Nat recently showed at the Artscape as part of Suidoosterfees - and our Iman Isaacs was awarded the Distell Jong Ster award for best newcomer. We are SO proud of her!  She and Richard were both nominated (not to shabby) and she walked away with the trophy and the cash prize.
Can we just boast a little bit? We’ll make it quick:
1) This is SO well deserved
2) Iman is the most underrated actress we know - first of many, many awards to come
3) We are honored that a bright young thing like her would work with us
4) Richard was also nominated: DOUBLE NAT WHAMMY!
5) Proud, proud, proud.
As a small company, our opportunities for fame and fortune aren’t many or varied. But we have been privileged to work with some of THE best actors and actresses this City has. This is truly well deserved. Our hearts are glowing for you Iman!

Rehearsals for Sillage are underway - and our actresses are doing absolutely stellar work.
By Penelope Youngleson (co-writer of two Silver Standard Bank Ovation award winning shows; Fleur du Cap nominee 2016, winner 2014), Sillage is the story of a mother and daughter forced to pack up their family home - and fit themselves into the very boxes they've fought against their entire lives.
Book your tickets here to make sure you get a seat!

Nat will be showing at the Artscape Arena from 29-30 April and 1 May 2016.
Written and directed by Fleur du Cap award winner Penelope Youngleson, Nat stars Iman Isaacs and Richard September (2015 Fiesta, WoordTroFee and Fleur du Cap winner for Rondomskrik).
A multi-lingual performance (Afrikaans vernacular, English, isiXhosa) that uses text, movement and soundscapes, Nat follows the lives of three adolescents in Grassy Park rupturing in the sexuality and violence inherent in their community. These are the expendable children that populate our disadvantaged communities - the children who are too poor to have a childhood.
Nat has shown in Cape Town at the Rosebank Theatre and the Artscape Theatre (as part of the Assitej African Youth Theatre and Dance festival) and has travelled to KKNK.

Rust Co-Operative will be presenting Nat at Suidoosterfees this year in the Arena theatre.
Many of our loyal audiences have already seen the show...but if you know someone who hasn’t caught it yet..please tell them to come!
Here’s a little more info on the production:
Written and directed by Fleur du Cap award winner Penelope Youngleson, Nat stars Iman Isaacs and Richard September (2015 Fiesta, WoordTroFee and Fleur du Cap winner for Rondomskrik).
A multi-lingual performance (Afrikaans vernacular, English, isiXhosa), Nat follows the lives of three adolescents in Grassy Park on Guy Fawkes night - exploding their childhoods and flaring into replicas of the parents they are trying to escape - these are our Cannibal Kids. The ones left behind. The ones too poor to have a childhood. The ones who eat themselves whole.
Nat has shown in Cape Town at the Rosebank Theatre and the Artscape Theatre (as part of the Assitej African Youth Theatre and Dance festival) and has travelled to KKNK.

Rust’s new show Sillage comes to Alexander Bar, Cafe and Theatre from 9-10 and 16-21 May 2016.
Starring Rebecca Makin-Taylor and Michele Belknap, Sillage is a disquieting story of three generations of South African women and how their matriarchy sustains them - until they must pack up their family home.  With cloying tensions heavy in the air and a house full of a past that is drowning their relationship in the present; mother and daughter have to fit themselves into the boxes they’ve been avoiding their whole lives.
Sillage is what lingers in the air - long after she’s walked out the door.

ONE WEEK TO GO!
Well..almost.  2015 Fleur du Cap and Fiesta winner Richard September performs with Iman Isaacs in award winning Rust Co-Operative's production, ‪#‎Nat‬, at Absa KKNK in Oudtshoorn from 9 - 11 April. Directed, written and designed by Penny Youngleson (2014 Fleur du Cap for Best New Director). We hope to see you at the festival!
"Sy het twee perfekte akteurs in die persone van (Richard) September en (Iman) Isaacs. Beide is die een oomblik volledig slagoffer en die volgende amper ’n barbaar in die kleine. Slim choreografie vervang grafiese geweld, maar die taal is een van die straat, onverdun uitgespoeg." - Mariana Malan, Die Burger
"Youngleson's quest to shatter the comfortable ignorance adopted by the privileged when considering the everyday realities of people who live just down the road from them is a noble one. More than that, it is an essential one." - David Fick, BWW
"an hour filled with deep human emotion and inspiration" - Janice Garman, WOICT
"Nat is a dedicated and extremely polished piece of physical theatre" - Melissa Cohen, Netwerk24
