” both strong women wanting to do so but completely lacking the knowledge of satisfying-to-them relaxation.

I swear I had more ep ideas, but can I remember them? Ah, well, suggest your own!

*Years calculated based on a combination of confirmed ages, probable course of events, the approximate timeline of early 1950s given for the main story, and in Agustin's case the fact that he was confirmed to be born on a Wednesday which makes 1901 the most probable year. Theoretically I suppose the triplets could be less than a full year older than Agustin, thus bumping everything else up another year, but 1899 makes more sense to me.

***Alma and Pedro could have met earlier, but a short timeline seems more likely based on time period in my opinion, and given that triplets are almost always early 10m10d isn't too short for an absolute minimum time-frame.

For this Merry Encanto Eve. Here's my random Kinda Angsty/Sad Headcanon for the Madrigal fam!

When Bruno was little and couldn't sleep due to his vision he used sneak out his room and fall asleep to Alma praying to the candle. When she found this out she would stretch out the prayers ling enough for Bruno to fall into deep sleep then carry him to his room. This stopped when he was 10. So when he first moved into the walls he would listen through the wall to her pray to fall asleep again 🥺

Bruno is the only sibling that really know what their Papa was like/sounded/looked due to his visions

Alma cant stand to hear Bruno talk sometimes because he sounds just like his Papa. She heard Bruno sing to Luisa once when she was toddler and Alma had to lock herself in her room for a little bit. 😔

Alma misses being able to climb and run around like she did in her youth, especially because she stop such 'childish' things when she became the town leader. She softly envies how easily Isabel and Mirabel do it.

Felix and Agustin are scared to bring their side of the family to encanto or take their children and wives out to see them. Partly because the expectation either side has, how the magic may be perceived or put in danger.

After Mirabel's gift ceremony going as it did. Agustin thought about taking her to meet his side of the family and live there to avoid being mistreated in Encanto. But then Bruno disappeared and Juliete and Pepa and Alma were so distraught so he never brought it up

Felix misses his orginal home and family a lot but his father really disapproved and disowned him when he married Pepa and moved away.

Pepa knows about Felix homesickness and family issues but he constantly shut down her trying to talk about them with him. She knows he does it for the sake of her gift and that really frustrates her.

When she had Antonio so much later in life, Pepa though she would die and wished Bruno was there to tell her eveuthing was going to be fine with a vision.

Julieta had issues growing attachment to Isabella at first due to how much she was parent-ified by Alma when she was a girl. Julieta had only about 5 years of a personality that was independent of her being a mother/caretaker figure and resented Isabella for taking that for a year or two.

Julieta never told Alma about how taxing her gift really is because she has a fear of letting her down/losing her trust by not being strong enough to heal and help others.

Even though she is very soft, sensitive and feminine. Luisa has a lot of insecurities about her perceived femininity. She knows it comes from the fact she is so big and muscular but she is a soft girl yall, she just want to be treated gently. 🥺

Lusia used to hide her small injuries like splinters or bruises or muscle strain alot because she though she was strong than those tiny hurts and that her family would scold her for wasting time taking care of them. Mirabel caught sight of a few and fretted around Luisa so much Alma sent her home. Luisa quickly stopped that and took care of her little injuries, relieved that her mama was happy to take care of them no matter what.

Isabella feel guilty that she left her sister by the wayside so much in her pursuit to be so perfect. She is a bit unsure of how but she really trying to repair them.

Isabella hates roses with a passion because that the first flower she grew and Alma pressured her to constantly practice with them.

Camilo does have a fear that his face is going to get stuck or that he will forget some tiny part of his default form and that he will gradual forget his orginal self and no one will notice

Camilo was bullied for a little bit by some kids parroting how their parents called him shifty or untrustworthy or a trickster spirt due to his gift.

Dolores used to get bullied by people blowing dog whistles at her

Dolores used the heartbeats or little physical sounds of her family as a comfort and fears the days she stops hearing them forever.

Mirabel has a lot of gifted tendencies and talents that her family ignored or brushed off as her coping.

Mirabel thought Casita hated her for a long time after the door disappeared and occasionally she has the urge to ask Casita why she didnt deserve a room.

Every Madrigal has a sort of, side effect, to their gifts.

Camilo has to eat twice as much as normal and sleeps a ton because of all the energy shapeshifting needs. He also has to carry around a picture of himself, since he forgets what he looks like.

Isabela doesn't do well in the dark. She's slow and tired, and while she doesn't need to eat much she does drink a lot more than anyone else.

Dolores gets overstimulated super easy, that much is obvious. After being overstimulated, however, everything goes completely silent. She can't hear anything. Even years after it started happening she still panics.

Julieta can't feel pain. She'll be cooking for hours and come out of it with burns on her hands and wrists, unable to feel it. Her own cooking also doesn't work on her as well as it would someone else. While another person's cut will dissapear completely with her food, if she had the same cut it would simply scab over.

Bruno gets mini visions throughout the day, just small flashes of a possible future or action. He's physically incapable of telling the difference between these mini visions and real life. He'll be going to ask Abuela a question only to see a mini flash or her getting upset and he gets upset in turn, only for it to turn out he still had yet to ask his question. He also has frequent migraines

Pepa is physically incapable of feeling anything mildly. For her emotions it's either all or nothing. She can't feel just a little upset that her favourite dress has a new tear, she's devastated to the point that everything's flooding. She can't be just a bit happy with the gift a family member has painstakingly made her, she's overjoyed to the point the encanto experiences a mini drought.

Luisa doesn't feel tired. Whether it's the fatigue from working/exercising or even just generally feeling tired at the end of a long day, she doesn't feel it. It's resulted in multiple pulled muscles and passing out from lack of sleep.

Antonio has long periods of time where he can't understand anyone but his animals, like the people around him are all speaking in a completely different language.

The three little kids are names Alejandra, "pumped" Juancho and Cecilia (the girl with braids)

Camillo's whole verse in "We Don't Talk About Burno" is pretty much an exaggeration from some rumors he heard, meaning he knew just as much as Mirabel, which is little to nothing

Camillo doesn't have to spin to use his power it's just *flair*

Antonio's jaguar is named Parce

The deadfish woman's name is Pezmuerto (which apparently means dead fish lmao)

The guy who grew a gut is named Osvaldo Orozco Ortiz (He also is the one who gave Mirabel the "Not special, special"

Burno apparently made the ritual up himself as a way to focus and cope, meaning that some visions were emotionally taxing.

Also means he is and always has been superstitious

Bruno has always been distant and kept to himself, even before he left. He overall isn't that comfortable around people

Abuela Alma has always been charmed by Felix. Agustin however was not her first choice for Julieta but Julieta loved him anyways.

Casita technically has some power over the individual rooms. Bruno's door was faded because he was "disconnected" from the family and the Casita represented that fact

The Madrigals have "many" middle names

Dolores doesn't have much control of her powers

Bruno was never considered a villain. Always a misunderstood guy

There is no confirmed answer but Jared Bush likes the idea of the stairs in Bruno's room getting longer as time passed

The gift ceremony is on the child's 5th birthday but the door begins to appear before then. There are versions where the door begins to appear when the family has a new pregnancy

Guess who watched Encanto a second time and still got all emotional wanting to make fanart again? Yes, me.

I also got the urge to draw these two after seeing really wholesome art with Luisa on Brunos shoulders from @sketchnwhatevr , I hope that's okay!

(And it just seemed wholesome to let Bruno call her "hada", which means "fairy" in spanish :) )

The next few fanarts are probably all going to feature Luisa because she's my favourite and I want to draw her bonding with so many of the family, so there's that.
