The UNRWA is concerned that if they do not receive more funding they will run out by the end of February please spread this message
in case any of you missed it, despite the ICJ's ruling for Israel to facilitate MORE aid into Gaza, the global west has responded by cutting funding to UNWRA, which is responsible for delivering significant amounts of aid into Gaza, as well as surrounding areas such as Lebanon. The countries cutting funding consist of the US, Australia, the UK, the Netherlands, Swritzerland, Italy, Germany, Finland, Canada and Japan. This was all due to a claim by Israel that members of UNWRA were Hamas-members or sympathisers which, at the end of the day, is a claim that concerns only 12 members in a total of 30,000.
Without proper funding, UNWRA is likely to run out of resources by February of this year (only another month) and urges the countries that have suspended donations to reconsider. This is a blatant move from the colonialist countries of this world to starve Palestinians even further when they are already facing unforeseen levels of famine.
Please take some time out of your day to call your reps, your political leaders and urge them to restart their funding. In the meantime, here is a link to donate to the UNWRA.

⚠️SPREAD THE WORD⚠️ HB999/SB266 just got signed, and I refuse to keep yelling at a brick wall.
This bill aims, among other things, to ban core classes/courses of study that teach "theories that systemic racism, sexism, oppression, and privilege are inherent in the institutions of the United States and were created to maintain social, political, and economic inequities."
....which, as anybody who knows anything about anything about the United States knows, is literally the case. We see it in everything from finance to healthcare to job opportunities to literally everything we see. And we know for a fact that our institutions are and always have been steeped in inequity — such as law enforcement, which was literally brought up to maintain social, political, and economic inequities. There is no debate, only people who wish to force us back down.
The bill also bans and defunds DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs such as pride groups, Black Student Union, etc. (EDIT: The bill does not outright ban the groups, it prevents them from receiving funding outside of student fees, in the hopes of choking them out into nonexistence.)
I'm a Floridian. I refuse to keep yelling at a brick wall. I'll post it every day if I have to, but I need this to be heard. Our government does not represent us. We cannot afford to give up at this stage, we can only fight back harder. We need to be louder and stronger and more resilient than ever. And, for the last time, no we will not be moving out of Florida. We will not be giving up and leaving our homes, our families, our livelihoods — and many of us, including myself, are incapable of even doing so. We will stay and fight, and we expect those outside of Florida — even in the bluest of blue states — to stand with us and fight too. This is your fight too. Today it's Florida, tomorrow it's your home. These problems are not exclusive to Florida. These problems are FAR from exclusive to Florida. These are problems that are rearing their heads across the whole nation, that could become mirrored in other nations as well — and we need to fight back NOW — or forever wish we had.

Both Latine/x Heritage AND LGTBQ+ History Month mean honoring the legacy and resilience of our queer and trans ancestors. Today, we honor Lorena Borjas and her legacy of radical, compassionate care. Lorena Borjas was a trans Latinx s*x worker and activist in Queens, New York, focusing her work on supporting trans and queer folks on the streets. Since the 90s onwards, Borjas worked to protect transgender victims of human trafficking (which she herself had experienced) and systemic violence. She hosted trans women who had been ostracized from their families in her own apartment until they were able to support themselves. She would be out in the streets, handing s*x workers condoms and making sure they were being safe. She worked without pay to facilitate access to HIV testing and hormone therapy for trans s*x workers, including setting up a weekly HIV testing clinic in her home, and providing syringe exchanges for women taking hormone injections. When s*x workers were faced with “prostitution” charges, Lorena helped bail them out and eventually founded the “Lorena Borjas Community Fund” to help transgender people who were embroiled in the arrest-jail-deportation cycle. Borjas passed away last year due to COVID-19 complications. She left behind an incredible legacy of building community in the streets, rooted in resilience and an abundance of care for the people around her. Thank you to our wonderful community collaborator, @maitexnazario for creating this beautiful mural! This is the final piece of the mural, celebrating three different queer and trans Latine/x ancestors.

