Witch tip for all weed witches....
Instead of mixing tobacco with your weed mix it with dried chamomile flowers instead. It will have such a smoother taste, and its so much more caring for your body and the environment.
Also remember that chamomile is used in spells for peace, love, tranquillity, and purification so you could get high and do spell work on peace and love or purification! Or just meditate on these things.
Happy smoking! 🔮

Tips for the urban witch #1: herbs and flowers
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! 🌿🌱🍃🌸
As a witch living in a studio apartment in a big city, sometimes I miss being surrounded by nature and fields to pick herbs and flowers for my spells. Luckily, there are still lots of very common but powerful plants that can be easily spotted in city parks and even just growing on the side of the streets.  I went to a local park today and I found so many interesting things! The herbs I picked are very common in my area (northern Italy) but I’m sure they are also very easy to find all over Europe and in many other parts of the world.
🌸  Here’s what I found… 🌸
Ornithogalum umbellatum (“Star of Bethlehem”): it can be used to help deal with severe trauma and emotional stress, and it helps to recover from grief, accidents and scary experiences.
Tumblr media
Lamium purpureum (“Purple Dead Nettle”, “Red Archangel”): this herb is connected to the Archangel Michael. It can help recover strength and happiness in times of challenge, and to overcome obstacles.
Tumblr media
Veronica Agrestis (“Eyes of the Madonna”): since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated with these flowers. In Italian folklore, it is said that these flowers are the eyes of Mary, that stare upon us to protect us and guide us. These tiny, blue flowers are incredibly powerful in protection against harm and injustice. But be careful: never use this flower for hexing or for hurting someone else.
Tumblr media
Glechoma hederacea (“Ground Ivy”): this flower is very powerful in protection against evil magick and psychic attacks. Using this herb will help you in identifying other witches and will help you reveal who is using negative magick against you.
Tumblr media
Geranium molle (”Vulgar geranium”): these tiny purple flowers are traditionally used as a painkiller in folk medicine. In magick, they can be used to bring calm and peace and to help let go of painful feelings and experiences.
Tumblr media
Prunus serrulata ( “Japanese cherry tree”): in these weeks, lots of pink flowers fall from these beautiful trees, covering the earth beneath them in soft, pink carpets. These trees are very common in city parks because of their scenographic beauty. You can pick the fallen flowers while they’re still fresh. Because of their fleeting beauty, they represent the transience of life and can be used in spells to encourage you, or someone else, to “seize the day” and find the courage to act, especially in love matters.
Tumblr media
Potentilla reptans (“Cinquefoil”, “Five-finger grass”): I was very surprised to see how common this powerful herb is. It’s commonly used in hoodoo to bring good luck and wealth. The five points of the leaf represent love, money, health, power, and wisdom. It’s ideal for success in business and studies. The flowers may also be used in spells to attract money.
Tumblr media
🍃  Preservation 🍃 To preserve the colour and properties of these tiny flowers and delicate herbs, I suggest putting them between paper towels and pressing them using heavy books, or using a flower press.
🌿  Safety 🌿 Even though most of these plants are edible, if you picked them in a city park or in any urban area I wouldn’t suggest eating them or using them in tea for safety and hygienic reasons.
Happy spellcasting!

You don't have to do anything in order to be a Witch. You don't have to have a grimoire. You don't have to worship deities. You don't have to collect fancy tools and supplies.
However, certain tasks and habits can make Witchcraft a hell of a lot easier, even if there are no true requirements for the Craft.
Keeping some record of your spells/rituals will make it easier for you to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong or if something goes well and you want to repeat the spell.
Getting into the habit of meditating or otherwise quieting your inner mind can help sharpen your intuition and help you discern inner chatter from important insights.
Researching paths other than your own can give you a better understanding of your own beliefs, and it can help you from accidentally appropriating a closed culture.
Practicing a little bit daily rather than doing something major every once in a while can prevent feelings of burnout and prepare you for larger rituals. You can't run a marathon on your first day of training, after all. You need to build up to it.
Learning about what plants naturally grow around you or in your own yard can save you tons of money on supplies, and you'll be better connected to the spirits of those plants rather than the ones that are store-bought.
Doing your own research *before* asking questions from tumblr witches can help you build the critical thinking skills you need in order to identify if someone is feeding you BS or genuine information.
So while there's nothing you're obligated to do as a Witch, some of the suggestions people make about how to "improve" genuinely will have a positive effect on your path in the long run. It's up to you whether or not you want to take that advice.

Safe and Sound
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a gorgeous little catch all spell jar tonight that I want to share with you all! It’s great for good luck, protection, safety, health, and dispelling negative energy/curses.
1. Combine salt (protection), cinnamon (safety/comfort), and turmeric (health) in your cauldron. Grind together.
2. Take a small dead/dying leaf to represent the death of the curse and the end of the cycle of negativity. Write your spell’s intention on the leaf. I wrote “luck”.
3. Set the leaf on fire and allow it to fall into the cauldron. Grind together.
4. Pour the contents of your cauldron into a spell jar. You may need to use a funnel.
5. Top the spell jar with eucalyptus (healing) and yarrow (cleansing, defense).
6. Melt a white candle over the top of the jar and seal closed.
This spell would be perfect to wear around your neck or place on your altar. Hope someone tries this out and experiences some much needed relief.

Note
Hi Olivia, isn’t there a spell you mentioned about putting your negative energy into a penny and giving it to someone who has wronged you?
There sure is! This spell can go both ways:
Enchant the penny for luck and give it to someone
Fill the penny with the negative energy and give it to someone
Simple yet effective.

🖤 Spell Jar for Protection 🖤
Ingredients/Equipment
Chilli Flakes (or Chilli Powder, whatever's around) - to ward off unwanted guests
Rosemary - purification, protection
Salt - absorbing negative energy, protection, purification
Black Pepper (both peppercorns and grounded) - banish negativity, protection from evil
3 Bay Leaves - protection from harmful energies
Protection Sigil or a Banish Negativity Sigil
Preferably Black Candle to seal the jar (white may be used as a substitute as I have done)
A Jar
A Funnel (trust me, if you don't use one shit will go everywhere, make and use a homemade paper funnel if you need to)
Spell Method
Cast a protective circle or do your own pre-spell rituals, whatever works for you and light the candle
Cleanse your equipment and ingredients (I use specific ritual incense but again whatever works for you, sage burning, etc)
Put the ingredients in the jar one at a time, repeating a chosen affirmation for protection with each one. The order doesn't nessicarily matter as the intent is what's most important. However, I recommend leaving the bay leaves until last
Use a marker to draw a sigil that represents protection or banishing negativity on at least one of the bay leaves. If you need to break up the leaves to fit them in the jar that's okay; again, the intention is what's most important
Close the jar and seal it with the wax from the candle

Creativity Spell Jar
I recently made a creativity spell jar for Belinda and I thought I might as well post the ingredients for you guys in case anyone finds it helpful.
This spell jar is used to encourage creative ideas and to prevent any sort of creative block
Ingredients
Fern: mental clarity
Basil: prosperity, wealth, creativity
Rosemary: mental clarity, enhances memory, creativity
Clover: luck, success
Pine Needles: perseverance, prosperity, strength
Wild Sunflower Petals: optimism, creativity
Optional: I always like to write the personal/name sigil of the recipient on the spell jar as I believe that it helps to direct the energy and intent towards the specific person.
