If Newton’s third law exists in sw universe (we’re gonna assume it does even with the cartoon physics in sw canon) then it has to have some recoil. Photons fired from a directed energy weapon (like a blaster) would have some mass and therefore some recoil. Star Wars loves plasma and photon based weapons, so small blasters would be more steady and have less recoil than a larger weapon. However, the trade off would be less range (a short barreled gun would fire less photons than a long barreled gun which means the range at which that small blaster’s shot doesn’t have enough mass to do damage is much closer than say a blaster rifle).

Rex using smaller blasters means he can have two guns to trade off for overheating reasons and also he has good short range accuracy with less recoil. If he’s following Jedi working at melee range, he also has an advantage of being able to maneuver in closer quarters than someone using a rifle.

star wars needs to answer one thing for me, do laser (plasma???) based firearms have recoil??

wrote a short Mia-centric fic for the spring_renewal prompt 'blood on the roots,' which was a pretty easy prompt to associate with the megamycete/Dulvey mold nonsense tbh.

fic takes place during RE8 and focuses on Mia's time locked up in Miranda's lab.

"its nice that theres an ace option" there isnt. you still have sex, larian just fades to black after 3 seconds of fully-clothed kissing. if you dont want your character to fuck, you can say no. if you dont want to say no but for some reason still dont want to see anything, the game has a nudity censor option

"he was just lowest priority because, out of all the romanceable companions, he puts the lowest priority on sex" lower priority than haarlep? than the drow twins? emperor? the woman who owns his soul gets full-frontal but his own scene cuts to black before he even takes his shirt off. larian puts in the content they think players would enjoy, and seemingly just saw the option to fuck wyll as unimportant to players

"it just wouldnt mesh with his character, hes too romantic" okay but he literally does fuck offscreen in his romance route, so it would in fact be in character for him. also sex isnt inherently impure. this is a less sex-positive take than the generally accepted one in the mormon church (i would know, im exmo). have you never heard the euphemisms "making love" and "intimacy" before? this is a weird take and youre weird for having it

Though the proverbial "showdown at high noon" is largely a media invention, many famous gunslingers of the American Old West did engage in formal duels at least occasionally. The main differences from the popular media version are twofold:

Formal duels were rare; most famous gunslingers duelled only once or twice in their entire careers, and a gunslinger with three or more duels under their belt would have been considered extraordinarily prolific (and also extraordinarily stupid – see below);

Those gunslingers who did duel typically made a point of accepting challenges only from opponents of demonstrably inferior skill; there was something of an unspoken agreement among prolific duellists to avoid duelling each other by any means necessary, as they knew the surest way to cut short one's career was to duel someone who actually knew what they were doing!

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because some day I want to write a semi-competitive tabletop RPG where the player characters are all rival gunslingers living the high life on manufactured drama and exaggerated tales of their legendary prowess while going to elaborate lengths to avoid having to actually fight each other.

#The fun thing about gun duels is that they really fell out of fashion once guns had rifling and were accurate #Dueling pistols were wildly inaccurate which is why people lived through them #Guns that cowboys used were too accurate for frequent dueling to be practical #Tho now I do want a ttrpg with pistol dueling using sport pistols like in the early modern Olympics (they shot wax bullets at each other!) #It was basically just 1900s paintball

I almost regret attaching the cup to the legs. It’s just so crisp and the lid turned out so nice. I probably should make a matte white glaze so that the cup looks nice. Consider doing the weathered bronze for the legs. Or maybe just gold but I haven’t tested that glaze yet. I think I’ll make some this morning.