Just some thoughts! No harm meant!
I know this is an old discourse, but I have always found ace/aro exclusionists to be very very strange because most arguments rest on the idea that to be apart of the LGBTQIA+ community you must be oppressed, in pain or harassed in some way or another. This is strange to me because the LGBTQIA+ community is for people who do not fit the heteronormative idea of what gender and love is and can be, an umbrella that aro/ace’s fall under. If being oppressed is the standard for being allowed into the LGBTQIA+ community what is going to happen when all of us queers are accepted and no longer systematically discriminated against? Are we no longer apart of the LGBTQIA+ community? Of course not, because that’s not what our queerness relies on. Universally accepted or not, we are still apart of the LGBTQIA+ community. On top of that, the only reason that asexuals and aromantics are (seemingly) more accepted in society is because the bible never states (or is falsely interpreted to state) that not having romantic and/or sexual attraction is wrong, so therefore aro/ace’s have had less religious backlash against them. If the bible, however, had a verse condemning asexuality and aromanticism they would be just as oppressed and “othered” as the rest of the community. In fact, without religion, everyone else in the LGBTQIA+ community would also be (seemingly) more accepted in society, but that doesn’t take away their queerness.  In fact, you will hear lots of stories from aro/ace’s about how confused they were, how they wondered if they were broken or cursed, how painful it was to realize they weren’t like everyone else, the shame that they felt because of it, how many people told them they would grow out of it or that it was not real. These experiences that you see them go through is not the result of a rogue group of people looking for attention, but rather what being queer looks like in a world with less religious condemnation. Still valid, still confusing, still queer.  Our identity as members of the LGBTQIA+ community has never and will never rely on how much organized religion and society hates us and we should never decide who gets to be apart of the LGBTQIA+ community by that standard.  We should never make people feel ashamed that they were not oppressed. We should never make people wish that they were more hurt so that their experiences and identity can be validated and accepted by those like them. The LGBTQIA+ community is for a community of people whose sexual, romantic and gender identity is different from what is considered the “norm” and this includes asexuals and aromantics.  Thank you for reading! :3 <3

BATHROOM HACK:
every time you want to use a gender neutral restroom, and find yourself standing in between a men’s room and a women’s room, you run very fast at the wall in between the men’s room to the women’s room, and thats how you access the secret gender-neutral bathroom nine and three quarters

Glasses-wearing folks, do you remember when you first put on glasses and you were like, “This is how other people go through life? You all just walk around, seeing things??” and you just sat there for a while, staring at the leaves or the billboards or the texture of the sidewalk, amazed and baffled and mesmerized because you never knew how much you were missing?
That’s what non-dysphoric trans people feel when they figure out they’re trans. Maybe they weren’t suffering per se, but their lives still improve dramatically when they find their real gender
Dysphoria isn’t the only symptom of being trans

I’m sick and tired of bringing down the mood of the blog for people who don’t even care enough to take responsibility for their words. If you send discourse on anon, you’re a coward. It’s as simple as that. You are deceiving your followers, who deserve to know what you really do or do not stand up for. This is the final warning.
If this continues to happen, I will turn off anonymous asks. I don’t want to have to do this because I am aware that many people (esp. closeted folks) feel more comfortable making pride requests on anon to avoid being traced-back by possibly intolerant parents and the like.

Do Applin change apples like hermit crabs?
They do indeed! Although the apple is partly sustained by the pokémon’s will, it’s still not impervious to rot … or, well, an applin’s consumption of it. So eventually, the apple will simply be unsuitable for supporting its applin, which will cause applin to crawl out and seek a new apple. Luckily, unlike hermit crabs, an applin doesn’t require an apple larger than the one that had formerly housed it, but it does need an apple as soon as it emerges from its old one, as it’s weak and frail without it. If you notice your applin start to emerge from its apple, get a clean apple as quickly as possible and set it down next to your pokémon. You can easily predict when your applin may need a new apple by inspecting the apple daily for any signs of rot or hollowing. Usually, an apple will last each applin a couple of weeks.
