I hate the “open floor plan” that everyone is obsessed with in houses now. I want nooks and crannies and bizarre floor plans. I don’t need to be able to see what someone is doing on the other side of the house. I want places to hide and lurk and dwell in the shadows. I am the beast who awaits in the labyrinth

Trigun 1998 Episode Twenty-Six.
Sorry I haven’t been able to post much, but I thought I’d share this comment by Nightow on the end of the anime. I always thought this was very interesting compared to the manga ending :)
And so you carefully went over Vash's emotional journey.
Nightow: I thought, "What would Vash need the most after everything?" My idea was that after all he would shake himself free from Rem... Until then, Vash was always the one that followed her, but now he would become the one who leads her.
How did the director react to that idea?
Nightow: ... Eventually he settled on Vash abandoning his coat, which would become symbolism for a lot of things. To that, I thought "Ah!! That's a very nice idea."
So that’s how the ending was decided.
Nightow: I was so happy that the director directly called me at the very end. That I was able to feel, “Oh, I’m actually participating.” Until then, Kuroda-san acted as a mediator between me and the director. I gave out a lot of ideas, but I always left the final decisions up to him. I believed that the director should make all of the final choices, and although I am the original author, I must follow the director’s choices. So I was really surprised that he had called me.

Trimax spoilers:
I absolutely love it when Vash says 'we' as if Razlo were his own enemy too. As if Wolfwood's fight were his too. And its not even about his typical nosing his way in others' business, to protect others like Rem taught him . For just once he selfishly wanted to help and save his FRIEND, instead of strangers.
And Wolfwood getting so outraged for Vash's sake after Leonof toys with him
Vash almost naturally bringing out Wolfwood's protective instincts. For Wolfwood, the level headed, pragmatic, realist to Vash's rash, passionate, idealist, to lose his cool just like that.

I don't really feel qualified to give anyone advice about almost anything, but I have this one:
Turn off your notifications.
Not "stay off your phone." I think we're too far gone for that. But don't let the phone tell you when to look at it. For many years, my phone has been allowed to tell me when I get a text or a phone call, and that's it. It's not like I don't look at tumblr, instagram, the news, whatever. I just do it when I have a minute and feel like it, rather than jumping up when summoned. I think it makes a difference. I recommend it.
