The entire first game I’m just wondering is it all a grand scheme to help Ryuu to become better at deduction or is he just an absolute goofball, and the best part is that it was BOTH. the reason Jenny Nicholson's review of the starcruiser hotel is so damning imo is that she went in completely non-cynically. if you've watched her previous videos it's apparent she loves both star wars and theme parks; she's basically the ideal customer for an experience like this. she was clearly trying to engage with the story elements and experience everything the trip had to offer, she likes kitschy animatronics and special effects - and she still had such a bad time! it's blatantly obvious the actual customer experience was an afterthought to things that would make good photo ops and tiktoks, and the whole trip relied on the functionality of an app that seems thrown together last minute. as someone who also loves star wars and theme parks, it's a real let down - but this is basically what disney has been doing since they bought the star wars ip, so I guess I'm not surprised.

In honour of the rerun, out of all the events Il Siracusano might just be the master of pay-off. The latter half of this event is absolutely insane as every single plot point fires on every single cylinder when all the characters decide to go ham. Also, the boss theme is a jam, and Texas and Lappland got to have their yuri moment.

Mlynar is my favourite arknights character (as evidenced by the fact I have him fully built), and I love the way his character is written. I’m such a huge fan of the fact that he never truly gets an earth shattering heroic moment again; either it’s very lowkey or comes at a great personal cost like in obscure wanderer. He’s searching for Nearl’s parents and his sibling exclusively for himself; he knows he might not find a light at the end of the tunnel, but it was finally something he wanted to do.

Honestly, I think this is one of Arknights’ most underrated events. The atmosphere of the town was one point, as we saw it being destroyed by the banks, perfectly represented by a fantastic cast. It was great to see Jessica’s journey to breaking into banks, and the final scenes got me feeling emotional. It felt like a reminder of how Arknights can take any theme or genre they want and excel at it if they so choose.

As I plan on going back to my Trails journey soon (Cold Steel 3!), I reminiscence on what I’ve played so far. First, huge props to the localization team for letting us play these monstrous text games here in the west. Second, I will never stop admiring the incredible size and depth of the Trails world, and the fact they’re willing to have arcs across games. What a series!

While the fans await AA7 coming into existence one day, I think about the miraculous localization of these games. I was one of the ones who went through great lengths to read the game while it was Japan-exclusive, so I was very happy when it was localized and I could see so much fan content of some of the best ace attorney characters and to see reactions to the insane twists and turns of the story. Herlock Sholmes is the best Sherlock adaptation.

Finished the most recent Star Rail update and it really is nuts how good Penacony is. The Mikhail and Acheron segments were a highlight, they’ve really nailed the feel of dreams and melancholy in conjunction with its themes. Looks like I’m on the long haul with this game, wonder if they’ll top this event.
