Solitary Stargazer

A melancholic mood and an aching head should have been more than enough indication for Gakupo to retire for the night after the rest of his awake housemates had done the same, but the samurai wanted nothing to do with sleep. He had been engrossed in a book for a while after Rin, Gumi and Lenka had headed off to bed, but even it eventually lost its appeal. Delicately dog-earing the page - Gods, he hated doing that - and setting the book aside for future reading, Gakupo reached over to pull the metallic cord of the lamp, the illumination disappearing from the room in a flash. Getting to his feet and leaving the room to emerge into the dark and silent mansion halls, sleep still did not seem like an attractive prospect. Given the exceptionally early hours of the morning, he had merely one thing to occupy himself with.

Striding through the darkened hallways to the back doors leading out to the garden, the amethyst-haired man cautiously pushed the doors open, letting them close behind him; thankfully, the creaky whine they emitted were inaudible to any of the household's residents, asleep floors above. Strolling out into the main section of the garden and listening in silence to the bubbling of the fountain stationed in its center, the male took a seat in a nearby bench, where a clear view of the sky was visible. Not a cloud covered the dark expanse, and the stars shone brilliant and divine in the night sky in what could be considered an inspirational sight.

Watching the celestial bodies gleam in the sky, Gakupo reflected upon his time he had spent in the household so far. He'd made friends, reunited with familiar individuals, and adapted a new way of living. It was a change he had still not accustomed himself to in its entirety, and perhaps it would continue to stay that way. He didn't know, and wondered if he ever would. A small smile pulling at the corners of his mouth as he realized how grateful he was to have reunited with some of his fellow Internet Co Vocaloids - not to brush aside the acquaintances and companions that he'd made in his time at the mansion - he still intended to ask them how things had gone for them following his departure. He could only hope they had gone as well as they possibly could for the individuals he now considered family, in essence.

Not wanting to get too consumed in thought at such a late hour - he would never get to sleep otherwise - Gakupo watched the stars with a melancholic smile for a small while longer before getting to his feet with a last wistful glance skywards. It wouldn't do him any good to be overcome by thought and emotion at such an hour. Heavens forbid the humble samurai would ever confess any semblance of his own complications to another - he wouldn't dare to burden them with such a thing. Entering the building's tenebrous halls once more and making his way quietly to his room, it didn't take long for Gakupo to join the rest of his housemates in the realm of slumber, under the soothing presence of the stars glowing in the night sky above.
