People who have known me for awhile know just how much I admired Toriyama and how much he influenced my own growth as an artist. In more ways than one, he was a beacon of light to me. Needless to say, the news of his sudden passing has been soul-crushing.

I still do not know how to process it all and I honestly feel at a loss right now. But I also know that Toriyama would want us to continue doing what we love with all our heart. So, I will continue doing what I love and in memory of him.

When the Dragon Ball manga ended, Toriyama wrote "Tackle life with as much energy as Goku! I will try to do the same!"

I will try to do the same.

I know I don't post art that often anyway, but I'm really sorry for the lack of updates! I've been really busy lately with other projects and personal life commitments, which are about to become even busier for me this coming month.

Regarding Tumblr's decision to sellout to generative-AI: I'm not going to be leaving this place anytime soon, despite how miffed this makes me. Unfortunately, this isn't new and other websites are doing or considering the exact same thing, making this all very inescapable for me. And other places just simply do not have the community-base or are unstable to move to. It's the unfortunate reality we currently live in.

Unfortunately, I can't run Glaze or Nightshade on my PC. An online version exists, but that requires a lengthy sign-up process that they're no longer accepting at this time. I have long accepted the fact that protecting my art is out of my hands. I do not like that, but I live with that. Commitments may get in the way, but I don't want this to dissuade me again from doing art.

Obviously, do take steps to protect your art and self-expression if you can! Times are very rough, but most we can do is keep pressing on in spite of it.

After a lot of debate, I've decided to rebrand my artist handle.

From now on, my new handle will be RustyBuraceDraws.

This unfortunately means my signatures are now all out-of-date (again lmao). But if I'm honest, RustySquiggles was never my first choice when I initially set out to make an art alias. This is much closer to my own alias and much clearer of what I do!

I still have to update some of my other alts. But I hope everyone has been doing well. I've been super busy, but some new art is coming soon!
