Paul, looking out in horror at the Harkonnens massacring Sietch Tabr, saying "I didn't see this coming" (I should've/could've seen this coming). Paul, having a vision of Chani dead in his arms. Paul, having a vision of a djinn Jamis telling him to drink the Water of Life so he can see the future. Paul, after months of being terrified of what the prophecy will do to him, willingly going into it so he can See. So he will be able to See the future and protect the people he loves. Paul, succumbing himself to monstrosity, in the end.
Paul, watching Chani walk away.

Now that I've binged all eights episodes, here is my final assessment of the Avatar: the Last Airbender live-action adaption.
As with any adaption (whether animation to live-action or book to screen), there are going to be things that get condensed, changed, rearranged, and left out. Its not ideal and I really wish it happened less, but that's reality.
Some of these things I greatly disliked. I thought the Southern Air Temple was rushed. I don't like that they took out the fact that Aang ran away. I wish we had seen Iroh redirect lightning, and that Azula's flames were blue, and that Zuko's Agni Kai with Zhao hadn't been left out. I didn't particularly care for Bumi's characterization. I wish Sozin's Comet had appeared as more than a very brief mention at the very end of the final episode. There are a lot of things I don't like here; those are just a few.
That being said, there were a lot of things it ended up doing well. With limited time, they did a good job of taking relevant plot points and weaving them together. They left in some iconic bits that original fans would have rioted without (the cabbage man and Secret Tunnel). They included original content that was impactful (Lu Ten's funeral, the fate of the 41st).
Its an adaption that, in order to enjoy, I have to mostly divorce from the source or I will drive myself mad picking apart the differences. But that doesn't mean it was actually bad.
A concept I've become well-acquainted with in the past so many years is the idea that a "good adaption" isn't one that is always 100% faithful to the source material. Would I prefer more accuracy? Absolutely yes -- always. But sometimes its enough that the people behind it put their whole hearts into it. I could make this post about Alex Rider. I almost did about Lockwood & Co. Neither of them are accurate either. But they are good.
So I am, in fact, eating my skeptical words about ATLA. And I hope it gets the two more seasons it deserves.

Everyone can say whatever they want about the ATLA live action but it was worth it for Ep 6 alone. I could write an essay on that episode and what they managed to do with it except I can’t because I will start crying.
That scene at the end alone??? Every one of Zuko’s crew bowing to him in respect, feeling gratitude and honor to serve him and the emotions hitting Zuko, who has needed this for three years, as he walks to his room???
I am in fucking tears.

Idc what anyone says, this was a good ADAPTATION of the origianl show. No way they would've made it exactly like a 19 years old perfect show. It was a perfect first season on its own, with ups and downs, emotional and funny moments, and a cast who despite being still young and having space to develop their skills, still acted their hearts out.
I wouldn't ever think I would've thanked Netflix for making an adaptation of anything, seeing what they did with most of their anime but here we are!
Ep 2 has a special placr in my heart, probably cause of Suki, but the whole show was such a great breath of fresh air, IT IS A STORY THE WORLD NEEDS TO SEE AGAIN AND CHANGE US FOR THE BETTER
A good 8.5/10 that can reach a 10/10 by the end of S3

Oh my god. The tears in Luke’s eyes when Percy says the betrayal line. The desperate pleading for them to run away. That he doesn’t want to hurt Percy. The tears in Percy’s eyes. The fear and shaking. Percy apologizing for actually hurting him. The look of horror on Luke’s face as Annabeth comes in. How horrified he looks when he looks down at Percy, who he HURT. The realization that Percy won’t join, and the equaled horror of hurting a twelve year old child.
Then he runs.
