few things annoy me more than those women on tiktok saying “feminism lied to me I work 24/7 and I’m still not happy” like ma’am feminism didn’t lie to you, capitalism lied to you and told you that making money is more important than developing hobbies and meaningful relationships.
you can’t blame feminism for your unhappiness with hustle culture, but you can blame feminism for that fact that you weren’t forced to marry a 45 year old man at age 11. you can also blame feminism for the fact that you’re allowed to wear pants, open a bank account, post your opinions online, vote, own a firearm, etc. place the blame where it actually needs to go rather than helping men try to take away every single basic human right women and girls have left please I’m begging

i truly hate how difficult it is to find detailed written tutorials for things now, everyone just makes a youtube video and it makes it a thousand times harder for me to follow. i would much rather just have a list in front of me that i can go through at my own pace than having to watch along with someone. it's even worse if they didn't write a script and they're forgetting things or getting lost in the process and didn't edit it. just write it down...please....

it’s now or never. I’ve been trying to post these since two days ago and workload has been overwhelming. Here is N'dek from #iceplanetbarbarians #rubydixon His story hit me like a truck. When you get injured, the path to recovery *is*recovering yourself (or what is left of your previous self). The story is so blatantly honest about it, that you can’t help but to fall in love with him. Also, Devi is one of my fave female charas in all romance novels. Uncensored version can be seen on my twitter.  Done with PS. I’m also on instagram, tumblr, twitter (milosflaca is my username as well).
Please do not repost or re upload my works. I am a small creator. If you like what you see here, share them through the social media links

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

But, to me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly, the most popular, great painter of all time, the most beloved. His command of colour the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world… Noone had ever done it before. Perhaps noone ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.

I read Alice Coldbreath’s medieval romance novels recently and I am happy to report that they live up to the hype. I read them by order of how much the tropes interested me, but I intend to re-read them in the correct order.
At this time the female character I like most is Lenora Montmayne, the male character I like most is Mason Vawdrey, and the couple I like most is Eden Montmayne & Roland Vawdrey.

I recall seeing the season 1 trailer and thinking emphatically, “No thanks.” How wrong I was. After rediscovering Black Sails this summer, this show completely changed the way I view history and storytelling—and upgraded my standards for TV in general. Compulsively watchable yet marred by a touch of sexism, the first season measured up to the better years of Game of Thrones. Then in season 2, a switch flips. The show discards its handful of flaws, setting up a three-season run of heartbreaking perfection. If I started listing its strengths, we’d be here all day while I yelled about naval battle choreography, character-driven romance, and Shakespearean speechwriting. Largely ignored in favor of more mainstream prestige dramas, it’s the kind of hidden gem that turns casual viewers into passionate evangelists.

I’ve never wavered in my SanSan shipping since I first read the A Song of Ice and Fire books back in 2006. But over the past few years I’ve allowed shame to slip in despite the mainstream supporting Dany/Drogo because of the Game of Thrones show.
I just watched an old interview with GRRM that reaffirmed that SanSan isn’t just a figment of SanSan shippers’ imagination, that GRRM intended for Sansa and Sandor to be shippable.
And I’m awestruck anew considering how a young girl in Sansa’s circumstances would feel knowing that the toughest, most badass (non)knight in the kingdom was hers. I mean, damn, even grown women would be amazed to have the Hound as theirs.
Now I’m going to light a candle and pray that The Winds of Winter is released in my lifetime.

I’m still obsessed with Cora Reilly’s mafia-universe and still re-reading her novels in between work and reading other novels.
Apparently there’s a vehement contingent of Gianna and Gianna/Matteo fans who hate Aria and Aria/Luca, and it reminds me so much of the whole Arya vs Sansa nonsense in ASoIaF fandom. I hate that this rivalry between fans of traditionally feminine characters and fans of reactionary rebellious female characters exist. The patriarchy is the enemy, not each other!
That said, in this case, I’m very much Team Aria. I probably would have loved Gianna, Matteo, and Gianna/Matteo when I was younger, but at this point in time I find characters like Gianna and couples like Gianna/Matteo exhausting and not worth my emotional investment. Gianna comes across to me like she’s defiant for the sake of defiance.
I can’t help feeling protective and defensive of Aria when she’s simultaneously derided as a meek victim who blindly accepts her fate and yet at the same time she’s also accused of being meddlesome and not ‘knowing her place’ and causing mafia politics trouble. It reminds me of fandom’s attitude towards Catelyn Stark.

When people try to raise the age of majority they’re doing so because they understand that children lack power in society and they’re trying to increase how many lack power and increase the concentration of power.
If someone tells you that 25 is the start of adulthood they’re saying that they think that too many people have autonomy, choice, and freedom and they want to take that away from them.
If someone tells you that neurodivergence means you stay a child longer than neurotypicals they’re telling you that they think that more neurotypicals deserve autonomy, choice, and liberty than neurodivergents.
When someone says these things, listen to them and understand it as the horrifying statement that it is.

If you look up symptoms of ASD specific to girls one of them is frequently “masculine behavior/dress” or whatever and people love to blame that on autism being an “extreme male brain” but it’s really very easily explained when you consider what femininity is: a set of implicit social rules forced on women. Like, of course autistic girls and women aren’t going to be as successful at performing femininity “correctly.” It doesn’t have to do with the fictitious male brain. It has to do with femininity being inaccessible to people who have difficulty navigating complex and arbitrary social conventions.

Cora Reilly mafia romance universe (part 2)
Continuation from part 1.
Sins of the Fathers
- #1 By Sin I Rise: Part One and #2 By Sin I Rise: Part Two - Marcella Vitiello is the 19 year old daughter and eldest child of Luca & Aria. Maddox White is a 25 year old biker who witnessed Luca brutally slaughter his father and nine other members of his father’s motorcycle club when he was five. His uncle tasks him with kidnapping Marcella - supposedly to make Luca exchange himself for his daughter so they can kill him - and Maddox complies, but then finds himself having to protect Marcella from his fellow bikers.
- #3 By Virtue I Fall - Anna Cavallaro is the eldest child of Dante & Valentina. Santino Bianchi was perfectly happy as an enforcer for Dante until he was reassigned to be Anna’s bodyguard when he was 22 and she was 12. He’s surly and irreverent, and Anna is provocative and assertive, and by the time she’s 17/18 she’s intentionally tempting and teasing him and he’s desperately trying to pretend he isn’t tempted. Then they are alone together while she goes to college in Paris...
- # 4 By Fate I Conquer - Amo Vitiello is the son of Luca & Aria from the Born In Blood series and Greta Falcone is the daughter of Remo & Serafina from the Camorra Chronicles. Greta is neuroatypical and kind of Luna Lovegood-esque in saying what she’s thinking and feeling, regardless of how odd or socially awkward it may be. Amo is smitten with Greta from the first time he meets her, but his father Luca forces him to marry someone else. Greta and Amo can’t stay away from each other, however.

An archivist found a long forgotten 8mm film reel in an old metal box, marked "Philippines 1942". Thinking it was lost WWII footage, he sent it in to be restored/digitized. When he got the footage back, he found puppies instead (via)
